William H, Jones, 87 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville. He was born on June 1, 1939, in Palmer, IL, the son of Thomas and Myrtle (Yard) Jones. He married Janet German on May 20, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, and they shared 65 years of wonderful marriage together. William was a member of Mound Lodge #122 AF & AM in Taylorville, Ansar Shrine, and the Taylorville VFW.  

 

William is survived by his son: William H. (Lynn) Jones II of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: William H. (Jamie) Jones III, Codi (Matt) Montague, Mandi (Linsey) Emerson, Autumn (Mike) Long, Holli (Brian) Turner, Seth (Mckenzie) Reber, many great-grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren, Brother: Bud Jones of Taylorville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Janet, Daughter: Rhonda (Ron) Emerson, Son: Greg Reber, two brothers and three sisters.  

 

William will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.

 

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
