Billie J. Whitby

Billie J. Whitby, 87 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 10:35 p.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on May 25, 1931 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Ralph and Amy Matilda (Hackle) Philamalee. She married F.M. Yeaman in 1945 and they were later divorced. She then married Lewis Elbert Whitby in 1961 and he preceded her in death. She worked as the office manager at Franks IGA for 30 years and she was a member of the Moose Lodge #1516, Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 1425 and a social member of the American Legion Post # 73. Billie loved to Bowl, Golf, play cards and be around her family.

She is survived by her Sons: Milo (Lynn) Yeaman of Taylorville, IL, Bill (Susie) Yeaman of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Nancy (Philip) Ellett of Bloomington, IL; Grandchildren: Katherine Reed, William M. Yeaman, Trisha Engelhardt, Tracy Sassatelli-Ward, Roy Wilbur Jr. and Michelle (Jon) Hergett; Twelve Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Karen Kader of Taylorville, IL; Anita Moore of Lincoln, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Ruth M. Spinner

Ruth M. Spinner, 80 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 4:48 p.m. at Heritage Health Care Center Hospice in Springfield, IL. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Mike and Dorothy (Krouse) Banko. She married Paul Larry Spinner on May 18, 1957 in Taylorville. Ruth worked for years at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital. She later worked in the cafeteria at the Taylorville Schools and Taylorville Care Center and she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ruth passed away surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by her family along with her squirrels and birds that she loved to feed.

Surviving are her son: Larry (Mona) Spinner of Moncks Corner, S.C; Grandchildren: Savannah (Seth) Clark and Alexandria Vancea.; Sisters: Emma Cowgill of Troy, IL; Janet (Alvin) Mizeur of Owaneco, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law. Joyce A. Nation, 63 of Glenarm, IL formerly of Taylorville passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 6:15 a.m. at her home in Glenarm, IL. She was born on January 23, 1956 in Morrisonville, IL the daughter of Kenneth and Juanita (Fleigle) Nation. She married Daniel Yates Jr. on October 25, 2015 in the Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville. Joy worked as a seamstress at her business JoySmile Sewing, and as a pianist at Davis Memorial Christian Church and Legacy Theater in Springfield, IL. 
She is survived by her Husband: Daniel Yates Jr. of Glenarm, IL; Sons: Randall (Melissa) Deal of Algonquin, IL; Levi Knipmeyer of Beardstown, IL; Daughters: April (Jay) Risinger of Raleigh, NC; Laynee Knipmeyer of St. Louis, MO; Grandchildren: Avery, Emma, and Jack Risinger; Sienna and Autumn Deal; Hannah Parker, Haley Blair, and Broady Kunz; Brother: Bruce Nation of Taylorville, IL; Sister: Karen Herman of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents.

Judith S. Brown

Judith S. Brown, 74 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 4:30 a.m. at Prairie Rose Health Care Center in Pana, IL. She was born on August 18, 1944 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Floyd and Geneva (Jones) Tirey. She married Glenn Brown on July 10, 1963 in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2016. She was the owner and operator of the Greenhouse in Moweaqua, IL.

She is survived by her Sons: Billy Brown of Taylorville, IL; Derrick Brown of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Veronica Brown of Taylorville, IL and Amber (Ed) Pocklington of Carlinville, IL; Grandchildren: Sierra Brown, Madison and Elijah Wilkins, Jacklyn and Alyssa Brown; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and a Son and Daughter in infancy.

There will be no services and Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Nancy Ruth Jay

Nancy Ruth Jay, 68 of Vandalia passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 10:05 p.m. at her home in Vandalia, IL. She was born on January 30, 1951 in Hillsboro, IL the daughter of Clifford C. and Doris (Porter) Snider. She married Floyd E. Jay Sr. in 1985 in and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2017. Nancy worked at Fedders and was a Social Member of the American Legion Post #1021 in Keysport, IL and Teamsters.

