Michael H. Hall, 60, of Edinburg, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Mike was born on March 8, 1965, in Decatur, IL to the late Ted Hall and Gloria (McConnell) Hobbs. He married Heather McKinney in Petersburg, IL on March 30, 1986.
Mike was an auto mechanic for many years. He especially took great joy in crafting custom exhaust systems. Mechanically and in life, when things got cantankerous, he always had a “redneck trick” up his sleeve to get it fixed. Mike was a motorcycle enthusiast and a founding member of Steel Justice Motorcycle Club. He loved mushroom hunting, cooking for the people he loved, and getting as many eye rolls as possible out of his corny puns and jokes.
He is survived by his darling bride: Heather Hall of Edinburg, IL; daughter: Ashleigh (Jacob) Carter of Divernon, IL; granddaughter: Dorothy Carter of Divernon, IL; dad: James “Heavy” Hobbs of Edinburg, IL; as well as his sister: Renee Hall Seevers of Columbia, TN, and two beloved dogs.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Bertha McConnell, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
