Ronald L. Beck, 82 of Taylorville, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, in his home.  He was born on September 9, 1943, in Moweaqua, the son of Gail and Audrey (Behl) Beck.  He married Patricia S. DeMichael on August 31, 1963, in Stonington.  Ron was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  He previously worked for Western Electric and retired from the Christian County Highway Department.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and the Fighting Illini.  He loved spending time tending to his large garden and raised livestock including dairy cows, chickens and pigs at their home for many years.  More than anything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Beck of Taylorville; children: Mike Beck (Ginny) of Naperville, Mark Beck (C.J.) of Petersburg, Matt Beck (Melissa) of Springfield, and Michelle Beck of Taylorville; grandchildren: Ali Doherty, Tanner Beck, Cooper Beck (Brooklyn), Parker Beck, Madelyn Beck, and Carter Beck; great grandson: Ben Doherty; siblings: Roger Beck (Ginger) and Maxine Gregory; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron will be cremated and a memorial mass will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. John Burnette officiating.  A celebration of life will be held in the Holy Trinity Hall immediately following the mass.  Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Ramp Fund, Stonington Rescue Squad, or the Blue Mound Food Pantry.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
