Roy Lee Conrad, 80, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on April 15, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1946, the son of the late Mary Ellen (Morris) Conrad Livergood and Roy Edwin Conrad.

Roy graduated from Taylorville High School in 1964. He married Joelynda Livergood in 1966 and they had two children, Gay‘briel and Patrick Conrad. He worked for Peabody Coal Mine No. 10 for 25 years.

Roy leaves behind many loved ones: granddaughter: Kelsey Conrad of St. Louis, MO; his sisters: Cherie Ryan of Taylorville, IL; Merrell (Livergood) Hickey of Peoria, IL; brother-in-law: Tim Hickey; several nieces and great-nieces: Mickie (Wade) Ehrhardt; Paula (David) Collier; Stefanie (Carrie) Ryan; Lauren (Ryan) Gleason; Caitlin Parks; Payton Tucker; Elyse Hickey; as well as one nephew: Caidon Hickey; and his beloved little red dachshund: Darby.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. A funeral service will take place on the following day, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
