Charles Junior Stockon was born November 2, 1950, in Taylorville, Illinois. Charles passed away at his home in Clay City on February 18, 2021. He was one of five children born to Charles H. and Violet I. Stockon. He married the love of his life, Sherril Lynn on March 15, 1976. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2018.

Together they had 3 children of their own: Tanya (Terry) Tackitt of Clay City, Jeremy (Patricia) Stockon of Flora, and Shane Stockon (Rebecca Holcomb) of Mount Vernon. He also had 3 stepchildren: Corrinna (Bobby) Berning of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Troy (Tammy) Allen of Xenia, and Dawn (Jamie) Mayberry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They had 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Charles worked many jobs throughout his life including for himself. He had many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, playing cards and dice, and mowing grass. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was being married to Sherril.

Charles is survived by all 6 kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; sister Ruby Williams, brother Frank (Rose) Stockon, and brother Walter Stockon (Brenda Colclasure) all of Flora; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend Jack Carter of Fairfield and two fur-babies Chi-Chi and P-Diddle.

Charles was preceded in death by the Love of his Life, Sherril, in 2018, by his loving Dad in 1993, and Mom in 2000. He had a niece Tabatha Bissey pass away in 2008, and his youngest sister Sarah Grobengieser in 2010. He was also preceded in death by two former brothers-in-law Bill Williams in 2019 and Steve Grobengieser in 2021, and good friends Rhonda Carter in 2019 and Joyce Bissey in 2013.

Emma Caroline Baranzelli, 87 of Stonington passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 12:46 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Stonington, IL the daughter of Phillip and Grace (Fedon) Baranzelli. Emma first worked at Marucco’s Grocery Store in Stonington and then for 25 years she worked as a secretary for Nolen Plumbing where she became family instead of just an employee. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Alter and Rosary Society in Stonington. In her spare time, she used the enjoyed bowling, traveling, arts and reading. She loved the Stonington Basketball team and all sports especially the U of I Basketball team. She was known for making the signs for the Stonington Summer Feast.

She is survived by her Nieces: Karen Spurgeon of Kincaid, Christine (Joseph) Broccardo of Palmer, IL; Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews: Aimee Forbes, Ann Lupton, Jennifer Lupo, John Baranzelli and Angela Yoder; Nine Great-Great Nieces and Nephews; Honorary Grandchildren: Daniel (Brooke) Nolen of Moweaqua and Kaitlyn (Alex) Norris of Palmer, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and her brother.

Private Family Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at approximately 11:15 in the Old Stonington Cemetery in rural Stonington, IL with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Adell Alise Barger, 87 , formerly of Kincaid passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 12, 1933 in Tovey, IL the son of Oscar and Celine (Mathieu) Noreuil. She married Bruce Glendal Barger on February 26, 1950 in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2015.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville. She was blessed to have volunteered 12 years at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She loved to travel and enjoyed the Taylorville Senior Citizen's bus trips. Adell loved people and enjoyed making new friends wherever she went. The last few years she was a resident of Hickory Estates and they were a blessing in her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her Daughter, Laura (Kevin) Meikle of Kincaid, IL, Grandsons, Glen (Danielle) Barger of London England and Aaron (Kristen) Meikle of Kincaid, Brothers, Robert (Judy) Noreuil of Taylorville, IL and Tom Noreuil of Kincaid, IL, and several Neices and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Son: Michael Richard Barger, five brothers and one sister.

Garry W. Combs, 69 of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on January 29, 1952 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He and his twin brother Larry were born to Charles and Eileen (Parker) Combs. Garry worked for the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department. He was the owner of Central Illinois Roofing and Remodeling in Springfield and also owned Taylorville Orchard. He was a self-taught guitar player and was a big fan of the Beatles. He was an avid Cubs fan for over 50 years and also a Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He was a talented gardener that could grow most anything, especially tomatoes.

