Donald Carl Taylor, formerly of Decatur, IL and Maxwell, IA, passed away the morning of May 12, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1948, to Harry and Gertrude Taylor, he grew up in Elwin, IL as the eldest of five siblings. He worked at the Bridgestone plant in Decatur until it shuttered in 2001, eventually relocating to Maxwell, IA to work at the Des Moines plant until retiring at the end of 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as brother David and sisters Alice and Marianne. He is survived by his brother, Douglas, sister-in-law Marcy (Alice), several children, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Carl will be cremated and there are no services planned.

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
