Tedra S. Johnson, age 82 of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Montrose Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Bond County Food Pantry.

 

Tedra S. Cunningham was born on September 30, 1943, in Hillsboro, Illinois. She was the daughter of Cary “Ted” Cunningham and Edith Mina DeShane. Tedra grew up on the Cunningham family farm, attended the local schools, and graduated from Greenville High School.

 

Tedra and William E. Johnson were united in marriage on September 15, 1962, in Greenville. They enjoyed 55 years together, Bill passed away on January 31, 2018. Tedra ran the Sears store in Greenville from 1989 to 1993. In retirement she and Bill went on several cruises including Alaska and Nova Scotia, and traveled the country in their RV. She was an excellent seamstress making many girls homecoming, prom and wedding dresses and a member of the Bond County Quilt Guild. Tedra also mastered the art of stained glass, knitting and crocheting and was always proud to show off her latest creation.

 

They are the parents of three children: Dan (JoAnne) Johnson of Mulberry Grove, Whitney (Tim) Compas of St. Louis, Missouri, and Ryan (Ashley) Johnson of Greenville. Loving grandmother to Michael (Elissa) Johnson, Nathan (Maureen) Johnson, Megan (Stephen) Wait, Sam Compas, Jackson Compas, Ryder Johnson, and Aubrey Johnson. Great-grandmother to Masen, Matilda, Max, Jesse, Isaac, Mara, and William.
