Barbara Jo Fleigle, 92 of Taylorville, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital.  She was born on February 23, 1934, in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of Benjamin B. and Vivian Barbara (Hardy) Jones.  She married Joseph Fleigle on November 8, 1952, in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2011.  Barb retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue and was a member of the Taylorville First United Methodist Church.  Barb was a kind and generous soul who found joy in both creativity and service to others. She had a deep love for oil painting and watercolors, often expressing her warmth and perspective through art. Barb devoted much of her time to helping those around her, volunteering at Taylorville Memorial Hospital and delivering meals through Meals on Wheels. Above all, she cherished her family—especially her children and grandchildren—who were the center of her world. She also found peace and happiness in gardening, nurturing beautiful flowers that reflected her gentle spirit. She will be remembered for her compassion, creativity, and unwavering love for others.

She is survived by her children: Christina Barrow (Nick) of Springfield, Melanie Howe (Kevin) of Lawton, Michigan, and Patrick Fleigle (Janet) of Pawnee; grandchildren: Heidi Henry, Justin Pop (Candice), Nicole Payne (Aaron), Holly Lutes (Nathan), Ashley Barrow (Bobby), and Megan Simpson (Travis); great grandchildren: Logan Payne, Maylee Payne, Wyatt Pop, Ashlyn Rose Henry, Landon Barrow, Joslyn Pop, Madeline Barrow, Rowan Pop, Abigail Barrow, Braxton Simpson, Tucker Simpson and Cooper Simpson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son: Michael Fleigle.

A funeral service for Barb will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at McClure Funeral Home with Pastor Brennan Hurley officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Chrisitan County Senior Citizens Center.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
