Velma R. Calvert, 92 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 12:20 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on September 30, 1923 in Mc Daniels, KY the Daughter of Ira Delphus and Leora Maude (Wilson) Stone. She married Ralph Calvert on October 12, 1957 in Taylorville, IL.  She worked as a waitress at Kings Café, 48 Café and Bills Toasty. She was also a nurse’s aid at St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She graduated from Taylorville High school in 1942; Velma was a wonderful mother who made great sacrifices to care for her children. She had a sharp wit and lovely sense of humor. She was a faithful member of the Taylorville congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses. Velma loved reading her bible and looked forward to its promise of the resurrection of dead loved ones into restored earthly paradise. She devoted much time to sharing her bible based hopes with others. Her endurance despite many hardships and loyal love will be greatly missed. 

Surviving are her Husband Ralph of Taylorville; Daughter: Bonnie Uptain of Little Rock, AR; Sons: Jim C. Wingo of Taylorville and William (Talya) Calvert of Clinton; Grandchildren: Kevin and Jon Wingo, and Missi Sullivan, Christy Leach, Quinnie, Zayin, and Emerald Calvert; Five Great-Grandchildren; two Great-Great-Granddaughters; Sister: Coralie Beard of Mt. Sterling, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter: Vicki, Grandson: Jackie Wingo; and three Brothers: Alton, James and Gordon Stone.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Taylorville.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with David Patterson Officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Bernard Wayne Moss Sr. Bernard was born November 10, 1927 in Decatur, IL the son of Wayne D. and Doris M. (Dalluge) Moss. He married Patricia L. Galbraith on September 4, 1970. He was a lifetime farmer in the Moweaqua area and worked for several years at A.E. Staley’s in Decatur. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict serving in the Army mostly in Korea. Bernard was a wonderful husband and father who loved his family dearly and he was dearly loved in return. He was happy and satisfied with his accomplishments in life. 

He is survived by his Wife Patricia; Son, Bernard Wayne Moss Jr. (Wife Hilary) of Rochester, IL; Daughters: Brenda Oliver of Rock Island, IL; Linda Moss of Iowa City, IA; Step Daughter: Cheryl Lawrence- Prather (Husband Richard) of Springfield, IL: Step-Daughter-in-Law: Cindy Blair of Edinburg, IL; Grandchildren: Kiley, Kelsey, and Zachary Moss of Washington State. Carole Ann (Brown) Taylor, 81, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home of fifty two years, at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Born October 19, 1934 to Ross and Edna (Yocom) Brown in Decatur, IL, she grew up in Stonington, graduating in 1953 from Stonington High School.

She married Norman Eugene Taylor, her high school sweetheart, there, on July 15, 1956 and shared nearly forty years of marriage before his death on May 3, 1996.  They moved to Rosewood Heights in 1963 as Norman, a physician specializing in family medicine, joined a newly established primary care practice.

Carole lived a life of joy and service to her community.    Carole was a dedicated member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for fifty three years, and served in many volunteer capacities, most recently as the Chair of the Memorials Committee.  She was actively involved in the Alton Christan Woman's Club, serving as the Chairperson of this local chapter of Stonecroft Ministries at the time of her death.  She was a member of the Illinois State Medical Society Alliance (ISMSA) for fifty six years and serviced on its board for twenty-five years; she served four terms as the President of the Madison County Medical Alliance.  She was a Girl Scout Leader; Cub Scout Den Mother; and a secretary of Job Daughters-Bethel 88.  In later years, she lovingly supported her grandchildren in sports and other pursuits.

Carole's warm hospitality and generosity made her home a destination for the friends of her children and all she met.  She hosted visiting missionaries and speakers; Bible study groups; Rotary Club holiday parties; and the occasional fish fry.  She loved to entertain guests and her dining room hosted many family dinners and gatherings.