He is survived by his best friend, and love of his life, Mary McCall of Taylorville. They enjoyed 22 years together. He is also survived by his sisters: Carol Bartolomucci of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, and Cheri Herman of Riverton; brother: Bud Combs of Petersburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Larry E. Combs.

Mr. Combs will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. CDC guidelines will be followed including the use of masks and social distancing. Albert L. Gilbert, 83 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 5:50 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. He was born on January 19, 1938 in Twin Bridges, MO the son of Earl and Eva (Collins) Gilbert. He married Alicia “Jill” Grimm on February 28, 1970 in The Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO. He worked as the advertising director for A &PT Company, he was the Taylorville A&P Store Manager and he worked at GSI in the Press area. Albert also owned his own business Odorright. He loved his family, most of all his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and Little League with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Taylorville American Legion Post #72 for 37 years.

Mark Allan Todd, 59 of Stonington, died at 9:51 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born on February 3, 1962 in Abilene, Texas, to Norman and Sheila (Trelz) Todd. He graduated from Hillsboro High School. He married Audrey Pugsley on October 16, 1993 in Pana, and they shared over 27 years together. Mark worked in construction for 30 years, mostly for Kelly Construction, a job which he genuinely enjoyed. Mark always had a project going and enjoyed carpentry and doing things around the house. Mark was a devoted father and he loved playing outside with his kids, whether tossing a ball, playing soccer, fishing, or camping. He was a dedicated Cubs and Cowboys fan. Mark absolutely adored his German Shepherds, Nieko and Bailey, and there is no doubt they loved him just as much. He had a deep love for his family, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. 

Along with his wife, Audrey Todd, Mark is survived by their children: Tabitha (Chae) Mills-Pugsley of Heyworth; Jason Todd of Litchfield, Justin (Mercedes Bryson) Todd of Bloomington; sister: Robin Hayes; brothers: William (Patricia) Oakley and Daniel Oakley, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father: Norman Todd, his mother: Sheila Oakley, and his stepfather: Russell Oakley, who raised him.

Wallace Lee “Wally” Bechtel, 81, of Herrick, IL passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Herrick Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Huddleston officiating. Wally was born on May 10, 1939, at the family homestead in rural Herrick, the son of Rex and Grace (Carpenter) Bechtel. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Wally and Carol “June” Hart were united in holy matrimony on July 24, 2019. Wally retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Herrick Baptist Church and the Clover Leaf Masonic Lodge #990 of Herrick. His passion was playing guitar and playing at Country Music Shows. He also enjoyed golfing and hogging for catfish.

Wally is survived by his lovely wife, June Bechtel of Herrick; son, Greg (Jamie) Bechtel of Ramsey; stepchildren: Gary (Deanna) Hall of Cowden, Lana Hall of North Liberty, IA, Melinda (Henry Endris) Wehrle of Robinson, Eddy (Pamela) Watson of Beecher City and Kenny Watson of Cowden; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Grace Bechtel; two grandchildren; two brothers: Fuller (Bobby) Bechtel and Rex Bechtel, Jr. and sister, Shirley Rauch.

Orin Dale “Tuck” Craig Jr., 79 of Taylorville, passed away at 1:01pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.  He was born on December 9, 1941 in Danville, the son of Orin Dale Craig Sr. and Gladys (Lloyd-Philips) Craig.  He married Bobbie K. Wiles on June 11, 1961 in Danville.  Tuck retired as a Belt Maintenance Boss from Peabody Coal Company Mine #10 after a 30-year career.  He was previously a member of the UMWA.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and a huge fan of Kyle Larson.  Tuck and his family attended many races all across the country.  He had a true love of the outdoors; hunting, trapshooting, and especially deep-sea fishing in Florida.  Tuck loved the ocean and his time spent in Florida.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family, and his dog, Cooper.
He is survived by his wife: Bobbie Craig of Taylorville; children: Todd Craig (Barb) of Taylorville, David Craig Sr. of Florida, and Vickie Craig of Springfield; grandchildren: David “Boo” Craig Jr. (Caitie Dugan) of Ruma, Logan Craig of Taylorville, and Alexis Craig (Brett Whittington) of Florida; great granddaughter: Madalynn Elaine Whittington; sisters: Pamela Lyons (Daniel, deceased) of Florida and Vickie Stull of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: David “Butch” Craig.

