Carolyn Sue Childers, 87, of Sharpsburg passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 7:52 p.m. at her home in Sharpsburg. She was born on August 28, 1937, in Mt. Auburn, IL, the daughter of Anthony Joseph and Juanita Elaine (Lawson) Stengel. She married Omer Ledon Childers on June 18, 1961, in Mt. Auburn, IL and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1999.  

Carolyn is survived by her son: Arthur Childers of Jacksonville, IL and Daughter Theresa (Robert) Stark of Springfield, IL; grandchildren Marshall Porter of Tacoma, WA and Wade Porter of Spanaway, WA; great-grandson: Bransyn and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, sisters: Roberta Greenacre and Geraldine Stengel.    

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg, IL with Pastor Chad Zueck officiating.

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
