Sue Wilson

Sue (Siegrist) Wilson, 86, of Taylorville, IL, passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born on October 6, 1939. In Taylorville, to the late Walter and Pauline (Straughn) Siegrist.

Sue was strong in her faith and was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church of Taylorville and was a social member of the VFW Post #4495. Sue loved to socialize with her neighbors and enjoyed the company of her church family. She always looked forward to meeting up with her friends at the senior citizen center to play Pinochle “P-Nuckle”, Canasta, and Bunko. She brought the “magic” to all the holidays with her festive decorating and immensely enjoyed being among her family and grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and she is missed dearly by all who loved and knew her. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart and infectious smile.

She is survived by her children: Michelle (David) Speagle of Taylorville, IL; Paula (Kevin) Lee of Taylorville, IL; Jeannie Masters of Taylorville, IL; Paul (Gwen) Wilson of Valmeyer, IL; grandchildren: Brandon Masters (Jaime Carlson); Alex (Stormy) Lee; Kelsey Speagle (Jeremy Craft); Mark Lee (Cassie Niehaus); Logan Wilson; Breanne (Jeremiah) True; Ashley (Aaron) May; numerous great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Lucy Siegrist of Taylorville, IL; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Pauline Siegrist; son: Michael Wilson; siblings: Ellen Lou Siegrist; Max Siegrist; Monte Siegrist; Malcom Siegrist; and her nephew: John Siegrist.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Don Beetem officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Taylorville VFW or to Shriners Hospital for Children.