“Coach” Chuck Hansen, 83, of Taylorville passed away on February 16 at 9:24am, at Life’s Journey Senior Living, in Taylorville. He was born on March 17, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the son of Leona (Eck) and Charles H. Hansen.  He married Judie Stephens on June 29, 1968.  (Judie preceded Chuck in death in 2019).
Although initially intending to join the ministry, Chuck began his career teaching English and coaching at Deerfield High School, then moving to Northbrook and teaching physical education for 27 years at Glenbrook North High School (GBN).  Chuck coached wrestling, football, weight lifting and track while at GBN with many proud accomplishments.  His team won the 1st State Football Championship in 1974, many of his wrestlers competed in state championships, he organized and hosted the Jr and Sr National Weight Lifting Finals at GBN (televised by Wide World of Sports).  Chuck also worked the Head Table for Weight Lifting and Wrestling during the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
When Chuck and Judie “retired” to Taylorville in 1993, he quickly learned about a coaching opening for the Taylorville High School football team.  It seemed “meant to be” when he joined the Taylorville Coaching Staff and spent the next 14 years passionately involved with the team and community, including working with young players in the K-5th grade Jr Football Program.
Chuck was inducted into the State Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1978, the Illinois Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2000, and the Taylorville High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010.
In his spare time, Chuck has done extensive artwork and has shown his work at various art shows throughout Illinois, including winning an award at the Illinois State Fair.
An Illinois resident all his life, Chuck grew up in the Chicago area, built his family and career in Northbrook, then he and Judie “retired” to Taylorville in 1993.  Chuck and Judie were members of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, James.
He is survived by daughters: Elizabeth (Jeff) Weatherford of Springfield, IL, and Jodie (Mark) Zaslavsky of Libertyville, IL; grandchildren: Ashlyn and Kyle Weatherford and Zach and CJ Zaslavsky; siblings Robert Hansen and Jacqueline Bartz.
Visitation will be held on February 22, 2021 from 12:00-1:30 pm and a funeral service will be immediately following at 1:30pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.  A private family burial will be held at a later date at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.  For those that cannot attend, a live stream of the service will be shown at 1:30pm from the Sutton Memorial Home Facebook page.

Natalie Ann Lumb, 89 of Taylorville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021. Natalie was born March 29, 1931, the daughter of Arpie Lee Wilson and Dorothy Fremgen Wilson. Natalie grew up in the Edinburg area graduating from Edinburg High School in 1948. After graduation Natalie attended Cosmetology School and worked as a hair dresser. On November the 8th 1949 she married George A. Lumb. He preceded her in death, they were married 55 years. She is survived by four children, daughter Kathleen, and husband David Dunkel of St Louis, Sons, George A Lumb III, and wife Joann, and James, wife Retha and daughter, Gail Lumb all of Taylorville. And Natalie’s sister Maris Alexander of Indianapolis Indiana. Natalie has 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Natalie was a home maker until her children got out of school when she rejoined the work force full time.  She retired from the Secretary of State’s Office in January of 2005 after a 26-year career. Natalie was selected as the Secretary of State Employee of the Month in 2003.
Natalie loved to knit and crochet. Besides making many items for her family she loved entering her handy work into the competition at the Illinois State Fair.  She was awarded many ribbons over the years for her work. For many years Natalie cultivated many varieties of house plants she prominently displayed in her home. Natalie also treasured the time she shared with her family, making life time memories including, fishing, mushroom hunting, roller skating, Friday night Colonel Sanders chicken camping out in the living room and the lake.   She also loved attending the State Fair local fairs and festivals with her family.
Due to Covid restrictions and following her wishes cremations rites were accorded.  Graveside rites and a celebration of life for the family will be held at a later date.

