Jacob Ray Emerson, 50 of Taylorville, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  He was born on November 27, 1975, in Taylorville, the son of William Ray “Billy” Emerson and Nancy Carolyn (Disney) Emerson.  Jacob previously worked as a truck driver for Swift Transportation and SisBro Trucking.  He loved dogs, especially his Boxers. 

He is survived by his mother: Nancy Emerson; brothers: Scott Emerson and Todd Emerson all of Taylorville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents: Jacob William “Bill” Emerson, Rose Emerson, Elmer Disney, and Mildren Disney. 

Jacob will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
