Rena Jarman

Rena D. Jarman, age 74 of Greenville, formerly of Sorento, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, Friday, October 3, 2025.

Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. For those who desire, memorials are asked to be made to Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers or plants.

Rena Denise, the daughter of Herschel Dwain and Lovetta “Betty” Reed Jarman, was born August 25, 1951, in Hillsboro, Illinois. Rena grew up in Sorento, attended Sorento School and graduated from Greenville High school. She had a deep love for family and people, that was evident as she babysat for many children over the years. She also was the school crossing guard for years, helping kids safely to and from school each day. Later in life, Rena worked at the Bond County Senior’s Center and did numerous volunteer work around Bond County.

Rena was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sorento, where she grew up. For many years now, she has been going to the First Christian Church in Greenville.

 

Rena is survived by her best friend of over 45 years, Becky Blackburn and her adopted son Nick Blackburn and his girlfriend Kara and grandchildren Abbiegail and Benjamin. Also survived by siblings: Gail (Darwin) Royer of Panama, Debi (Darrell) File of Sorento, Gerald Jarman of Florida, and Judy (Sheldon) Ray of Texas.

Preceded in death by her parents and a brother Art Jarman.
