Carolyn Ruth (Fulk) Eggimann will not be cleaning and organizing her house today. She booked a flight on July 26, 2026, to meet Jesus, who she spoke to regularly and longed to meet personally. The voyage includes a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time, and takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, singing, cleaning, and organizing to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. It is certain to be a wonderful journey, but one from which she will not be returning.

Carolyn, born at home in Tovey, IL, on April 13, 1934, was raised in the Christian County area and became a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and homemaker. She met her future husband, Donald Walter Eggimann, when he came to work for her father on the farm. Don later joined the Air Force. They were married at the Tovey Methodist Church, October 26, 1952, when she was 18 and Don was 20. She then went to join Don in Bermuda, where he was stationed as a hurricane hunter with the USAF. They lived there for 26 more months.

When Don was discharged in 1955, they came back to Christian County where Don worked as a farm laborer. When the employer retired, Don became the farmer and for the rest of their lives they lived on and farmed that same ground. Carolyn also loved farming and the chance to get out and drive the tractor at planting time or hauling grain during harvest. Don and Carolyn were married 48 years before his death in 2000.

Carolyn was a Sunday school teacher and high school age youth leader at the Tovey Methodist Church. Her love of music brought many happy hours and introduced her to many wonderful friends. She was an organist or pianist (whichever the churches needed) and played for several churches in the area, among which were Tovey United Methodist, Kincaid United Methodist, Edinburg Christian, Divernon and Thayer United Methodist, and Mt. Auburn United Methodist.

Carolyn's flight departed July 26, 2026, and she was greeted by her husband, Don; her parents, Viola and Herschel Fulk; two brothers, Charles Lyle and Hallie Leroy Fulk; and son-in-law, Jeff Davis, all of whom made the crossing before her.

She was seen off by her children, Wendy Lynette Davis (companion, Terry Antoine), Dale Eggimann (wife, Julie), and Kenneth Eggimann. She was the grandmother “Granny” to Jacqueline Eggimann Stoldt, David Eggimann, Kirstie Davis Stubbs, Dylan Eggimann and Shane Eggimann; step-grandmother to Matthew Davis; she was also Granny to several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Carolyn is also survived by one nephew, Hallie “Butch” Fulk; and two nieces, Theresa Fulk Stade and Kristi Fulk Owsley.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Sutton Memorial Home.
