Charles Robert Kindred, 96 of Edinburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Taylorville Care Center.  He was born on October 16, 1928, in Taylorville, the son of Linburn L. and Edith (Deweese) Kindred.  He married Reeda J. Stahl on December 5, 1948, at the Stonington United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2019.  Robert was a lifelong farmer in the Edinburg area.  He was a member of the Taylorville First United Methodist Church and former member of the Elk’s Club. 

He is survived by his sons: Steve Kindred of Edinburg and Darrell Kindred (Penny) of Connersville, Indiana; grandchildren: Richard Kindred of Reno, Nevada and Jennifer Mitchell (David) of Washington, D.C.; great grandchildren: Ian Steven Mitchell, Aria Kathleen Mitchell, and Evan Kindred Mitchell; and sister: Virginia Ream of Taylorville.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter: Marcia Kindred; and siblings: Paul, Tom, Earl, Joanne, Mary, Helen, and Maxine.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Edinburg Cemetery with Pastor Brennan Hurley officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Taylorville First United Methodist Church.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
