Clarence R. Barker, 76 of Taylorville, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by his family in his home. He was born on January 3, 1949, in Pana, the son of Hubert Harold and Betty Louis (Stolte) Barker.  He married Betty J. Miller on September 24, 1976, in Taylorville.  Clarence previously worked as a welder and was affectionately known by his family at “Clinker”.  He enjoyed country music, wearing flannels, and more than anything loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother: Betty Babbs; wife: Betty Barker; children: Beverly Miller and Tammy Phoenix (Billy) all of Taylorville; grandchildren: Heaven Miller, Justice Frisina-Miller, Adrian Frisina-Miller, Alyssa Phoenix, and Elizabeth Phoenix; 5 great grandchildren; siblings: Larry Barker (Vickie), Ralph Barker, David Barker, and Tina Babbs all of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father: Hubert Barker; stepfather: Charles V. Babbs; first wife: Joyce Brimberry-Barker; daughter: Melissa Barker; and sister: Brenda Barker.

A graveside service for Clarence will take place at noon on Monday, September 29 at the Morrisonville Cemetery with Pastor Russ Burch officiating.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
