Melba Dorothy Miller, 92, of Fillmore, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Montgomery County Nursing and Rehabilitation. Melba was born on September 3, 1933, in Nokomis, IL, to the late Elden Herbert and Neva Eloise (Tooley) Haines. On May 29, 1953, she married Leonard Keith Miller in Decatur, IL, and they spent many happy years together before he preceded her in death on February 26, 2019.

Melba is survived by her children: Everett (Kay) Miller of Coffeen, IL; Leona Miller of Macon, IL; Cynthia Miller of Salem, IL; Debra (Mike) Jackson of Fillmore, IL; Susan (Wayne) Jackson of Vandalia, IL; Gary (Joyce) Miller of Fillmore, IL; Paula (Tony) Fullerton of Westervelt, IL; daughter-in-law: Brenda Miller of Fillmore, IL; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and one on the way; five great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; brother: Muryl Haines; sister: Arlene Haines; sisters-in-law: Hazel Miller and Esther Haines; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Melba was preceded in death by her son: Jeff Miller; granddaughter: Abigail Fullerton; great-granddaughter: Isabella Chapman; great-great-granddaughter: Jocelynn Barnett; and two brothers: William Tooley and Clifford Haines.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore, IL. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A second visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.  Interment will follow the service at Bost Hill Cemetery in Irving, IL.

Memorials in Melba’s honor may be made to Fillmore Baptist Church.
