Ivan Dean Waterman, age 87, of Harvel, passed away February 13, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on November 15, 1938, in Taylorville, IL. The son of Dan and Irene (Kurfiss) Waterman. He married the former Diana Montgomery at the Harvel Christian Church in Christian County on August 17, 1958. Ivan was farmer, an outdoorsman and an auctioneer; he enjoyed square dancing with the Calico Twirlers, horseback riding with family and friends, and motorcycle riding.

Ivan is survived by two sons, Ivan (Cindy) Waterman, Jr. of Livingston, and Joel (Connie) Waterman of Mt. Olive

One daughter, Jorene (Ed) Maedge of Staunton

Grandchildren, Hunter Waterman of Staunton, VaNicia Waterman of Peoria, Monte (Danielle) Waterman of Raymond, Parker Smith of Staunton, Sanna Waterman of Litchfield, Megan Waterman of Springfield, Kurtis Waterman of AZ, and Lucas Smith of Memphis

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Diana; a daughter-in-law Patty Waterman; a grand-daughter Sarah Nicole Waterman; sisters, Evelyn Rieman & Rita Durston; brothers, Jim Waterman and infant Dan Waterman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Hough Dean Funeral Home in Raymond, 512 E. Broad Street, Raymond. Pastor Lorna Blackford will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Benld Adopt-A-Pet, P.O. Box 53, Benld, IL  62009.
