Frank Lanzotti Jr.

Frank Lanzotti Jr., 81, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025.  He was born in Taylorville on May 29, 1944, to Frank and Catherine Lanzotti.

On August 21, 1965, Frank married Pamela “Pam” Wilson of Bulpitt, IL.  Frank and Pam enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage before her passing on July 9, 2025.  He was the proud father of three children.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Alberta “Cheta” DiPietro; his brother, John Lanzotti; his infant brothers, Terry and James Lanzotti; and his brothers-in-law, G.A. “Tony” DiPietro and LaVern Moliske.

He is survived by his children: Leanne Lanzotti of Springfield, IL; Anthony Lanzotti of Springfield; and Andrew Lanzotti of Chicago, IL.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandon, Aidan, and Gabriella Urbina, all of Springfield; his brother, Vic Lanzotti of Springfield; sister-in-law, Gayla Moliske of Taylorville, as well as four nieces and two nephews.

Frank spent his early years helping at his family’s restaurant, The One Mile Inn.  He graduated from St. Mary’s School and Taylorville High School.  Frank went on to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Springfield College.  In 1971, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Millikin University, graduating alongside his wife.  He worked as an accountant in both private industry and for the State of Illinois.

In November 1965, Frank was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served his country for two years.

Frank also served his community by volunteering his time coaching basketball at St. Mary’s School and Little League baseball teams.  He was an avid golfer, participating in leagues and tournaments and achieving three holes-in-one over the years.  In retirement, he and Pam enjoyed spending time with their dogs and attending auctions and garage sales together.

The family is sincerely grateful for the compassionate care Frank received from the staff of Rose Garden and Quad County Home Health and Hospice in Pana, IL.

A private graveside service for family will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Father John Burnette of St. Mary’s Church officiating.