Dennis Wolfe, 67 of Nokomis, IL, passed away the afternoon of February 15, 2021 in his home in rural Nokomis, IL.   He was born in Litchfield, IL, the son of Warren Lee and Louella Marie (Hitchings) Wolfe. He married Penny Neisler on January 1, 1981 in Nokomis, IL and he worked as a maintenance lead at AgCo in Assumption, IL. Dennis graduated from Pana High School with the Class of 1971. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served from 1971-1973. Family was very important to him and spending time with his grandchildren and his nephews was always the highlight of his day. He also enjoyed spending time listening to his nephew’s band and loved classic rock music. 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Penny Wolfe, his daughter Chelsie Wolfe of Nokomis, IL, Grandchildren, Chandler Lee Wolfe and Lukas Alexander Wolfe both of Nokomis, IL., his father, Warren Wolfe of Litchfield, IL, sisters, Dianne Smegal of Taylorville, IL and Dawn (Darin) Ashby of Litchfield, IL, his nieces, Michelle (Joshua) Costello, Brittany and Alyssa Ashby and nephews, Chris Smegal of Blue Mound, IL and Matthew Smegal of Taylorville, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Lillian Marie Blessent transformed from being an angel among us to being an angel above us at 1:34pm on February 14, 2021 surrounded by her family at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Illinois. Lillian was born in Taylorville April 21st, 1938, daughter of Mary and Francis Bela Durbin. She married Glenn Reed Sr on February 10th, 1954. Lillian worked as a school cafeteria cook in Overland, MO for many years and spent over 30 years being a caretaker for Glenn, who preceded her in death. She then married Thomas Blessent on July 1st, 2006. 
Lillian is survived by her husband and best friend Thomas Blessent of Taylorville. She is the loving mother of daughter Glenda Washington and (grand) daughter Christina (Charlie) Durbin of Taylorville. Grandmother of Jay (Tiffany) Washington of St. Louis, MO, Steve (Kelsey) Washington of Pana, IL and Rod (Alyssa) Washington of Dupo, IL. Lillian was the beloved Gigi to Christopher Durbin and Cayley Durbin. She also was a caring stepmother to Tony (Cathy) Blessent, Thomas (Diane) Blessent and Timothy Blessent of Taylorville and had several step-grandchildren. She was also a great grandmother, aunt to several nieces and nephews and sister to Jake Durbin of Decatur.  
Lillian enjoyed spending time with her husband going to auctions, garage sales and out to eat where she was always ready with a sweet smile and looked forward to conversation with friends. She also cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren sharing her love of life and God with them. Lillian enjoyed crafts, collecting beautiful items for her home and Garth Brooks. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Taylorville. 
Lillian was preceded in death by her son Glenn Jr, parents and several siblings.
Church service to celebrate the life of Lillian will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 am at the Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Don Beeman officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Ceasar Gianasi, 91, of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. at the Villa Clara skilled nursing facility in Decatur. He was born on June 20, 1929 in Taylorville Township, the son of Louis and Mary (Bassana) Gianasi. He married Judith Rose Leonard on June 26, 1966 in Springfield, IL. He worked as a manufacturing engineer at Allis-Chalmers and Fiat-Allis in Springfield, Sheller-Globe in Herrin, and Warner-Ishi in Shelbyville. Ceasar was a Democratic precinct committeeman and Taylorville Township trustee.  He was an avid golfer and could be found on the links nearly every day.  Ceasar also played clarinet in the Taylorville Municipal Band for over 60 years.  Ceasar served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Taylorville Eagles Aerie 1425, the V.F.W. Post 4495, and the American Legion Post 73, in Taylorville.

