Shirley Louise Sullivan

Shirley Louise Sullivan, 82, of Pana, passed away at 6:08 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Pana Health & Rehab in Pana.  She was born on Wednesday, August 11, 1943 at Pana Huber Memorial Hospital in Pana, the daughter of Paul & Ethel (Litz) Swenny.  She married John L. Sullivan on March 26, 1976 in Decatur, IL.  
She is a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1961.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Pana.  Shirley worked as a bookkeeper at B.C. King Dealership in Pana, then years later, worked for Bob Riding Ford in Pana and Taylorville, as secretary and customer relations.  She had been a member of the Pana Country Club, Quail Unlimited, where she was treasurer, and worked in the office at the Pana Tri-County Fair for several years.  Shirley had a deep love for family and trust in God.  She loved to play golf and work in her flowerbeds.  
Shirley had no children of her own.  She is survived by her sisters: Darlene (Randy) Reeter, Mt. Auburn, IL and Arlene (Tom) Froelich, Taylorville, IL; step brothers: John L. (Judy) Wagner, Decatur, IL; Charles (Carol) Wagner, Mt. Zion, IL: Steve Wagner and Stan Wagner, Colorado Springs, CO; step sisters: Gretchen Willis, Decatur, IL and Donna Wagner, Oregon; step sons: David Sullivan, Pana, IL; Bill (Nancy) Sullivan, Missouri and many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul Swenny, Ethel Swenny Wagner & John Wagner; husband, John Sullivan; nephew, Paul Reeter and stepsister, Patricia Miller.
A memorial mass for Shirley will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pana.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
Memorials in Shirley’s honor may be made to the Sacred Heart School and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
