Wallis Edward Bromley, 91, of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 5:31 p.m. at Taylorville Estates in Taylorville. He was born on January 22, 1934, in Decatur, IL, the son of Wallis Scott and Gladys (Chynoweth) Bromley. Wallis married Judith Sprague on July 18, 1954, in Macon, IL. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at his cabin on Pana Lake, playing card games in Macon but most of all spending time with his family.
Wallis is survived by his wife Judith Bromley of Taylorville, IL; daughters: Carol (Sam) Jackson of Phoenix, AZ; Amy (Jim) Ofcarcik of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Amanda (Lance) Robinson, Jessamy (Jerod) Carruthers, Jenny Ofcarcik, Meleah (Aaron) Berkowitz, Ryan Bromley, Cole (Brianna) Bromley; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Steve Bromley; sisters: Caroline in infancy, Margery Brenning, Shirley Marshall and Betty Heneberry.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery in Mt. Zion, IL with Pastor Sheryl Vandyke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lancaster Dunn American Legion P.O. Box 166 Macon, IL 62544.