She is survived by her Granddaughters: Brianna Maness and Brittney Frailey both of Vandalia, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Harmony Grace Carroll, Charlie Frailey and Rhyann Frailey; Sister: Hope Schulte and Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Daughter: Tammie Kay Guyot, Brothers: Donald Snider and Philip Snider and Sisters: Jane Lynch and Ada Snider.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 12:00 noon in Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen, IL. There will be no visitation.

Janice M. Kroenlein

Janice M. Kroenlein, 79 of Nokomis passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 4:01 p.m. at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. She was born on April 2, 1940 in Witt, IL the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (Williams) Degg. She married Lyle Kroenlein on June 23, 1962 in Witt, IL and he preceded her in death on September 7, 2013. Janice worked as a homemaker and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Witt and the Sewing for Missions.

She is survived by her Daughter: Kristi Kroenlein and son-in-law Steve Sherer of Peoria; Grand dogs and grand cats; Sisters: Joyce Brengard of Witt, IL; Niece: Michel Hefley, Nephews: Mike Brengard, Jeff Koches; Great- Nephews: Bob Hefley, Levi Koches, Alec Koches, Kolton Koches, Nash Koches, Barret Koches and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son Mark Kroenlein, Sister: Joann Koches, Nephew Joe Koches, and pets.

Karen S. Spurgeon

Karen S. Spurgeon, 70, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Heritage Health Hospice in Springfield, IL.

Karen was born March 4, 1949 in Pana, IL, the daughter of William Eugene and Sarah Kathryn (Caulk) Mayberry. She married John E. “Joe” Spurgeon on July 25, 1971 in East St. Louis, IL.

Karen graduated from Morrisonville High School, and then went on to be a beautician. She worked beside her sister at JoAnn’s Beauty Salon for many years, and then later at The Vogue Hair Salon in Taylorville. After retiring as a hairdresser, Karen worked as a phlebotomist for St. John’s and then the Blood Bank for many years. She enjoyed spending time at Lake Taylorville with her family and friends, boating, truck pulls, attending her grandchildren’s ball games, and going to the riverboat. Karen was a member of the Moose Lodge #1516 in Taylorville, and the First Baptist Church of Morrisonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, JoAnn Parker; and brother-in-law, Gary Spurgeon.

Karen is survived by her husband, Joe Spurgeon of Morrisonville, IL; children, Kirk (companion, Mary Lee Miller) Spurgeon of Morrisonville, IL, and Kellie Jo (companion, Jeremy Brown) Spurgeon-Sheedy of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren, Kelsey Leanne (companion, Jerod Foster) Sheedy of Taylorville, IL, Cole Andrew Sheedy of Denver, CO, Kaysey Jayne Spurgeon of Morrisonville, IL, and John Wyatt Spurgeon of Morrisonville, IL; siblings, Sandy (husband, Paul) Miles of Springfield, IL, and Billy (wife, Linda) Mayberry of Decatur, IL; brothers-in-law, John H. Robert W. Wilke, 64 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 8:41 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. He was born on February 22, 1955 in Flora, IL the son of Raymond and Betty (McGrew) Wilke. He married Dawn Durbin on September 15, 2009 in Manistee, MI. Robert was a retired gauger and truck driver for Country Mark Co-op and was a member of American Legion Post 14 in Flora, IL.

He is survived by his wife: Dawn Wilke of Taylorville, IL; brother: William Wilke of Louisville, IL; niece: Marcy (Ken) Kwiatkowski of Manhattan, IL; mother- in- law: Rhea Sue Beaird of Taylorville, IL; sisters- in -law: Diane (Gary) Sassatelli of Taylorville, IL, Denise (John) Sassatelli of Taylorville, IL, Deeann Durbin of Springfield, IL, Glenda (Nick) Clark of Edinburg, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Diane Rohr.

