Bruce E. Briggs of Stonington

Bruce E. Briggs, 59, of Stonington, IL died at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL.

He was born July 25, 1953 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Louis F. and Helen Louise McClelland Briggs.  On August 11, 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jane Coffey in Old Stonington Baptist Church.  Bruce was a 5th generation farmer on the family farm that originated 157 years ago. He was a member and Moderator at Old Stonington Baptist Church.  He graduated from Stonington High School in 1971 and went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he graduated with a degree in Ag Science in 1975.  He was a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. Bruce was a member and former President of the Stonington Lions Club, member and past President of Stonington Cooperative Grain, member of Christian County Farm Bureau, and Christian County Master Gardeners.

Surviving is his wife, Nancy Briggs of Stonington; Sons: L. Adam Briggs and fiancée Elizabeth Kerch of Brooklyn, NY and R. Ben Briggs and wife Abby of Stonington; Daughter: L. Allison Briggs of Madison, WI; Sisters: Dr. Beverly Briggs and husband Henry Stevens of Beaverton, OR, Margi Briggs-Casson of Steamboat Springs, CO, Nancy Carlson and husband John of Muncie, IN, and Marti Brown and husband
Charles of Dekalb. Aunt: “Aunt Bea” Briggs of Decatur.  There are several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Megan Corine Briggs.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 1 at Old Stonington Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Lohr and Rev. Angie Jackson officiating.  Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service in the church on Saturday.

Alice Helene Cichon Westrick of Taylorville

Alice Helene Cichon Westrick, 88, of Taylorville, IL died at 4:00 am, Monday, May 27, 2013 at her residence.

She was born April 13, 1925 in Berwyn, IL, the daughter of Walter and Frances Brodnicki Cichon.  George and Alice met on May 17, 1942 and on April 3, 1948 she married George Alfred Westrick in St. Odilo’s Catholic Church in Berwyn, IL.  Mrs. Westrick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and was a 63 year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  She was a co-founder of St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (now Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary), she was on the Auxiliary Board from its inception in 1955 until 5 years ago, a member of the St.Vincent Memorial Hospital Lay Board, she was involved with the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Bazaars from their inception, received the Clementine Zerr Award in 1993.  Mrs. Westrick was a concert pianist in Chicago before coming to Taylorville 65 years ago.

Surviving are her husband: George Westrick of Taylorville; Son: Tom Westrick and wife Carol of Springfield; Daughters: Dr. Mary Alice Westrick and husband Dr. Thomas Gonwa of Jacksonville, FL, and Barbara Anne Westrick of Taylorville.  Grandchildren: Claire Gonwa of Nashville, TN, Charlotte Gonwa of Philadelphia, PA, Matthew White and wife Christina of O’Fallon, MO, Michael Westrick White and wife Joanna of Jacksonville, FL, Anne Ackerson and husband Brian of Omaha, NE, Nicole Westrick of Glendale, CA, and Michelle Westrick of Springfield, IL;  Great Grandchildren: David White, Audrey White and George White all of O’Fallon, MO, Katherine White and Andrew Westrick White of Jacksonville, FL, Lauren Ackerson, Adam Ackerson and Mary Helene Ackerson all of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Leonard Cichon.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, May 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church with Father Alan Hunter officiating.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 108 West Adams, Taylorville, IL. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.

Larry Ira Wright of Taylorville

Larry Ira Wright, 71, of Taylorville, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 9:15 p.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville. He was born November 24, 1941 in Hillsboro, IL. The Son of Ira and Margaret (White) Wright. He married Rebecca Harbaugh on December 5, 1987 in Taylorville, IL. He Worked as a Manager at McDonalds in Taylorville and Pana for 30 years. He also was the owner of Wright on the square prom and women’s 70’s Clothing store and also worked at Blakley’s department store. He was the youngest member of the Hillsboro High school class of 1959, never missed a class reunion, and was a graduate of Greenville College. He was also a Member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville, IL  

He is survived by his Wife: Rebecca; Daughters: Elizabeth Wright of Taylorville, IL and Margaret (Matt) Carlen of Springfield, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Christopher Lawrence Wright, 1 Sister Lucille. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Taylorville. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.

Linda Kay Dugan of Taylorville

Linda Kay Dugan, 62, of Taylorville, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born July 19, 1950 in Taylorville, IL. The Daughter of Victor and Roberta (Hunt) Sebben. She married Gaylord Dugan on September 7, 1968 in Taylorville, IL. She worked as a pharmacy technician at WalMart in Taylorville . She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the 40 miles per Hour Club, and she was also an avid cubs fan.   

