Doreen Frances Bilyeu, 64, of Taylorville, passed away peacefully at 3:34 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on July 21, 1961, in Bethesda, Maryland, the oldest daughter of Roger and Darlene (Doran) Reber. She was a strong fighter, fighting all the way up to the very end. Those who knew her will remember her enormous heart and her willingness to give selflessly; she would truly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
Doreen is survived by her sons, Dylan Bilyeu of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dalton Bilyeu of Taylorville, Illinois; her mother, Darlene Reber of Taylorville; and her sisters, Teresa Wiseman of Taylorville, Peggy Reber of Taylorville, and Joyce Snyder of Mississippi. She also leaves behind nieces Megan Barry (L.C. Barry), Kristi Wiseman, and Ashley Snyder Barnette; nephews Josh Wiseman and Jeremy Snyder; as well as many more beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home with Pastor Tiney Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery in rural Palmer, Illinois. There will be a luncheon and gathering after the funeral service at the Funky Monkey in Taylorville. The main dish will be provided.
