Norma Jean Dively of Taylorville

Norma Jean Dively, 87, of Taylorville passed away at 8:55pm Saturday, April 28, 2012 at her residence.  She was born April 12, 1925 in Taylorville, IL., the daughter of William "Buck" and Nellie Prior Waterman.  On April 18, 1946, she married Donald R. Dively, Sr. in Little Rock, ARK.  He preceded her in death on August 21, 1998.  During the war effort Mrs. Dively worked at the munitions plant and had worked at the dress factory in Taylorville, but her favorite occupation was being a wife and mother, and homemaker.

She is survived by her children:  Debby Crouch and husband Wayne of Ottawa, Donald Ray Dively, Jr. and wife June of Lakeway, TX., William Dively and wife Mary Jo, and David Dively and wife Peggy of Owaneco; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Linda Vonck officiating.  Burial will be in Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.

Clarence A. Williamson of Langleyville

Clarence A. Williamson, 82, of Langleyville, passed away April 28, 2012 at 8:23am in Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville.  He was born August 8, 1929 in Pana, IL., the son of Albert & Nellie (Carpenter) Williamson.  He married Lela Davis in March, 1982.  He was a material handler at Georgia Pacific for 24 years and a member of First Nazarene Church.

He is survived by his wife; son Dale Williamson of Springfield, IL.; step-sons, Darcy Metcalf, Bruce Metcalf & Mark Metcalf; daughters, Carol Michaud of Taylorville & Peggy Ross of Taylorville; 6 grandsons, numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 3:00pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Ed Heppe officiating.  Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Pana, IL.  Vistiation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 2-3pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

David Joe Joseph Neville of Taylorville

David "Joe" Joseph Neville, 66, of Taylorville, passed away April 27, 2012 at 2:45am in St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  He was born June 13, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN., the son of Walter and Alice Vincent Neville.  He married Rosemary "Shorty" Vancil Neville in September, 1968 in Taylorville.  He was self employed.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, Joe Neville and companion Adrienne of Taylorville, Jeff Neville of Taylorville and David and wife Audrey Neville of Palmer; brother Junior Neville of Witt; sister, Barb Durbin of Jeiseyville; 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews..  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10:00am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Chad Foster officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5-8pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Martha Cleo Braeuninger of Pawnee

Martha "Cleo" Braeuninger, 87, of Pawnee, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 5:42pm in Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.  She was born August 20, 1924 in Montgomery County, IL., the daughter of George and Eva (Lipe) Calamo.  She married Walter Charles Braeuninger in September, 1951 in Irving, IL. and he preceded her in death in July, 2011.  She was a homemaker. She attended the First United Methodist Church, was an active member of the Christian County Home Extension and the Friendly Neighbors Garden Club.

She is survived by son, Dennis (Julie) Braeuninger of Pawnee; daughters, Linda Braeuninger of Collinsville, Karen (Lee) Brockelsby of Edinburg and Cheryl (Bill) Davis of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandson Jaxson Murphy and brother Shirley Calame.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:00 am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.  Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville.  Visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 2012 from 5-8pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Della Ruth Myers of Stonington

Della Ruth Myers, 94, of Stonington, IL. passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare in Pana.  She was born October 1, 1917 in  Buckner, IL., the daughter of Lemuel and Catherine Carroll Burton.  She married Herschel Myers in February, 1938 in Stonington.  He preceded her in death in March, 1982.  Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington.

She is survived by her sons;  Larry Myers and wife Carol of Woodridge, IL., Richard Myers and wife Diana of Taylorville, and Paul Myers of Waynesville, IL.;  daughter, Janice Rabe and husband James of White Hall, IL.; son-in-law Leroy Blakeman, daughter-in-law Kay Myers and sister, Noreen Nolen of Placerville, CA.  There are 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John Myers, step sons Dwight Myers, Gerald Myers and Herschel C. Myers and step daughters, Elda Dodd and Shirley BLakeman, 1 grandchild and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 30 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington with Father Alan Hunter officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Sunday, April 29 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.

Lloyd Donald Linton of Edinburg

Lloyd Donald Linton 92, of Edinburg died at 1:56 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in St. Johns Hospital, Springfield, IL. He was born September 24, 1919 in Edinburg, IL the son of Lloyd and Birdie Prater Linton. He married Maxine Shaw on July 11, 1946 in Edinburg. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church for over 60 years and a member of the Board of Trustees of Bethel Baptist Church for 50 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and served on the Edinburg School Board.