She is survived by her Sons: Michael Dugan, Jason Dugan both of Taylorville; Daughter: Amanda Dugan-Marten  and husband Richard of Bulpitt; Grandchildren: Jeffery Dugan and Lindsey May Marten; Brothers: Greg Sebben, John Sebben and companion Ada Tanner, and Kevin Sebben of Taylorville; Sister: Diane Sebben-Chevalier and Husband Rick of Taylorville; Several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grandparents, Nephew Chad Melton and Special Cousin Tina Sebben.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11:00am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Marie D. Whittaker of Taylorville

Marie D. Whittaker, 88, of Taylorville, IL died at 10:14 am, Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville.

She was born June 20, 1924 in Phillips, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Lena Maderich Klaar.  On September 7, 1955 she married John W. Whittaker in Hernando, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2004.  Mrs. Whittaker was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and Illini Basketball fan.  She owned and operated a lawn care business for many years.

Surviving are her sons: William “Woody” Whittaker, and Brad Whittaker and wife Pam all of Taylorville, and Brent Whittaker of Chicago.  Grandchildren: Heather Whittaker, Samantha Whittaker, David Whittaker, and Travis Whittaker.  Brother: Phil Klaar of Phillips, WI.  There are several Nieces and Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Son, Robert John Whittaker, Brother: Frank Klaar, and Sister: Mabel Beechum.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 28 at McClure Funeral Home with Fr. Mariadas Chatla officiating.  Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service in the funeral home.

Paul Arthur Gebhart of Edinburg

Paul Arthur Gebhart, 62, of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:17 a.m. at his residence in Edinburg. He was born October 30, 1951 in Taylorville, IL. The Son of Arthur and Ruby (Young) Gebhart. He married Cindy Garinger in 1973 in Champaign, IL and they were later divorced. He worked as a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the University of Illinois Livestock judging team, Varsity Men’s Glee Club and Theta Xi Fraternity. He was also the past president of the Christian County Farm Bureau, founder of one of the regional II organic growers, past president of IL Stewardship Alliance, OMNI Ventures, Illinois Sustainable Agriculture Network.

He is survived by his Son: Cody (Shawna) Gebhart of Marion, IL; Daughters: Maggie Gebhart of Taylorville, IL; Molly (Sam) Williams of Benton, IL; Grandchildren: Beckett and Cohen Gebhart; Sisters: Pennie (John) Crinion of Downers Grove, IL; Rebecca (Bob) Steiner of Taylorville, IL; Nieces: Monica and Maureen Crinon of Chicago, IL; Best Friend: Janet Guhlstorf. He was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 27, 2013 at 10:00am at Stonington United Methodist Church in Stonington with Rev. Ray Radae officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 2:00-6:00pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Glen L. Dyer of Taylorville

Glen L. Dyer, 72, of Taylorville, passed away May 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born September 26, 1940 in Virginia, IL. The Son of Joseph Glen and Margerite Trene (Mclin) Dyer. He married Patsy Wilkerson on October 6, 1962 in Springfield, IL. He worked as a phone operator.

He is survived by his Wife: Patsy; Son: Jeff Dyer of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Sisters and 1 brother.

Leonard W. Nail of Mt. Auburn

 Leonard W. Nail, 80, of Mt. Auburn, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 4:35 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born July 16, 1932 in O’Fallon, IL. The Son of Theodore and Ruby (Cavinder) Nail. He married Fay Anderson on July 3, 1972 in Grove City, IL and she later preceded him in death on June 5, 2006. He was a welder at Bowman’s welding and Caterpillar. He later became a bus driver for Mt. Auburn School District for several years and worked at DeKalb. After retiring he helped Fay run their daycare center up until her death. In his younger years, Leonard loved to hunt and fish. He was a volunteer firefighter for Mt. Auburn for 25years. He loved his kids and they loved him in return. The family requests casual attire to be worn to services.

