Brenda Finfrock

Brenda Finfrock, 72, of Taylorville, IL, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on April 18, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1953, in Taylorville, the daughter of Dale and Wanda (Showalter) Parks. On September 14, 1974, she married the love of her life, Norman Paul Finfrock, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2024.

Brenda graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 1971. Following her graduation, Brenda began a career as an Executive Secretary for Franklin Life which spanned 40 years. Later she dedicated 12 years as an Office Manager for Taylorville Care Center. Outside of her career, Brenda was a talented seamstress and loved to sew and express her creativity through other crafts. She was a member of a card club for 45 years with her dear friends and always looked forward to getting together with them. Brenda loved with her whole heart and is missed dearly by her loved ones.

Surviving are her children: Lindsey Finfrock of Taylorville, IL; Scott (Ashley) Finfrock of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren: Zane (Brooke Gerde) Finfrock of Forsyth, IL; Alexis Finfrock of Bloomington, IL; great-grandchild: Barrett Finfrock; siblings: Kathy Tingley of Terre Haute, IN; Sheila (Donnie) Corso of Taylorville, IL; Nancy (Corey) Hafliger of Taylorville, IL; Kyle (Terrie) Parks of Stonington, IL; Lyle (Kathleen) Parks of Taylorville, IL; sister-in-law: Marchia Hedrick of Oregon; brother-in-law: David (Cathy) Julius of Mt. Auburn, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Wanda Parks, her husband, Norman, as well as her brother-in-law, Don Tingley.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10:00-12:00 noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. A memorial service will begin at noon. Following the service, Brenda and her husband, Norman, will be laid to rest together at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Taylorville Food Pantry.
