Ramona Mae Grundy

Ramona Mae Grundy, 94 of Morrisonville, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Taylorville Care Center. 

Ramona was born on February 14, 1932, in Peru Township, near Shelbyville, the only child of Hersheal and Imogene (Hawley) Bilyeu.  She graduated from Morrisonville High School.

She married Darrell Aloysius Grundy on November 25, 1950, in St. Maurice Catholic Church, Morrisonville, and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1977.  Ramona devoted her life to her family, raising four boys with love and discipline.  She also worked as a Mary Kay consultant for many years.  She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society. Ramona was a member of the National Catholic Society of Forresters, DAR, Christian County Farm Bureau, and the Christian County Ladies Landowner’s Society?.  She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises and playing cards-especially Pinochle. 

She is survived by her children: Michael (wife, Janet) Grundy, Gregory Grundy, Thomas (wife, Victoria S.) Grundy, and Steve (wife, Vicki J.) Grundy all of Morrisonville; grandchildren: Heather Beyers, Miranda (Brittney) Grundy, Jeffrey (Michelle) Grundy, Scott (Andrea) Grundy, Megan (Brian) Smith, Brandon (Sydney) Grundy, Katie Grundy, Jennifer Grundy?; great grandchildren: Mitchell (Vanessa) Beyers, Grayson (Kyle) Lynch, Leah Grundy, Bryce Grundy, Morgan Smith, Kessa Stephens, Libby Stephens, Asher Ross, Garrett Grundy, Olivia Grundy, Elliott Gilpin, Bella Ashley, and Willow Sarbaugh; and great-great grandchildren: Myles and Nash Lynch and Dean Beyers.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and granddaughter: Michelle Grundy.

A funeral mass for Ramona will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, with Rev. Florent Kanga officiating.  The visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville.  Burial will be in St. Maurice Cemetery, and memorials may be made to the Morrisonville Ambulance.  Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
