Janet Kay Beck, 81 of Taylorville, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in her home.  She was born on June 11, 1944, in Lovington, the daughter of John Francis and Catherine Hasty (Brown) Foster.  She married Walter A. Beck Sr. on April 7, 1963, in Illiopolis and he preceded her in death in 2002.  Janet was a member of the Lovington United Methodist Church and previously worked as a school bus driver and at St. Mary’s Hospital as a van driver.  She enjoyed jig saw puzzles, playing cards, camping and fishing.  Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children: Lori Anne Norville (Terry) of Stonington, Walter Beck Jr. (Marjorie) of Mechanicsburg, and Jeffrey Beck of Decatur; grandchildren: Travis Norville, Trent Norville, Briar Beck, Duncan Beck, and Katie Beck; great grandchildren: Tucker Norville, Brinley Beck, Sawyer Norville, Sammuell Beck, and Llewellyn Beck; sisters-in-law: Alice St. John of Decatur, Jan Foster of Alabama, Debbie Hughes of Decatur, and Cindy Beck of Mt. Zion; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Judy Jacobs and Judy Deal.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Doris Cooley, Dorothy Sanner, Jim Foster, Jack Foster, and George Foster; brother-in-law: Rick Beck; and sisters-in-law: Jessie Beck and Delores Beck.

A memorial service for Janet will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Floyd Blackard officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and inurnment will be at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at the Mt. Auburn Community Building following the committal service.  Memorials may be made to the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
