Marcia Jeannine “Jeanne” Brewer Mohn, age 73, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 29, 1952, the daughter of Earl Allen and Lula F. (Nemyer) Brewer. She was a woman whose life was defined by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength.
To those who knew her best, she was lovingly known as “Nana.” Nana had a rare gift for making people feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. Her kindness touched friends, family, and coworkers alike, and her home was always a place of comfort and refuge. She was known for her gentle rituals of love — soft back scratches and face tickles at bedtime, quiet words of wisdom, and the way she called those she loved her “Sweetie Pies” and “Doll Babies.”
From simple shopping trips to joyful sleepovers and playful dress-up moments in the bridal shop, Jeanne created memories filled with warmth, laughter, and belonging. She had a way of offering wisdom and encouragement without judgment, teaching everyday life lessons through love and example. Her familiar greeting of “Hey Sweetheart” will forever echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Jeanne will be remembered for her unwavering love, compassionate heart, and the steady grace with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished beyond measure. Her family will forever treasure the memories they shared and the love she gave so freely.
She is survived by her son: Jim “JR” Rogers (Dawn) of Cary; stepchildren: Dow Costa (Pam), Dana Parkin, Ashley Mohn, and Christopher Mohn; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson: Nicholas.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Anderson Cemetery in Palmer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Springfield APL, 1001 Taintor Rd, Springfield, IL 62702. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