Surviving are his sons: Louis (Christi) Gianasi of Springfield, IL and Michael Gianasi of Taylorville, IL; and step-granddaughter Kathryn Meyer of Springfield, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Helen Lorraine Jamison, 93, of Taylorville, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Life’s Journey Senior Living in Taylorville, Illinois. She was born on January 10, 1928 in Edinburg, Illinois the second child of Frank and Clella (Huffman) Kauerauf.  Along with her two sisters and brother, she enjoyed growing up in Edinburg with close ties to her siblings.  Her father was a printer, and she remembered helping him in the small print shop at their home that brought in extra money.  She claimed to be especially adept at quickly moving sheets of paper in and out of the moving press.  Through her mother she developed a lifelong interest in learning, music and reading, but often remarked she especially enjoyed playing baseball with her brother.
In about 1942 George Rhoads Jamison moved from Taylorville to Edinburg with his father, and thereafter Helen met the love of her life. They were married in 1946, and to the time of his death on May 17, 2020, a marriage that spanned nearly 74 years. The marriage produced two sons, George Frank and David Mark Jamison, born in 1946 and 1954, respectively.  During their years in Edinburg they lived next to Helen’s parents, resulting in close relationships with the extended Kauerauf family.  George and Helen took Clella into their home after Frank died until the end of her life. In 1969, George, Helen and family relocated to Taylorville. 
Helen always remarked that the happiest years of her life were raising her two boys.  She entered the work force as her sons grew older, working several years for USDA in Springfield.  She also began to pursue her teaching degree, and became an elementary teacher in Taylorville.  She taught for many years in Kindergarten and First Grade.  She loved teaching and used her ample creativity and enthusiasm to both entertain and teach her young students.
Helen enjoyed singing and participated in many small groups, choirs, and as a soloist.  She was not hesitant to serenade her family at any given moment in almost any setting.  Her passion for reading grew with the years, and she was never hesitant to pick up a challenging book.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, and George was a faithful dish washer and consumer.  She also had a weakness for chocolate, and loved her dogs over many years.

Helen and George traveled widely throughout the US and England.  Grandchildren became a loving, caring focus for them and many memorable visits and vacations together built lasting memories.  Helen’s vivid imagination and love for kids left many indelible memories for her grandchildren.  She shared her keen wit and intellect, and her interests and passions, including playing pinocle.  She was extremely competitive, and reportedly was never defeated at Chinese checkers.  Her love for kids and family spread to great grandchildren as the years progressed.  As health issues closed in during the later years of her life, the presence or mention of grandchildren always sparked her interest, and a moment of respite.
Faith was foundational to Helen’s life.  She was active throughout her life in the Edinburg Methodist Church, and the First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville.  She participated in women’s groups and classes, taught Sunday School, sang in choirs and groups, lead youth groups, and supported many other activities.  She left in her home many books and notes as evidence of her continued pursuit of her faith.
Helen was proceeded in death by her husband, George; parents, Frank Grover (1895-1977) and Clella Stokes (Huffman) Kauerauf (1897-1979); two sisters, Betty Ann (1924-1985) and Marian Sue Sanders (1934- 2014). 
Helen is survived by her brother, Donald Eugene (Ruth) Kauerauf of Chatham, Illinois; sons George (Mary Lou Goodpaster) of Libby, Montana, and David (Joyce) of Taylorville. Grandchildren (George)- Daniel Wesley (Susan) and Cameron and Caden of Woodbury, Minnesota; Matthew Cameron (Cristina) and Catherine and Claire of Orlando, Florida; and Ann Elyse Jamison (Phil O’Neill) and Desmond of Madison, Wisconsin. Grandchildren (Dave)- Nicholas David (Jane) and Lillian and Claire of Westerville, Ohio, and Megan Claire of Taylorville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who have graciously been providing support for both Helen and George as their health declined. 
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. Given the pandemic restrictions, a private family service will be conducted with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating.  Friends are invited to join the family for a public graveside service at approximately 11am on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Social distancing and the use of masks will be followed. Harold R. “Slick” Parrish, 93, of Taylorville died Friday, February 12, 2021, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born May 8, 1927, in Taylorville the son of Harold F. and Clara F. (Gelonek) Parrish.  Slick graduated from Taylorville High School in the class of 1945 and then went on to serve in the United States Navy aboard the cargo ship USS Titania AKA-13, Phillipines. On June 6, 1948, he married Lugenia C. “Dotty” McLeod in Taylorville.
His interest in sports and photography began early. He was proud to be a junior member of the 1944 Illinois State basketball championship team. In 1947, he began taking photographs of the Taylorville high school football and basketball teams. As technology advanced, he began filming then videotaping games; a familiar site on top of the press box at football games as well as in the gymnasium for girls’ and boys’ basketball games. That hobby lasted for just over six decades. He was a charter member of both the Emil Mayer Junior Football League and the Taylorville High School Sports Boosters. He was inducted into the Taylorville Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1944 basketball team and as a Friend of Sports. He was also inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a photographer/videographer. In his younger years, he liked to play pool and also enjoyed bowling with his father “Pop” in a league at the Olde Bowl. Early employment history included Menietti’s Service Station, Pope’s Photography Studio, and Wareham’s Dairy. In 1961, he began working at Brown and Sons as an appliance dealer and office manager, a job which he held for about 42 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he, for many years, audiotaped then videotaped church services. He was a member of the Methodist Men’s Group. He was also a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and a 2014 Land of Lincoln Honor Flight veteran from World War II. He always looked forward to attending his ship’s reunions and weekly coffee gatherings with his buddies at Rene’s Drug Store.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Clara; his sister, Virginia Davis; brother-in-law, Aldo Vitali; and son-in-law, Louis Trutter. He is survived by wife, Dotty, of 72 years; daughters: Patricia Trutter of Alvarado, Texas; Joyce (David) Jamison of Taylorville; grandchildren: Nick (Jane) Jamison of Westerville, Ohio; Megan Jamison of Taylorville; Alyssa Trutter of Bryan, Texas; Emily (Wesley) Shimek of Waxahachie, Texas;  great-grandchildren: Lilly and Claire Jamison and Charlotte and Andrew Shimek; sister: Edmona Vitali of Taylorville; brother: Robert E. Parrish of Lincoln; two nieces, two nephews, and seven great-nieces/nephews.

