David L McMurray, 82 of Dacula, GA passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

David was born in Springfield to Mary E (Pathel) and Rowley McMurray; raised in central Illinois where he worked as a diesel machinist at Central Illinois & Midland Railroad and later worked as a mechanic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Emory University. David served in the US Army as a medic.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca McMurray, son Brett McMurray (Mary Ellen), daughter Kelly McMurray (Ryan), several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings Jerry McMurray and Mary Louise Gartshore as well as 2 nieces.
