Geraldine V. Beaty, 103 of Stonington, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, in her home.  She was born on September 8, 1922, in Stonington, the daughter of Patrick F. and Mary Bridget (Stapleton) Coady.  She married Arthur Eugene Beaty on May 8, 1943, in Taylorville, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2012.  Geraldine previously worked as a telephone operator, at a dress factory, and for the State of Illinois, Department of Revenue.  She was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church as well as the Altar and Rosary Society and CD of A.  Geraldine also volunteered as a member of the St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, baking, and cooking for her family. 

She is survived by her children: Patrick E. Beaty (Helen) of Leroy, Martha Naber (Ron) of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Karen Flynn (Russ) of Higley, Arizona, and Anita Myers (John) of Stonington; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson: Rick Myers; and siblings: Patrick Coady, Thersa Duni, and Ann Marucco. 

A funeral mass for Geraldine will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington with Fr. John Burnette officiating.  The visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass and burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Stonington Rescue Squad or the Holy Trinity Catholic Church ramp project fund.  McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