Joe Pete Lush

Joe Pete Lush, 90 of Morrisonville, passed away at 6:22 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Pana, Illinois. He was born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929, in Stonington, the son of Martin Washington and Anna Florence (Oliver) Lush. He married Marcella E Herkert on October 24, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2015. He was an Army veteran, having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a life-long farmer in the Morrisonville area, operated a corn-shelling service, and worked for many years as a custodian at the Secretary of State in Springfield. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville and the Knights of Columbus. Joe was a skilled mechanic and welder who could fix anything and fabricated countless projects from metal during his life. He could always be found with his pipe and loved bowling, square dancing with Marcella, and listening to country music. During his time in the service he had a hobby of taking and developing photographs. He had a love for camping and traveling with his family to all parts of the country. Joe was a fan of both NASCAR and Indy car racing and a die-hard ford enthusiast.

He is survived by his children: Wanda Moore of Morrisonville, Dennis Lush (Joyce) of Taylorville, Brenda Whalen (companion Jim Beaty) of Morrisonville, Christine Lush of Morrisonville, Ronald Lush (Doris) of Kincaid, and Martha Neal (Sam) of Pawnee; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings: Erma Horrell, Martin Leo Lush, Norma Herkert, and Linda Lou Lush.

A funeral mass for Joe will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial with military honors will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.

Kristy Tryon Brown

Kristy Tryon Brown, 41, of Taylorville, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 10:48 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.

Kristy was born November 9, 1977 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Lynn and Kathy (Blount) Tryon.  She married Chad Brown on May 9, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.

Kristy graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1995, and was currently employed by the State of Illinois Division of Motor Vehicle in Springfield.  She was crafty, enjoyed cooking, was an avid animal lover, and loved boating and camping.  Kristy was a member of Taylorville Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Murl E. and M. Fay (Sagle) Tryon; maternal grandparents, George and Marjorie (McKinnie) Blount; and uncle, M. Leon Tryon.

Kristy is survived by her husband, Chad Brown of Taylorville, IL; son, Brayden Austin Moore of Taylorville, IL; father, Lynn Tryon of Morrisonville, IL; mother, Kathy (Rick) Tryon Mizeur of Owaneco, IL; brother, Doug (Megan) Tryon of Palmer, IL; nieces and nephews, Austin, Bella, and Mason; father-in-law, Randy Brown of Taylorville, IL; mother-in-law, Dana Davies of Taylorville, IL; brother-in-law, Jeremy (companion, Kellie Spurgeon-Sheedy) of Taylorville, IL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Taylorville Christian Church, 1124 N. Webster St., Taylorville, IL 62568.

Interment will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery.

Donald L. Stiner

Donald L. Stiner, 92, of Moweaqua, died April 14, 2019 in Heritage Manor, Pana, IL.

Funeral services, with full military honors, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Seitz Funeral Home. Masonic services will follow at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Donald was born September 27,1926, in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Ernest and Tressie (Ewing) Stiner.  He married Emma Lois Porter June 23, 1948 in Shelbyville, IL.  She preceded him in death April 9, 2004.

Donald was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of God, American Legion Post #257 of Stonington, Masonic Lodge of Owaneco, Eagles Lodge of Taylorville and Caterpillar Campers Club.  Donald was retired from Caterpillar and an Army Veteran, serving during WWII.

Surviving are his sons: Donald “Denny” (Maureen) Stiner of Owaneco, IL and Terry (Crystal) Stiner of Windsor, IL; daughters: Mary (David) Brazel of Overland, MO and Donna (Keith) Willey of FL; daughter-in-law, Shirley Stiner of Sullivan, IL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren and sisters: Josephine Gillen of FL and Goldie Ragan of Shelbyville, IL.

Preceding him in death is his wife, Emma, son, Chuck Stiner, parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Vicky Handlin

Vicky Elaine Handlin, 71 of Taylorville passed away at 12:03 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 in her home.  She was born on November 14, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Stanton) Norris.  She worked as a CNA providing in-home care services.  She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs.  

