Monte G. Busen, 72, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away on August 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. Monte was born on August 20, 1953, in Beardstown, IL, to the late James and Wanda (Mitchell) Busen. He married Nancy Flatt Busen Rushville, IL, on March 10, 1973, and she preceded him in death after many happy years together.

Monte worked at Buckhart Sand and Gravel for fifteen years. He was a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. After working hard all his life, he was happily retired. He loved spending time with his wife and loved his grandchildren dearly. They loved traveling to the beach together.

He is survived by his daughter: Jessica (Charles) Golitko of Morrisonville, IL; grandchildren: Dominic Golitko and Margaret Golitko, both of Morrisonville, IL; as well as his sisters: Janet (Gary) Martin; Barbara (Dick) Childers; Becky (Matt) Long; and brother: Jerry Busen.

In addition to his parents and wife, Monte was preceded in death by his son: George Busen; his brothers: Ron Busen and James Busen; and sister: Charlotte Markert.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held at this time.
