Ray E. Duncan, 74, of Dawson, IL, passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, on April 20, 2026. Ray was born on September 7, 1952, in Grafton, IL, son of the late Charles and Anna Mae (Desherlia) Duncan. He selflessly served in the United States Army and after his service, he owned and operated a steam cleaning business. He was a loving father, and proud grandfather and is dearly missed.
Ray is survived by his children: Shane (Stephanie) Duncan; Isaac Duncan; grandchildren: Shaylee, Kol, and Elise Duncan; siblings: Carl (Yvonne) Duncan; Roger (Laurie) Duncan; Brenda (Joe) Duncan-Barthelemy; Margaret (Bob) Duncan-Hill; nieces and nephews: Jodie, Chase, Brittany, Bethany, Brayton, Natalie, Michele, Jennifer, Nina, Timmy, Stevie, Shane, Travis, and Virginia, and John Duncan; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Charlene, Marlene, Marie, and Barbara Duncan, as well as his brother, Mike Duncan.
Per the family’s wishes, Ray will be laid to rest during a private graveside service at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