He is survived by his Sons: Tom (Myra) Nail of Taylorville, IL Wayne (Cheri) Nail of Litchfield; Daughters: Michelle (Fiance Mike Hencken) of Mantooth of St. Louis, MO. Joseph N. Bertucci of Taylorville

Joseph N. Bertucci, 86, of Taylorville, IL died at 4:50 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1927 in Kincaid, IL the son of Louis J. and Marguerite Kuntzman Bertucci.  On September 17, 1960 he married Mary Smergl in Oak Park, IL.  Mr. Bertucci retired from the Chicago Police Department in 1982 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving is his wife: Mary Bertucci of Taylorville, Daughter: Bonita B. Cockey and husband Preston O. Cockey, Jr. of Tampa, FL, and a Sister: Peggy Mitchell of Taylorville.  5 Grandchildren: Melissa Klay Hagen, William Louis Bertucci, Preston Morgan Cockey, Andrew Joseph Cockey, and Rachael Jean Cockey. There are 3 Great Grandchildren: Camille Bertucci, Preston K. Hagen, and Reilly K. Hagen.  There are several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemary Cashin.

Charles R. Savage of Taylorville

Charles R. Savage, 76, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:21 pm Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 18, 1936 in Quincy, IL the son of Charles and June Twaddle Savage.  He was a retired over the road truck driver. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his children: David Royal Savage and wife Janis, Miriam C. Hood and Don Bolton of Vermont, IL, Kristina Palmer and husband Randy of Rushville, IL and Camilla Fowler and husband Rick of Littleton, IL. Faithful companion: “Cricket.” There are 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.  One Brother, Donald Savage and wife Jane of Kewanee survives as well as Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews.

Jack Laverne Bell of Taylorville

Jack Laverne Bell, 69, of Taylorville, IL died at 12:19 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at his residence.

He was born May 26, 1943 in DeQuincy, LA the son of Johnnie and Beulah Welch Bell. In January 1986 he married Delores “Dodie” Bass in Taylorville.  Mr. Bell was a lineman and backhoe operator with Local 965 in Springfield.  He retired in 1998 due to health reasons after 40 years of work.  Jack was a hardworking man all his life.  He and his wife Delores spent over 27 years of marriage together.  He loved his wife, all three of his kids, and all five of his grandkids were the light of his life.

Surviving is his wife: Delores “Dodie” Bell of Taylorville; children: Amber Bell and companion Arthur McClain, Jr. and Jeff Bell and wife Angela all of Taylorville, and Jason Bell and wife Kaysha of Vian, OK. Grandchildren: Dalton Bell, Bryan Bell, Ben Bell, Jacqueline Bell, and Katelyn Bell.  2 Sisters: Velma Streams and Marion Whittington both of DeQuincy, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Huey Shirley and Gerald Bell, and Sisters: Versie Belle and Marie Ragel.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at McClure Funeral Home with Pastor Philip Neumann officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday at McClure Funeral Home.

Salah Sam Shehedeh of Taylorville

Salah “Sam” Shehadeh, 67, of Taylorville, passed away on May 15, 2013 at 6:40 a.m. at his residence in Taylorville, IL. He was born January 6, 1946 in Beit Nuba, Palestine, the son of Ali and Fatima Shehadeh. He was an Insurance Salesman for Prudential Insurance Company and many other insurance companies. He was a member of the Optimist’s Club, Masons and the YMCA.

He is survived by his son Jamal Shehadeh of Taylorville, IL; daughters: Nora (Terry) George of Cocoa, FL and Sara Shehadeh of Taylorville, IL ; grandsons: Tyler and Tanner George of Cocoa, FL; granddaughter: Ellyanna Kiel of Taylorville, IL; brothers: Ahmad, Anwar, Esam and Barkat Shehadeh of Amman, Jordan; sisters: Zaheeyah, of New Beit Nuba, Palestine, Miriam, Zahwa and Kareema of Amman, Jordan; He is also survived by an extended family living in England, Cuba, Palestine, Jordan, Saudia Arabia, Florida, California and Chicago, He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Hikmat and Minwer and his son: Jacob.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 for 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, IL.

Traditional Muslim Burial Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, IL.

