Marcia Ann (Weber) Rosenthal

Marcia Ann (Weber) Rosenthal, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on April 12, 2026.

She was born July 25, 1952, in Springfield, Illinois, a daughter to the late Ivan and Claire Mae (Prose) Weber.

Marcia graduated from Morrisonville Community High School in 1970. She married Wayne A. Rosenthal on February 12, 1972, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, IL. Over the years, Marcia worked at Fiat Allis, the IL. Dept. of Corrections - Juvenile Division, and Top Drawer by Sarah Adele in Taylorville. Her true passion, however, was helping others. Marcia was a friend to all. Whether it was a ride to an appointment, running an errand, or just lending a helping hand, she was quick to help anyone who needed it. During the course of her volunteer years, Marcia could be found at the Christian County Medical Clinic in Morrisonville, helping with events/dinners through the Legion Auxiliary, and advocating for the town as a Morrisonville Village Board Trustee. Marcia also dedicated 38 years to the Morrisonville Community Ambulance Service as an EMT-B. During those years she held various board member positions, including President. Her proudest moment on the service was when she received her stork pin for helping bring a new life into the world. She is the only one to hold this achievement. Marcia sat on the Christian/Shelby County 911 board for many years. Marcia devoted time to the church as well, singing in the choir and advocating for the children of St. Maurice Catholic School as a board member. She enjoyed being involved with her kids and grandkids’ school activities and sporting events, often helping with concessions, the PMRA, Little Shoppers and much more. When Marcia wasn’t helping others, she enjoyed sewing. She learned to be a seamstress by working alongside her mother and used those skills for many area residents. She came to the rescue for alterations on daily clothes, special event dresses, and even wedding attire. When time allowed Marcia liked to travel. If asked, Marcia would tell you her greatest blessing was the beautiful family she and Wayne created. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her all-time favorite pastime.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Wayne of Morrisonville; three sons Dustin (Brooke) Rosenthal of Morrisonville, Sean (Sarah) Rosenthal of Rochester, and Casey (Kelsey) Rosenthal of Waggoner; grandchildren, Harper and Gavin Rosenthal, Kinley, Kadence, Reese and Rylie Rosenthal, and Bentley Rosenthal. She was excited for the arrival of another grandson, Hudson expected to arrive in May. She was survived as well by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her sister Arlene Kay Montgomery.
