Judith D. Welch, age 80 of Greenville, passed away at Vandalia Healthcare and Senior Living facility on January 2, 2026.

 

Judith was born on July 31, 1945, in Clinton, IL. Daughter of Perry and Hilda Coppenbarger. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1963. Judith married David E. Welch on October 20, 1963, in Urbana, IL. The couple lived in Champaign, IL and had three children, David M., Deanna G., and Janet K. In 1969 they moved to Villa Grove, IL where she was involved in PTA and were members of the United Methodist Church.

 

After the children were older, she went back to school. She graduated from Parkland College with a Registered Nursing Degree. In 1985 Dave’s company (A.T.&T.) transferred him to the Collinsville, IL area where Judy put her degree to work in several nursing homes.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a baby sister, two brothers, and daughter Janet.

 

Judy is survived by her husband Dave, son David, daughter Deanna, granddaughter Courtney, grandson Darrion, and two great-granddaughters Skyleigh and Kynnedi.