Carole is survived by her four children, Jill (Taylor) Sullivan and william Sullivan of Hudson, MA; Judy (Taylor) Woods and Steve Woods of Alton; Jim and Karen (Wade) Taylor of Edwardsville; Jennifer (Taylor) Fix and Robert Fix of Burleson, TX; as well as by five beloved granddaughters, Mallory (Taylor) Sidarous and Matt Sidarous of Edwardsville, Vanessa (Taylor) Paradee and Steven Paradee of Edwardsville, Katelyn (Woods) Profancik and Nick Profancik of St. Louis, Erin Woods of Alton, Juliana Sullivan of Hudson, MA; step-grandchildren, Angela Fix of Chuluota, FL, Jill (Fix) Sucha and Tim of Crowley, TX; she is blessed with four great-grandchildren, Isaac and Leah Sidarous, Elaina and Taylor Paradee; step- great-grandson, Matthew Fix; brother, Gary Brown and Carol (McKinney) of Taylorville; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Taylor) Klay and Roy Klay of Wayne, MI; nieces, Cheryl (Klay) Walsh of Howell, MI, Diane (Brown) Reid of Taylorville; nephews, Kris Klay of Gaylord, MI, Doug Brown and Gary Ross Brown of Taylorville; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Eugene Taylor, MD; parents, Ross and Edna Brown; and in-laws, Charles and Virginia Taylor.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood heights, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29.  Pastor Daryl Fansler will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.

Linzy Adair Michael, age 46

Linzy Adair Michael, of Nokomis, Illinois, passed away at 11:59 PM - Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at his home.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Mt. Linzy was born on September 2, 1969, in Pana, Illinois, the son of Herschel Woody and Francis Anita (Adair) Michael.  He graduated from Nokomis High School in 1988, and earned his business management degree from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. Linzy was a farmer, owned Michael Family pressure washing, and worked for Aumann Auction, Inc. for the last 12 years.  He also bought and sold farm equipment.

Linzy attended Grace Baptist Church and was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau.  He loved going to auctions to find new treasures and spending time with his children.

Ralph Edward Harrison, 83 of Tucson, AZ formerly of Taylorville passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 in Dallas, TX.

He was born on August 30, 1932 at Mount Eagle, TN the youngest son of James Clyde and Adeline (Morton) Harrison. His family later moved to Stonington where he graduated from Taylorville High School in 1950. He then attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. After college he joined the Marines where he was a Corporal in the First Marine Division of the 11^th Battalion in the Korean War.

After returning from the war, Ralph met and married Janice Jane Johnson on December 30, 1954. He and his family lived in Taylorville where he operated his family business, Harrison Motor Sales until selling the business and retiring in 1995 to Tucson, AZ to continue to perfect his golf game.

After the passing of his wife in 2002, Ralph continued traveling around the United States in his motor home. He was later joined by his longtime companion Myra Joy Turner of Dallas, TX. He became a campground host at Custer State Park in South Dakota until 2014.

Survivors include: Daughter, Samantha (Duane) McBeath of Gilbert, AZ; Sons, Aaron (Tara) Harrison of Brighton, CO and Bruce (Heather) Harrison of Marana, AZ; Grandchildren, Madison and Sydney McBeath and Raegan and Kaden Harrison;

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Janice, Son, Ralphie Jr., Siblings, Jimmy, Billy and Betty.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial with military funeral honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Jimmie Lee Sager 79 of Tovey passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11:53 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. He was born on March 28, 1937 in German Township in Richland County, IL the Son of Earl and Ida (Rooney) Sager. He married Barbara Bowman in September 20, 1959 in Springfield, IL and they were later divorced.  He was a warehouse foreman and a truck driver for Prarie Wholesale in Springfield, IL for 25 years. Jimmie loved auctions, WWE Wrestling, and he was an avid Cardinal and Nascar Fan.

John Michael “Mike” Peabody, 64 of Taylorville, died peacefully in his home of natural causes on Monday June 20, 2016.

Mike was born on May 21, 1952 in Taylorville, the son of Roy and Edna “Frankie” (Elshoff) Peabody. Mike served his country proudly in the United States Army. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Sangamon State University, and went on to retire from the Federal Government in the Department of Child and Family Services as a caseworker. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus.

Mike is survived by his siblings: David (Peggy) Peabody of Aurora, IL; Dean (Pam) Peabody of Taylorville; Kevin (Sharon) Peabody of Taylorville; Nancy (Joe) Mateer of Stonington; Jeff (Betty) Peabody of Taylorville; Carolyn (Doug) Brown of Taylorville; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews who all adored him; and many cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Moody L. Myers, 73, of Taylorville, died at 1:23 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Moody was born on August 31, 1942 in Taylorville, the son of Louis L. and Lorean V. (Nickles) Myers. He enjoyed working as a motorcycle mechanic for most of his life.

Mr. Myers is survived by his nephews: Derrick (Jamie) Myers of Morrisonville, and Skyler Myers of Taylorville; great nephew: Jerren Myers; and sister-in-law: Kim Myers of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one bother: Terry Myers.

There will be no public service. Burial will take place in Glenhaven Cemetery at a later date.

