Jean Marie Wattelet, 93 of Stonington, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  She was born on September 23, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of James E Arnold and Marguerite Holmes Arnold.  She married Rene L. Wattelet on February 14, 1998, in Deerfield.  Jean was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. 

She is survived by her husband: Rene Wattelet of Stonington; daughters: Janet Maziarka (James) of Lowell, Indiana, Debra Sue Lanovich of Bunnell, Florida, Denise Kindred of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Tammy Jones of Elmwood Park; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother: Marion Arnold; and brother: Donald Arnold. 

A funeral mass for Jean will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington with Fr. John Burnette officiating.  The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.  The burial will be in the Old Stonington Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Altar and Rosary Society. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