She is survived by her sons: Frederick Burtle (Gloria) of New Braunfels, Texas and Shawn Burtle (Katie) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Sasha Villarreal (Rodolfo) of Texas, Aryel Burtle of Texas, Kianna Burtle of Texas, Chloe Mulvaney (Trey) of Kincaid, and Lucy Burtle of Taylorville; great grandchildren: Ebony Villarreal, Aria Villarreal, Lettie Mulvaney, and Lane Mulvaney; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Harry “Dick” Norris, Charlie Joe Norris, Lela Mae Durbin, Sandra Lou Vargas, Brenda Kay Fleming, and Judith Florine Sterling.

A funeral service for Vicky will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Mildred Ippolito

Mildred Ippolito, 84 of Springfield formerly of Witt, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on November 23, 1934 the daughter of Joseph and Dorcas Lapsansky. Millie had an associates degree in Liberal Arts from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield and an associates degree in Horticulture/landscape design from Kishwaukee College in Malta. She worked for the military and naval department for eleven years and later retired from the State Board of Education. Her favorite things to do were taking vacations, playing slot machines, watching horse races (and betting on them), reading and having picnics. There are two sayings Millie liked, one was: “If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a life time.” And “Help others if you can. If you can’t help, at least do no harm.”
Surviving are her daughter: Melody Lyons of Lincoln, IL and four auxiliary children: Sue Nation, Jennifer Walker, Roberta Johnson and Robert Lovell; Brother Alvin Lapsansky. She is preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Witt Cemetery in Witt, IL with Pastor Louann Stuart officiating.

Chester R. Bassana

Chester R. Bassana, 83 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 9:20 a.m. at his home in Taylorville, IL. He was born on September 1, 1935 in Langleyville, IL the son of Chester and Lucille (Fassino) Bassana. He married JoAnn Wilson on June 2, 1956 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Chester worked at PPG Industries, he was a member of St. Mar’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, he was a lifelong cub fan and animal lover.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years JoAnn BAssana of Taylorville; Son: Greg (Cheri) Bassana; Daughter: Cindy (Dale) Workman; Five Step-Grandchildren; Four Step-Great Grandchildren; Sisters-in-Law: Lillian Young and Barbara Radzmanowski; Brother-in-Law: Bill Radzimanowski; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Msgr. David Lantz officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Debra Lynn Cline, 64 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday April 6, 2019 at 4:08 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 10, 1954 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Alvin and Margie (Nance) Sparling. She married John Cline on January 9, 1970 in Kincaid, IL. Debra worked as a homemaker.

George R. Browning

George R. Browning, 66, of Taylorville passed away at 4:47 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born on September 15, 1952 in Malvern, Arkansas, the son of Robert Oscar and Martha Lorene (Lovell) Browning.  He married Tracy Newingham on August 8, 2015 in Taylorville.  He was a veteran of the US Army where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.  George had many occupations throughout his life and most recently worked as a truck driver.  He loved riding his motorcycle and was a supporter of BACA- Bikers Against Child Abuse.  He had a gift for working on any type of engine and enjoyed playing pool. 

 

He is survived by his wife: Tracy Browning of Taylorville; children: Tammy Browning of Taylorville, Gina Mollet (Kenny) of Taylorville, Megan Rozzelle (Nathaniel) of San Diego, California, Codi Browning of Arkansas, Jennifer Browning of Arkansas, Jordyn Browning of Taylorville, and Garrett Browning of Loami; 15 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; step-children: Amber Rynders (Kyle Brown), Ashley Rynders, Shanae Smith, Jacy Smith, and Dustin Smith all of Taylorville; 5 step-grandchildren; sister: Karen Beavers (Dennis) of Kincaid and Teresa Stone of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: George & Jessie Lovell; and infant brother: Phillip Eugene Wingo.

 

Mr. Browning will be cremated and the family with host a celebration of his life at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the American Legion in Taylorville.

