Master Sgt. Stanley W. Crouch, 75, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 22, 1950, in DeKalb, IL, the son of Arthur R. and Barbara J. (Gromley) Crouch. He married Linda Foster on February 19, 1977. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2012.
Stanley graduated from West Aurora High School. He entered the Air Force and served 20 years as security police. He also earned his associates degree while in the military. After leaving the Air Force, he worked as an investigator for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for many years. After retiring from the state, he worked for Lake Shore Golf Course until his death. Stanley was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Bryan Crouch of Bryan, TX and David (Jennifer) Crouch of Taylorville, IL; a grandson, Spc. Kevin Williams of Ft. Riley, KS; a sister, Karen (Rudy) Albright of Somonauk, IL; and several nieces.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; niece, Hannah Albright; and a sister-in-law, Rhonda (Robert) Nelson.
As per Stanley’s wishes, cremation care is being accorded. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 11-12 pm at McClure Funeral Home, 302 W. Poplar Street, Taylorville, IL. A memorial ceremony will follow at 12 p.m.at McClure Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Smith officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Taylorville, IL, immediately after the funeral. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