Marion Guggenheim joined the party on May 14, 1928, the daughter of Emmett Smith Ross and Ethel Mary nee Algeo Ross. She left the party on June 20, 2016.

After graduating John Marshall High School and entering a business administration degree from Spencerian College, Marion entered the workforce in 1952 at General Motors tank manufacturing plant in Cleveland. She met and married Jay A. Guggenheim, and had 4 children. She returned to the workforce when her three oldest children went off to college and then later moved to Taylorville, Illinois with her youngest child. Marion worked for a variety of nonprofit agencies, ranging from developmentally disabled to healthcare issues to human rights. She eventually earned a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from DePaul University and moved to Chicago, Illinois. She retired from work at Loyola Hospital in 1998 and moved back to Taylorville to help her daughter Gay and “favorite” son-in-law John raise a family and live out the rest of her years with the love of her life, William R. Estes.

Never one to stop moving, even in retirement, Marion worked at Memorial School and the YMCA. An inveterate traveler, Marion visited Alaska, Hawaii, and Greece several times. She also ventured to Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Spain, Ireland, England, France, Italy and Sicily. Well-known for her riverboat-style bridge playing and color-crazy quilting, Marion expanded her circle of friends in Taylorville while having a great time. With no regrets, having lived a wonderful life, Marion encourages us all to “Just Do it!”

Marion leaves behind 4 children: Susan of Philadelphia, PA: David (Fran) of Murphysboro, IL; Isadora of Nyack, NY; and Gay (John) Wilhour of Owaneco, IL. She will also be sadly missed by her six grandchildren: Linden Eskanazi and Liana Mark of PA, Ryen Wilhour of SC, Johannah and Madeleine of Taylorville, Sean Wilhour of Bloomington, and Eva Enzenbacher of Australia.

At this time there will be no services. A Memorial/Open House luncheon is planned at a later date for friends and family to get together, share stories about Marion, and eat good food! A notice will be placed in the paperindicating the date, time, and location.

Donations to a charity of your choice in her memory would please her greatly. She liked to support Christian County animal control, the Sierra Club, the ALS Organization, local Methodist churches, education, public television and radio and any organization to help women, veterans, animals, or victims of strokes.

A former long-time Taylorville businessman has died.  Ralph Harrison owned and operated Harrison Motors at the corner of Webster and West Main Cross, for decades until retiring over 10 years ago. 

Harrison had spent his retirement years traveling, including coming back to Taylorville in 2014 for the 150th Anniversary of Taylorville and Christian County, and the 60th anniversary of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club.  He was the last surviving charter member of the club.

Harrison died Friday night.  Funeral arrangements are pending.

Roger D. Morgason 64, of Taylorville, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.  He was born on August 30, 1951 in Pana, IL. The son of Alfred Dale and Jo Ann (Durbin) Morgason. He worked for the city of Taylorville water and sewer department for many years.

He is survived by his sons: Tim (Melody) Morgason, and Christopher (Melissa) Morgason both of Taylorville, IL; daughter: Kimberly Morgason and companion James Buss of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Zachery Morgason, Brady Dale Morgason, Peyton Morgason, Parker Morgason, Lealand Buss, Neissa Sanders, Alicia Rivers all of Taylorville, IL Laura Oller of Hillsboro, IL; brothers: Wayne Rex Morgason of Winchester, IL, Samuel Brian Morgason of Bethany, IL, Daniel Bruce Morgason of Taylorville, IL, Darryl Gene Morgason of Taylorville, IL; Sisters: Phyllis Townsley of Danville, IL, Sarah Crabtree of Burlington, IA, and  Wanda Morgason of Taylorville, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ellenar L. Crawford, 99 of Taylorville, IL passed away, Saturday June 11, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Prarie Rose Health Care Center in Pana, IL.  She was born on August 17, 1916 in Bulpitt, IL daughter of Robert Edward and Cecil Francis (Nevins) Crawford. Donald E. Large of Owaneco, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on June 7, 2016, at the age of 94.

Donald Edward Large was born April 7, 1922 on Buckeye Prairie, southwest of Owaneco, the son of Martha Wilcox Large and Kanola Guy Large. Don has resided on the same farm for his entire life. Donald married Marcella Marie High on August 17, 1947 at Old Stonington Baptist Church. He was a member of Buckeye Methodist Church for all 94 years of his life.