Barbara Carolyn " Carol" Diedrich

Barbara Carolyn " Carol" Diedrich, 75, of Edinburg, IL passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Carol was born on June 6, 1943 in Mount Auburn, IL to Wilbur and Evelyn Wicker. She worked at Sangamon Greeting Card Company for 25 years on the floor and as a shipping supervisor. After Sangamon she went to work at Bunn and retired while working at Honeywell Hobbs.  Carol bowled for many years on woman leagues at the Olde Bowling Alley in Taylorville and was a diehard St Louis Cardinal baseball fan.

Carol is survived by her son:  Gary Diedrich of Edinburg, IL; sisters:  Joann Hafliger of Edinburg, IL and Sandy Blakely of West Frankfort, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Alice; and three brothers, Jack Wicker, Charles Wicker, and James "JR" Wicker.

It was Carol’s wishes to be cremated and have no services. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Jereme L. Goebel

Jereme L. Goebel, 44, of Orland Park, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019.

Jereme was born April 1, 1975, in Springfield, IL, the son of Kristina Yattoni and Lenny Goebel. He was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church in Orland Park, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, and worked in landscaping. Jereme married Jill Boehm on June 18, 2016. He was an all-around good guy who never met a stranger

Surviving are his wife Jill; mother Kriss and stepfather Phil DeRochi; father Lenny and stepmother Carolyn Goebel; brother, Will Goebel; stepsiblings: Rochelle DeRochi, Elisha (Brandon) Schnieders, Angel (Chris) MacGibbon, and Brad (Jessica) Bell; nephew, Giuseppe Goebel: niece, Carmela Goebel; step nieces: Julie, Bennett and Quinn; step nephews: Brady, Jamieson, Gavin and Duncan; grandmother, Thelma Goebel, step grandmother, Eleanor DeRochi; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jereme was preceded in death by his sister, Natalie and grandparents, Reno and Grace Yattoni and Carl Goebel.

Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2019 from 3 to 7 pm at Living Word Lutheran Church, 16301 Wolf Road, Orland Park, IL. An additional visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 10 am until the service time of 2 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.

Nancy Elizabeth Kaylor

Nancy Elizabeth Kaylor, 68 of Antioch TN formerly of Springfield, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 2:07 a.m. at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 6, 1950 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Robert E. and Jane Elizabeth (Harris) Timm. She married Richard Kaylor and they later divorced. Nancy worked as a nurse in Nashville, TN for several hospitals, she was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #88 and Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN.   

She is survived by her Sons: Charles (Linda) Kaylor of Owensboro, KY; Richard Kaylor of Greenbriar, TN, Aaron Kaylor of Antioch, TN; Timothy Ryan (Jewell) Kaylor of Pleasant View, TN; Daughters: Stephanie Tellez of Murfreesboro, TN; Andrea Serrao of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren: Jayne Elizabeth Timm, Taylor Serrao, Tristan Kaylor, Alyssia Kaylor, Brianna Karleen Kaylor, Maxwell Lela Kaylor, Jayden Cassius Kaylor, Kianna Madison Kaylor and Aaron Matthew Kaylor; Brother: James Timm of Kincaid, IL; Sisters: Bev Oller, Linda Timm and Susan Holdman; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Donnie Harris

Donnie Harris, 55, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away at 8:08 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence.
 
Donnie was born April 3, 1964 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Joseph E. and Loretta (Scott) Harris.  He graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1982, and worked for Sorrell’s Elevator in Raymond for 5 years.  He then went to work in the family business with his dad, Harris Tree Service until his retirement.  Donnie lived life to the fullest, having fun with everything he did.  In his younger days, he loved to mud in the “Blue Mule” and “Bad Attitude”, as well as boating on Lake Taylorville and at Lake of the Ozarks.  Donnie was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, and an avid St. Louis Cardinals and professional wrestling fan.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Billy Joe Harris.

