Diana Marie Murphy, 78, of Taylorville, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by her family in her home.  She was born on November 15, 1946, in Taylorville, the daughter of Chester and Florence (Armstrong) Gibson.  She married Donald Murphy on July 7, 1990, in Taylorville, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2007.  Diana worked at the Sangamon Card Company for many years and later in social services and activities at Meadow Manor Nursing Home.  She enjoyed coffee with friends at Country Kitchen and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Mary Marucco (Rick) of Taylorville, Russel Yeaman of Taylorville, and bonus daughter: Shelly Henson (Brian) of Salem; grandchildren: Adam McConnell of Springfield, and Seth McConnell and Levi McConnell both of Taylorville; siblings: Jimmy Gibson (Sandy) of Taylorville, Corene Kent (Lucian) of Morrisonville, Susan Gibson of Missouri, and Joe Gibson (Connie) of Pittsfield; companion: Delbert Lash of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Mary Kaydus, Lorene McGinnis, Sharon Freitag, and Howard Gibson.

Diana will be cremated, and her family will host a celebration of life at a later date.  Inurnment will be in Fraley Cemetery.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
