Anita K. Mullins

Anita K Mullins, 75 of Taylorville, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  She was born on June 24, 1950, in Decatur, the daughter of Leland and Doris (Foster) Allen.  She married Victor Mullins on November 21, 1980, in Decatur.  Anita worked for many years at Sangamon Card Company and later at Lighthouse Learning Center and TLC Childcare Plus in Taylorville.  She found her greatest joy in life’s simple, beautiful moments—long country drives where she delighted in watching the wildlife pass by, especially the deer she so loved to spot along the way. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by family, and big gatherings filled her heart with happiness. Her infectious laugh and playful giggle could light up any room, bringing warmth and comfort to all who heard it. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her gentle appreciation of nature, and the joy she so freely shared with everyone around her.

She is survived by her husband: Victor Mullins of Taylorville; children: Richard Hardas (Debbie) of Nokomis, and Julie Sisk (Bobby Loskot) of Witt; grandchildren: Dalton Sisk (Trisha Silva) of Nokomis, Kody Sisk (A.J.) of Owaneco, Amber Yoder (T.J.) of Findlay, Jessica Anderson (Eli) of Shelbyville, and Brandi Stines (Justin) of Irving; several great grandchildren; brother: Randy Allen (Joleen) of Chillicothe, and aunt: Sharon Riva of Mt. Zion.  She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law: Donald Sisk.

A funeral service for Anita will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating.  The visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
