Dean McConnell, 64, of Taylorville, IL, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. Dean was born on June 16, 1961, in Taylorville, Illinois, to the late Raymond and Leah (Larimore) McConnell.

Dean worked for Wal-Mart for over 22 years. He enjoyed interacting with his coworkers and customers. Dean always had a hug and a smile for his customers and for friends at work. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his long-time companion: Chrystal Pounds of Taylorville, IL; his twin brother: Deon McConnell of Taylorville, IL; brother: Dennis McConnell of Tovey, IL; his sister: Nancy (Steve) Law of Taylorville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce McConnell.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
