Rodney Greear McMahon

Rodney Greear McMahon passed away on December 17, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  He was born on October 25, 1965, in Taylorville, the son of Donald and Genevieve (Greear) McMahon.  He married Vicki McMahon on May 12, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With heavy hearts, we remember a man whose life was defined by generosity, dedication, and quiet strength. He was a giver in every sense of the word. Always willing to lend a hand, offer support, or step in wherever he was needed. Whatever he committed himself to, he gave his all, and those around him were better for it.

He had a deep love for the outdoors, where he found peace and purpose. Hunting was more than a hobby; it was a cherished tradition and a meaningful way to connect with nature, share stories, and create lasting memories with those he loved.

A man of strong personal convictions, he was a lifetime NRA member and a firm supporter of the Constitution. He stood by his principles with pride and respect, valuing responsibility, independence, and the traditions he held dear.

Family was the center of his world. He was a devoted and loving husband, a steadfast stepfather, and an incredible grandfather. He showed his love through his presence and unwavering dependability. His grandchildren were a source of immense joy, and he took great pride in being part of their lives.

Though his faith was personal, it helped shaped who he was. A steady, compassionate, and resilient man. His legacy lives on through the love he shared.

He will be remembered for his generosity and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

He was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus, along with his mother, father, brother, and stepdaughter.

Surviving him are his beloved wife, Vicki McMahon; his son, Zach Younker (Lauren); stepchildren Donald Colonius (Lauren) and Lindsay Fox (Brandon); brother: Steve McMahon (Cheryl); and all of his deeply cherished grandchildren.

A memorial service for Rodney will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Fr. Pete Fox officiating.  The visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.  Memorial donations may be made to the NRA Foundation.  McClure Funeral home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
