JoAnn Coffey, 88, of Stonington, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully at 3:40 am on November 13th, 2025, at the Mount Zion Health & Rehab Center, Mount Zion, IL. She was born July 28, 1937, in Decatur, IL., the daughter of Charles E. Roberts and Agnes Ann Karlowski. On November 10, 1989, she married Harold (Harry) L. Coffey in Decatur, IL., and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2004. She was full of life and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She took in rescued animals over the years and loved them all. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, yard work and helping in the local food pantries.
Surviving is her son; David Myers and wife Terry of Taylorville, IL; Daughters; Sharon Nielsen of Decatur, IL; Pam Benscoter and husband Dan of Decatur, IL; 3 Step-Sons: Wes Coffey of Oklahoma City, OK; Bob Coffey and wife Lisa of Huntsville, AL; Brian Coffey and wife Robin of Crystal Lake, IL; Step-Daughter: Mary Kearns and husband Doug of Garrison, IA. JoAnn has 34 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Coffey, son: Michael Myers, and granddaughter; Catherine Nielsen.
Her family will host a grave side service, with inurnment taking place at Ponting Cemetery, Stonington, IL., on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
