Carolyn Elizabeth Bogue, formerly Davis, 89 years old of Carlinville passed from this life July 15, 2025 at 4:11pm at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  She was born September 3, 1935 to Clarence and Frieda Mills and married James "Vernon" Davis whom she later divorced.  

She worked at Prairie Glove factory in Carlinville as well as did some CNA work too.  She loved playing the organ and piano and singing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids.  She was the Rock of our family.

Carolyn had a big heart, always giving to others even when she did not have much herself.  She was known in the neighborhood as MA Davis.  She was a very strong woman raising 3 boys as a single Mom and also raising several grandchildren as well.  She will be greatly missed.  She was a believer in Christ and believed firmly in the power of prayer.  

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and also great great granddaughter, Alexis Miller.

Survived by 5 children, Cathy (Randy) Miller of Taylorville, Ruth Childers, Daniel, Roy, and Jim Davis all of Carlinville, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.  Also by brother Danny Mills, Rachel (Bill) Rueweler, and Rhoda Mills all of Missouri.  

Visitation will be on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.  The funeral will be on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie at 12:00 pm.  Burial will be in Carlinville City Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to Emmanuel Baptist.  Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