He attended Buckeye, Owaneco, and Greenville, NY grade schools. Don went to Owaneco High School for 2 years, and graduated from Taylorville High School in 1941. Due to his father’s ill health and advanced age, Don started farming and milking cows while he was still in high school.

Don was active in his community and many organizations. He served as 4-H Club Leader of the Buckeye 3B’s Club for 25 years. He served on the Christian County Farm Bureau Board, Southern Illinois Breeding Association Board, Christian County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the Christian County Fair Board, Dairy Superintendent of the Christian County Fair, Owaneco Fire District Board, Mid-Illinois Elevator Board, Federal Land Bank Board of Directors, 50+ year member and past-president of Locust Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of Rosalind Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Escort of Eastern Star in 1991, member of Ansar Shrine, President of the Christian County Shrine Club, member of Ansar Three-Wheelers. Member of Knight Templar, Royal Arch Masons, and the Valley of Springfield Consistory.

He is survived by his wife, three children: Donna (Richard) Douglas of Kankakee, IL, David (Barbara) Large of Owaneco, and Janet (Ronald) Roglis of Glenarm; six grandchildren: Erin Douglas of Chicago, Matthew Douglas of Chicago, Jeff (Kate) Large of Springfield, Jennifer (Brad) Nobbe of Waterloo, Brian (Kristin) Roglis of Springfield, and Abbey (Michael) Dirksen of Springfield. He also has six great-grandchildren: David, Alice, and Rose Large, Charlie, Gianna, and Sam Roglis.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Loeva Butterfield and Emma Mae Large, and two brothers: Joseph W. Large and Theodore Large.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016, at McClure Funeral Home, with Rev. Betty Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 – 7 p.m., with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date. Harriet E. White, 90, of Taylorville, went to her Heavenly home at 10:24 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Harriet was ushered in by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She joins her beloved husband, Carlyle, and her family and friends who have gone before her.

Harriet was born on April 26, 1926 in Taylorville, the daughter of Harry A. and Iva (Lopossa) Brubeck. She attended Prairie Lea School through 8^th grade, and graduated from Taylorville High School in 1944. She married Carlyle S. White, the love of her life, on July 7, 1946, and they will celebrate their 70^th wedding anniversary this year in Heaven. Harriet was a member of Taylorville Evangelical Free Church and women’s group there. In addition to being a homemaker, Harriet was proud of her many jobs throughout the years including: The Flower Pot, Sunshine Feed Store, Sangamon Card Company, Wareham’s Dairy, Lindsey’s Bait Shop, and The County Seat.  She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and the Taylorville Area Christian Women’s Club. She was a coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon Call Center and loved inspiring volunteers. She also volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Drive several times, and was a passionate advocate for the Loving Arms Crisis Pregnancy Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, bowling, and cooking for others. Harriet was so proud of her family, and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, just as much as they adored her. Harriet was a selfless woman who genuinely treated everyone she met as a great friend. For most of her life Harriet set a daily example of compassion, humility, and empathy. She truly enjoyed opening her heart and her home to anyone in need. Her presence will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched.

She leaves behind her daughters: Sheryl (Max) Klemm, Kathy (Jim) Lindsey, Carla (Don) Readhead, Beth (Steve) Markwell, all of Taylorville; grandchildren: Molly Bee Lindsey, Jim C. (Lyndsay) Lindsey, Logan, Grace, and Luke Markwell, all of Taylorville, Michelle (Joel) Tjelmeland, Melissa (Ryan) Jerome, both of Rochester, Amy (Bryce) Benton, Ivy (Seth) Molen, both of Springfield, Noah (Ellen) Readhead of St. Louis; great grandchildren: Spencer Lilly, Preston, Faith, and Edee Lindsey, Ellie and Lucy Tjelmeland, Paisley and Jack Jerome; brother, James F. (Barbie) Brubeck of Florida, and his family; nephews and nieces: Harry Brubeck, David Brubeck, Becky Nicol, Denise Mears, Terri Payne, Brenda Williams, Carol Marshall Weist, Suzie Weiss, and Frank “Butch” White.

Along with her husband, Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Jean Ellis, and one grandson: Jonathon Markwell.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Taylorville Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Jim Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Grove City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her honor to: the Taylorville Evangelical Free Church, Taylorville Emergency Food Pantry, or the Cochlear Implant Awareness Foundation.  McClure Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

A year of bravely battling cancer, James L. O’Brien went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:25 p.m. He was born in Schram City Illinois to Bob and Elizabeth O’Brien on May 11, 1937. He graduated from Hillsboro High school in 1955. He married Barbara Spencer on January 27, 1962 in Morrisonville, Illinois.

Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville, IL. Jim Loved Taylorville and spent much of his life volunteering for the community. He coached little league, pony league and served as an afterschool mentor for children. Jim was an avid Tornado basketball and football fan. Jim served as the president of the park board in Taylorville and was active in delivering meals on wheels. When SHADOW home first started in Taylorville, Jim was very active in working to make the home  livable. Jim loved classic and antique cars and enjoyed going to car shows where he won several trophies.

Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, their adorable Yorkie Maggie, Niece Kristen and Husband Dr. Phil Fragassi, and their sons Anthony and Mitchell Fragassi. Nephews David and Robert (Wife Linda) O’Brien all of Ohio. Jim was also survived by sister-in-law Sharon (Paul) Nation of Taylorville, Wilma (Steve) Durbin of Sullivan; Brother-in-laws Elmer Bausch of Decatur, Richard Badoerk of Clinton and Robert Greenwood of Morrisonville, along with several other nieces and nephews who adored him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Elizabeth O’Brien and Brother William and wife Ginny O’Brien.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home with Pastor Bart Spencer officiating. Burial will be held in Morrisonville cemetery in Morrisonville, IL following the service.

Mr. Mark Szabo, 51, of Taylorville, IL passed away at 11:24 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at home.

He was born July 7, 1964 in Taylorville, IL the son of Joseph and Patricia (Petty) Szabo.

Mark was an attorney and worked over 25 years in the U.S. Federal Court System.  He owned Matrix Gym in Taylorville, IL.  Mr. Szabo was an excellent chef.  He loved spending time with his friends.

Surviving are his sister Diane (Dan) Muhs and a nephew Joey Muhs all of Olney, IL., an uncle Alex “Sam” Szabo of Tovey, IL., an aunt Joan Petty of Corona Del Mar, CA along with a great many cousins and a host of close friends.

Allen Armstrong Johnson was born on November 11, 1932 in Elmhurst, IL and passed away on June 1, 2016 at the age of 83 at 6:05 p.m. the son of Allen C. and Minnie (Armstrong) Johnson. He married Barbara Cottman on April 9, 1954 and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2015. He was an active member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Taylorville, serving as an elder for many years. He and his wife Barbara came to Taylorville in 1962 where he began working at Circle Steel Corporation as Chief Engineer.    

He is survived by his son Allen D. (Theresa) Johnson; Deborah J. (Darrell) Beshears; Grandchildren: Karena, Timothy, Daniel, Shane, Heather, Joshua, Sarah, Jonathan; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; one sister Lois (Russ) Bentsen of Woodstock, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and his four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12 from 1:30-2:30 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with a talk at 2:30 p.m. with Rick Schilly officiating. Private inurnment will be held at an earlier date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.

Michael Lee Pugsley, 65 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:10 a.m. in the comfort and loving home of great friends. He was born on May 1, 1951 in Pana, IL the Son of Robert E. and Carletta R. (Weber) Pugsley. He married Barbara Yonker on in 1985 in Taylorville and they later divorced.  He  worked for Corn State Hybrid Service out of Des Moines, IA for 20 plus years; and mold remediation for the past 10 years. Michael was a member and baptized in the RLDS Church in Taylorville, IL. He is a master Mason of Mound Lodge #122 AF & AM and is a 32^nd degree mason at the Valley of Springfield, IL. He was called hardtack by his great friends from High school. He coached for the red bland Little League and was also a coach for the Taylorville JFL for many years. His favorite band was Steely Dan. He loved music, he had a great sense of humor and he was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend.    

Surviving are his Daughters: Jessica and Kristina of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Cody Pugsley of Taylorville, IL; Chad Pugsley of Altamonte Springs, FL; Grandchildren: Gabriella Pugsley of Taylorville, IL; Emma Jean Pugsley; Preston Lindsey of Taylorville, IL; Sister: Debbie (Rock) Allen of Taylorville, IL; Aunts and Uncles: Mary (John) Castle of Pana, IL; Mary Pugsley of Pana, IL; Cousins: Bridget (Randy) Floyd of Pana, IL; Tim (Susie) Castle of Pana, IL, Lois Antosy of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandparents: Oscar and Elsie Weber; Ivory and Emma Pugsley; Uncle: Joe Pugsley; Aunt and Uncle Del and Betty Russell; Louis and Carrie Weber, several cousins and his K-9 companion Spencer Pugsley.

There will be no services at this time, Inurnment will be held at a later date.
