Betty Holt, age 100 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday night, August 19, 2026, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Visitation for Betty will be held Sunday, August 30, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Betty will be interred with her husband Kenny at Jefferson Barracks Nation Cemetery.
Elizabeth B. Hoey, the daughter of William and Libbye Kent Hoey, was born December 4, 1925, in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Betty and Kenny Holt were united in marriage on June 30, 1950. They enjoyed 60 years together, Kenny passed away on October 4, 2010. They moved to Greenville, Illinois in 1970 and Kenny started working for Dewey-Schildknecht Funeral Home and Betty drove the Bond County Community District School Bus. She drove for over 25 years, loving the children and keeping them safe on the bus. Betty and Kenny lived at the funeral home, and she helped him in the funeral business for many years. They were members of the Greenville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Betty did prison ministry by helping with a bible study at the Greenville Federal Correctional Institution for many years.
Surviving is their son K. Jeffery Holt and wife Jayne of St. Louis, grandchildren Kristopher (Meredith) Holt of Herculaneum, MO., Jonathan (Amanda) Holt of Barnhart, MO., and Benjamin (Adriana) Holt of Cape Girardeau, MO. Loving great-grandmother to Lenna Elizabeth Holt and Cordelia Mae Holt.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenny, and Betty was the last of her generation of 6 brothers and sisters.