John Jack Edward Bauer of Taylorville

John “Jack” Edward Bauer, 90, of Taylorville, passed away on May 14, 2013 at 11:55 a.m. at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. He was born March 27, 1923 in New Trier Township, Cook County, IL; the son of Edward and Agnes (Sweeney) Bauer. He married Marilyn Proska in 1960. They have celebrated fifty-two years of marriage. Jack retired after working eleven years for Daktronic Electronics Company of South Dakota as a District Sales Manager in Illinois. Prior to his job with Daktronic Electronics, Jack worked for J.S. Paluch Religious Publishers. He also worked for eighteen years as a Medical Representative for Phillips-Roxane Pharmaceutical Company. Jack was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; Litchfield Deanery Pastoral Council; Legion of Mary, Taylorville. VFW; Marine Corps League; Association of FMF Combat Medical Personnel; U.S. Marine Night Fighters Association; Past member of the 3rd & 4th Degree Knights of Columbus & Alhambra. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific and the Korean War, as Fleet Marine Force Corpsman. He was also an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son: Tobias “Toby” (Mary Jean) Bauer of Kingsland, GA; daughter: Mrs. Therese “Teri” (Phil) Younker o Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Rebecca Bauer and Eric Bauer of Kingsland, GA, Alexander and Kelsey Younker of Taylorville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; seven sisters and grandson: Nicholas Younker

Jean M. Sartore of Naples, FL

Jean M. Sartore, 83, of Naples, FL died at 1:30 pm Monday, May 13, 2013 in Harbor Chase Healthcare in Naples, FL.

She was born February 7, 1930 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Attilio and Millie Smulders Susin.  Jean and her husband lived in the suburbs of Chicago, St. Paul, MN and Kansas City, as well as in Naples.  They made life-long friendships at each location. Jean will be missed by all who knew her and were captivated by her infectious smile.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald Sartore and her two sons, David Sartore of Chicago, IL and Stephen Sartore of Greenville, SC.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 20 with Father Alan Hunter officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:15 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.

Betty E. Davis of Taylorville

Betty E. Davis, 89, of Taylorville, IL, died at 3:00 am Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at her residence.

She was born December 30, 1923 in Aukland, New Zealand, the daughter of William and Ella Middleton Terry.  In 1944 she married Roy Leach in New Zealand and he preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Robert Davis in 1970 and he preceded her in 1983.

Surviving are her daughters: Shirley Niethe and Cathy Leach of Taylorville, and Marlo Bailey of Arkansas.  There are 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great-great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 brother, 1 sister, a Grandchild and one Great-great Grandchild.

Frank Waterman, 64, of Nokomis, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 3:48 p.m. Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born October 3, 1948 in Taylorville, IL. The Son of Raymond and Goldie Waterman. He married Dottie Mansfield on October 22, 1966 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, IL. He worked as a lifelong farmer and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL.

He is survived by his Wife: Dottie; Son: Christopher (Mandee) Waterman of Nokomis, IL; Daughter: Jane Aumann of Nokomis, IL; Grandchildren: Brooks Moreland, Lexy Waterman, Tucker Aumann, Quinton Aumann, Ellee Waterman, Elijah Aumann, Rilee Waterman; Brothers: John Waterman of Springfield, IL; Vic (Paula) of Palmer, IL; Sisters: Lala Cordts of Pekin, IL; Shirley Harris of Springfield, IL; Thresa Heins of Springfield, IL; Marge (Joe) Mirande of Bartonville, IL; Sister-in-Law: Carol Waterman of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother Mike Waterman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL with Father Dan Willenborg officiating assisted by Rev. Ric Miles. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis.

Wilma D. Tolle of Taylorville

Wilma D. Tolle, 91, of Taylorville, IL died at 9:50 am, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Taylorville Care Center.

She was born to James and Julia Wright Tolle on June 10, 1921 in Taylorville.  She graduated from Taylorville Township High School with the Class of 1939. After graduation she was employed by Sangamon Greeting Card Company for 46 years.  Wilma was a member of Davis Memorial Christian where she was an active member until recent years.  She was also a member of the Sangamon 25 year Club, Christian County Senior Citizens, Christian Women’s Fellowship, and the Christian County Historical Society.  Wilma loved to cook, knit, read and work crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two special nieces: Jeannine Wong and husband Cleighton of Pinole, CA and Mary Ann Whiting and husband Tom of Phoenix, AZ.  Great Nieces and Great Nephews: Laurie Roberts and husband Michael, Kristen Pietragallo and husband James, Jeff Wong and wife Katie, and Josh Whiting. Great-great Nieces and Great-great Nephews: Janelle Wong, Michaela Wong, Madison Pietragallo, Joseph Pietragallo, Cleighton Roberts and Truman Roberts.  She is also survived by special neighbors Becky and Chuck Westerhouse and Matthew Buckley.  She was preceded in death by her parents and Sister and Brother-in-law: Mary and Eugene “Swede” Patton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 14, at Davis Memorial Christian Church with Pastor Bill Kerns officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday at McClure Funeral Home and one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.