He is survived by his son Lloyd W. (Kathy) Linton of Edinburg; daughter, Marsha Linton (Frank) Farr of Taylorville, grandchildren; D.R. (Nikki) Linton, Ashley Linton, Dylan Linton, Todd (Aubrie) Megginson, Abby Megginson, MacKenzie Stork and Morgan Farr, great grandchildren; Rand Linton, Sydney Stork and Brody DeClerek, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Avis Linton Sebastian and grandson; Rand Megginson.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church 1919 North 1000 East Road Sharpsburg, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church, Sharpsburg, IL. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Tovey, IL. Rev. Ted Marrinan will be officiating.

Gloria Hope Ozbirn of Taylorville

Gloria Hope Ozbirn, 84, of Taylorville passed away at 7:30am Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her residence.  She was born July 16, 1927 in Taylorville, the daughter of Delmar and Nellie Louise Emberton Michel.  Gloria was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Taylorville and a member of the Christian County Lady Landowners.

She is survived by her son:  Gary M. Reinhold and wife Leanne of San Clemente, CA.; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nancy Jo Talton and 2 sisters, Caroline Hogland and Norma Balaski.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Jim Wolfe officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Harold E. Turvey of Taylorville

Harold E. Turvey, 89, of Taylorville passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born September 18, 1922 in Taylorville, the son of Charles Nelson and Mable Lockhart Turvey. On May 29, 1948 he married Mary Eleanor Fungerburk at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. Harold along with his twin brother Harry enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 23, 1940, five days after their 18th birthday. Harold served in Puerto Rico, Panama Canal Zone, Guatemala, Galapagos Island, and Italy. He was a Master Sergeant in the 747th Bomb Squadron, 456th Bomb Group, and Serving as a Crew Chief of a B-24 Heavy Bomber.

After discharge from the military he attended Beloit College where he played football under coach Dolph Stanley, Harold held the position of Industrial Relations Manager at the Hopper Paper Company, later Georgia Pacific, where he was employed from 1949 until 1980. He then became manager of plaza Rental Properties in December of 1980, retiring in 1996.

Harold was active in the community and volunteered in numerous Civic and charitable organizations including The School of Light for Mentally Handicapped Children, The American Cancer Society, The United Way, The Chamber of Commerce, The Oak Hill Cemetery Board, The Knights of Columbus, and a Charter Member of the Taylorville Optimist Club. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Eleanor, and three sons: Hal Turvey, wife Jannis, of Taylorville, Mark Turvey, wife Lori, of Bolingbrook, and John Turvey, wife Jenny of Taylorville; Seven grandchildren: Dana Turvey, Daivd Turvey, Amy Turvey, Rachel Turvey, Hannah Turvey, Nathaniel and Eugene Turvey, wife Rose; Several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Ann Turvey Wells; granddaughter: Cassandra Wells; sister: Darlene Turvey Wilkie; brothers: Everett Turvey, Charles Turvey, Carl Turvey, Raymond Turvey, and Dale Turvey.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 17th, 2012 at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic in Taylorville with Father Alan hunter officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 7pm at McClure Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:45pm. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Danny Gene Mann of Apollo Beach, FL

Danny Gene Mann, 66, of Apollo Beach, FL., passed away April 4, 2012 at 8:35am in South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center, FL.  He was born January 29, 1946 in Taylorville, the son of Shirley Jean and Evelyn Louise (Smart) Mann.  He married Paulette Wagahoft in July, 1967 in Kincaid.  He was a retired supervisor for Ashland Oil Company.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville, Moose Club #1516 and VFW Post #4495 in Taylorville and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette; son, Todd (Kelly) Mann of Taylorville; daughters, Danetter (Phil) Herkett of Taylorville and Alicia (Tharin) Clarke of Morrisonville; brothers, Michael (Sandra) Mann, Darrell (Penny) Man and Allen Mann Sr. all of Taylorville; sister, Sheila (John) Corso of Taylorville; 8 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Mary and son Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:00am in Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Steve Switzer officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 5-8pm at Sutton Memorisl Home in Taylorville.

Jean F. Smith of Taylorville

Jean F. Smith, 80, of Taylorville, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 3:48am in Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born November 23, 1931 in Taylorville, the daughter of William and Nellie (Patterson) Vidmar. She married Cloyce L. “Turk” Smith on February 18, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2005. She was a production employee for GE and was a retired homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville.

She is survived by sons: Randy (Theresa) Smith of Anaheim, CA, Larry Smith of Mesa, AZ and Robert Smith of Wittier, CA; daughter: Judith L. Sims of Taylorville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Bill (Irene) Vidmar and John (Judy) Vidmar both of Taylorville and Don (Sidney) Vidmar of Rochester; sister: Wanda Blount of Taylorville; and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by: Parents, husband, son: Richard Smith, daughter-in-law: Shelby Smith and brother-in-law: Merlin Smith and grandson: Ricky Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pmTuesday, April 10, 2012 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