Donnie is survived by his sisters, Diane (Pat) Kane and Marietta (Gary) Dunkirk, both of Morrisonville, IL; nephew, Dereke (Chelsea) Dunkirk of Morrisonville, IL; nieces, Ashley Dunkirk (Rhett) Niewinski of Minneola, FL, and Courtney Kane (Jake) DeClerck of Taylorville, IL; great nieces and great nephews, Adelaide, Gentry, Rigby, Joscelyn, Kohen, Gunnar, Gage, Zoe, and Tinsley; 4 aunts; and several cousins.

Visitation & Prayer Service: The family will receive guests from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin St., Morrisonville, IL 62546.  The visitation will begin with a prayer service.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019 at St. Maurice Catholic Church, 706 SE 4th St., Morrisonville, IL 62546 with the Very Rev. Albert Allen, V.F. celebrant.

Wilmette "Sue" L. Lott-Babbs

Wilmette “Sue” L. Lott-Babbs, 72 of Taylorville passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in her home. She was born on January 27, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of Willard and Charlotte (Britz) Churchill. She married Virgil E. “Gene” Babbs on October 26, 2001 in Nashville, Tennessee. Sue worked for several years at C.A. Dawson Lumber in Springfield and later for the Illinois Secretary of State. Gene and Sue shared a love of building and built several homes together over the years.

She is survived by her husband: Gene Babbs of Taylorville; son: Brian Lott (Kellie) of Springfield; step-sons: Terry Babbs (Danette) of Kincaid and Craig Babbs (Melissa) of Springfield; step-daughters: Vicki Spencer (Dave) of Ft. Myers, Florida, Kathy Bojarzin (Dave) of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Jeanette Johnson (Derrick) of St. Charles; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister.

Sue will be cremated, and a graveside memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield with Robert Spencer officiating.

Jack Roland Pearce, Jr.

Jack Roland Pearce, Jr. 55, of Taylorville passed away on April 2, 2019 at his home. He was born on October 2, 1963 in Taylorville, the son of Jack R. and Susan R. (Brooks) Pearce. Jack married Jill Taylor on November 13, 1993 at the Taylorville Country Club. Jack graduated from Taylorville High School in 1981 and attended Rochester Community College, Rochester, MN. He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings football fan. Many remember Jack from Ray’s Place and McCarty’s restaurants before starting a career in Illinois State Government. He worked for the Secretary of State and the Illinois Human Rights Commission in several positions, including legislative liaison. Himself an Alpha-1 patient, he went on to work for CSL Behring as a Patient Advocate. He formed valuable friendships with Alpha-1 patients and their families from across the country. Through social media, he was able to maintain those friendships even after travel was no longer possible. Jack was raised with a strong community-minded appreciation for Taylorville and Christian County. He served on the Christian County Board for nearly twenty years. Jack was a member of the Taylorville Evangelical Free Church where he played guitar with the praise team. He enjoyed free time as a social member at the VFW, spending time with his rescue beagles, Abby and Minnie, playing guitar, watching sports, arguing politics and soaking up the summer sun.

Jack is survived by his wife, Jill Pearce of Taylorville; son, Jack Pearce, III of Springfield; mother, Susan Pearce of Taylorville; sister; Jo Beth Pearce of Taylorville; nephew, Matt Pearce of Taylorville; aunt, Becky Mazzotti of Taylorville; cousins, Shelli Smith (husband Marty) and Lori Hart (husband Dave), Clark, Clyde, Chuck and Jay Pearce and their families; father-in-law, Jerry and wife Dotti Taylor of Morrisonville; mother-in-law Joann Taylor of Taylorville. He will be sadly missed by his numerous other in-laws, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Maxine Brooks, Jr. and Clyde and Mable Pearce; father, Jack Pearce, Sr., Uncles John Mazzotti and J.C. Pearce, and Aunt Marilyn Pearce.