Hazel Maxine (Hedy) Thompson of Pana

Hazel Maxine (Hedy) Thompson, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:42 p.m. in her home at Gowin Parc in Pana after living the last decade graciously and lovingly with Alzheimer’s disease. As she passed she was with her daughter, son-in-law, and special nurse and friend Debbie. Mrs. Thompson was born April 29th, 1926 in Decatur, IL to Elmer and Lela (Keeman) Fellwock. She married Maxey B. Thompson on April 27, 1956 in Decatur and they lived in Mattoon, Taylorville, and settled in Edinburg in 1971. She and Mr. Thompson were married a few days short of 50 years, when he died in March of 2006.

Hedy is survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Larry Gowdy of Edinburg; grandchildren Cari (Martin) Hoover of Troy, Tara (Nate) VanderKamp of Wilmette, Tony (Margaret) Telford of Taylorville, Robert (Emily Sandy) of Springfield, Justin (Chyenna) of Wellsville, PA, Shannon Aman (Rob Heady) of Auburn, Logan Gowdy (Whitney Rika) of Auburn, Mason Gowdy (Jessica LaDew) of Springfield, and a special great-nephew Brian Burton of Auburn; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Alan Skalink of Tampa, FL, and several nieces and nephews, and her loving caregivers at Gowin Parc.

Hedy had studied nursing and in her later years worked as an aid in several Springfield nursing homes. She had also worked as a housekeeper for several families in this area. Her most important career was being a mother to her only child , and a grandmother. She loved to cook, bake, and take care of her family and her home. In later years, Hedy and Maxenjoyed their membership in the Pontiac Oakland International Club, traveling all over the United Sates to various conventions and shows.

Hedy was reunited in Heaven with her husband Max, parents, brothers Gene, Darrell, Larry, David, and her sister Marian.

An Open House Celebration of Hedy’s Love and Life will be held at the home of her daughter -and son-in-law, Saturday May 18th, 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come share memories, food, and a toast to this beautiful woman. A private family interment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, or to the Gowin Parc Resident Entertainment Fund (340 IL Rt. 29, Pana, IL 62557), to keep the music playing that Hedy loved so much.

Kenneth L. Baillieul of Taylorville

Kenneth L. Baillieul, 84, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:44 pm, Friday, May 3, 2013.

He was born April 3, 1929 in Taylorville, the son of Leon and Helen Lydia Keller Baillieul.  On October 9, 1959 he married Betty Jane McKavetz in Pana, IL.  She preceded him in death on April 1, 2003.  Kenneth was an electrician for Georgia Pacific Paper Company retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers especially Lawn Boy mowers.

Surviving is his faithful companion and best friend: “Chuckie”. Also Surviving are nieces and nephews:, Coleen Workman and husband Steve, David McKavetz and wife Corenna, Ron McKavetz and wife Cheryl, Linda Thomas, all of Taylorville, Jean Ann Noren of Cowden, IL, and Terry Reno and wife Deborah of Pleasant Plaines.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.  Burial with military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Margie M. Satterlee of Taylorville

Margie M. Satterlee, 91, of Taylorville, passed away May 4, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. at Hickory Estates in Taylorville. She was born October 26, 1921 in Nokomis, IL. The Daughter of Lester and Olive (Smith) Toberman. She married Carl Satterlee on November 13, 1940 in St. Charles, MO and he later preceded her in death on August 28, 2005. She was aRetired Homemaker, 4-H Leader of Owaneco Indian Maidens, and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Satterlee was also a member of the Owaneco United Methodist Church and the founder of the Nimble Thimble Quilting Group

She is survived by her Penelope (Larry) Moomey of Owaneco, IL; Lana (Gary) Campbell of West Frankfort, IL; Grandchildren: Brad (Robin) Moomey, Brent (Linda) Moomey, Bart (Christy) Moomey all of Owaneco, IL; Bonita (Wayne) Hadley of Taylorville, Greg (Stacy) Campbell of West Frankfort, IL; Great-Granddaughters: Shawn Moomey, Penny Gomez, Ann Moomey, Eryn Moomey, Ashley Moomey, Caleb Hadley, Levi Hadley, Mackenzie Campbell, Tyler Moomey, Gabe Campbell; Sister-in-Law: Lorene Satterlee of Nokomis, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews . She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Carl, and 1 Brother Dean Toberman.
