Robert Gerald Shultz, 68 of Owaneco passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2024, at 7:40 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on June 29, 1956, in Lynwood, CA, the son of Robert Clarence and Luellen Vivian (Mason) Shultz. Robert loved spending time with his family and fishing. He had a love for scary movies and working out. Robert worked as a laborer for the Laborers Union Local 477.       

Robert is survived by his daughters: Ashley Shultz of Owaneco, IL; Samantha Norris (Aaron Davis) of Morrisonville, IL; grandchildren: Gabe and Garrett Shultz of Owaneco, IL; Austin and Sophia Abbott and Emerlyn Norris of Morrisonville, IL; sister: Theresa Hannel; brother: Randy Bandy both of Taylorville, IL; several nieces, and his beloved dog Sampson. He was preceded in death by his parents and Clara and Yak Bandy.   

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Owaneco Cemetery in Owaneco, IL with Father Rodney Schwartz officiating. 

Memorials may be made to Christian County Animal Control.
