Susan L. Henderson, 61, of Mt. Auburn, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Susan was born on March 25, 1964, in Springfield, to Robert Aaron and Edith Louise (Crist) Moore. She married Donald Henderson on September 5, 1992, in Mt. Auburn and he survives.

Susan was an active member of Mt. Auburn Christian Church. She worked in heath care as a CNA and cared deeply for her patients. Outside of her career, Susan loved spending time outdoors. She loved tending to her flower garden, camping, and sitting around the campfire. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.

She is survived by her husband: Donald Henderson of Mt. Auburn, IL; her son: Cody (Ashley) Henderson of Morrisonville, IL; daughter: Libby (Josh) Campbell of Rochester, IL; grandchildren: Savannah, Brynlee, Kynzee, Ellie, Harper, and Stetson; her mother: Edith Moore of Mt. Auburn; sister: Cinda Sliffy of Decatur, IL; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Moore and her brother, James Moore.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Mt. Auburn Christian Church Roof Fund.