Robert Worley Nickle

Robert Worley Nickle, 80 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 9:50 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on April 7, 1938 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Wyley A. and Ruth G. (Edwards) Nickle. He married Mary Badman on June 10, 1967 in Taylorville, IL and she preceded him in death on November 11, 1999. Robert worked at Circle Steel in Taylorville, was an elder in the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Taylorville, and a volunteer at Taylorville Correctional Center for 25 years.

He is survived by his Sister Janet Tarble of Marshall, IL; Niece: Deena Firehammer, Nephews: Mike Brown and Anson Badman. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his Wife, 6 sisters and 3 Brothers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 3:00-4:00 p.m, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Taylorville, IL. A Talk will follow starting at 4:00 p.m. with Aaron Wright speaking. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Robert Eugene Radzimanowsky

Robert Eugene Radzimanowsky, 66 of Taylorville, passed away at 10:08 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 30, 1952 in Taylorville, the son of Fritz Paul and Eleanor (Durbin) Radzimanowsky. He worked as a butcher at McCabe’s Packing Plant for many years.

He is survived by his brother: John (Debbie) Radzimanowsky; sister: Mary Tolle; and uncle: Bill (Barb) Radzimanowski all of Taylorville as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Paul, Fritz, Thomas, and Ronald Radzimanowsky.

Robert will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date. Leland Wayne LeFever

Leland Wayne LeFever, 82 of Palmer passed away on April1, 2019 at 11:18 am at Life’s Journey Senior Living Center in Taylorville, IL.  He was born on October 18, 1936 in rural Taylorville, IL the son of Wayne Jacob and Mildred Irene (Prasun) LeFever.  He married Nola Vincent on March 24, 1957 in Stonington, IL.  Leland began his hardworking background at A & P Grocery Store loading and unloading trucks with several friendly competitions of who could stack the boxes higher between the city boys or the good ole country boys. Then onto several welding jobs locally only to end up doing what he loved the most, farming and raising cattle for over 60 years.  Along the way he also had a disc sharpening business from his country home and a crop insurance adjuster in his spare time.  He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Morrisonville, IL.  Leland proudly was a member of the local Ansar Shrine, a 50-year member of the Morrisonville Lodge #681 AF & AM, Twist ‘n Twirl Square Dance Club, and served for several years on the Morrisonville School Board. His comical personality always left everyone walking away with a smile on their face; he never knew a stranger. Leland had a knack of making friends and starting conversations where ever he went.  His love of music was apparent through the humming and whistling he was always known for.   And the occasional changing of the words in the tunes to draw a chuckle from his family. You could always hear him in the stands cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.

Leland’s love of his family will shine on for years through his living legacy; his wife, Nola, 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He is survived by his children: Steve LeFever of Morrisonville; Susan (Joe) Saputo of Rochester; Sara (Jason) Wake of Tovey; Stacey (Tom) Kirkman of Williamsville; Grandchildren: Renea (Rob) Coberly, Stephanie LeFever, Jen (Thom) Blinkinsop, Andrew Owens, Greg (Sarah) Owens, Gabe Owens, Haylee Kirkman, Zach Wake, Vincent Wake, Aubrey Kirkman, Lilly Wake and Wesley Kirkman; Great-Grandchildren; Camryn, Cooper and Callum Coberly and Henry Owens; his only sibling: Elaine (Fred) Vangeison and Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Josie Yvonne Ford-King

Josie Yvonne Ford-King, 90 of Springfield formerly of Stonington, IL passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 7:36 p.m. at Heritage Health Care Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on May 26, 1928 in Converse, LA the daughter of Joseph Franklin and Zula Candice (Boyd) Ford. She married Donald Lee King on April 30, 1946 in Griffin, IN and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2012. Josie worked as a homemaker and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Auburn, IL.

She is survived by her Son: Jonathon (Noemi) King of Carterville, IL; Daughter: Carol Lee King of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Michael Harris; Jonathan, Roy, Jacob, and Hope Raimerz; Kaylee King; D.J.