John R. Paine, 63, of Taylorville, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
John was born January 4, 1958 in Taylorville, the son of Arthur T. “Cotton” and Loraine E. (Williams) Paine.  John married Sandy Brun on September 9, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville, where they are still members today.
John graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1977.  He worked for New Products, Seidel & Shaw Furniture, and operated Mr. C’s Game Room, before gaining employment with the City of Taylorville, as Lake Patrol where he was still currently employed for the past 24 years.  John also owned and operated Fat Man, Inc. where he was a repossessor for the past 24 years.  He would help anyone with anything.  John organized and ran the Taylorville Lake Car Cruise for many years.  His love for cars carried over to his own garage, where he restored his pride and joy, a 1970 Chevy Camaro.  John was an avid pool player, playing and organizing various leagues over the years.  He loved music, and spent most of his free time in the garage listening to KSHE 95, or watching westerns and reruns of the Andy Griffith Show. Above all, John loved his family, and would do anything for them.     
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Paine; sisters, Joyce Clements and Donna L. Paine; and nieces, Paula and Shirley Clements.
John is survived by his wife, Sandy Paine of Taylorville; children, Kyle (wife, Kayla) Paine, Kristin (husband, Chris) Jameson, and Katelyn Paine, all of Taylorville; grandchildren, Alexus, Dontrell, Alizabeth, Kianna, Kylie, Oliver, and Connor; brother, Art (wife, Renee) Paine, Jr. of Morrisonville; brother-in-law, Donald Clements, Sr. of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Margaret (Prior) Burge, 101 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 5:47 p.m. at her home in Taylorville, IL. She was born on July 7, 1919 in Britt, IA the daughter of Walter Elmer and Alma Maud (Elder) Prior. She married Nelson Burge on March 24, 1946 in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2006. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Taylorville, IL.

August E. Semon, 92 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12:49 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on August 10, 1928 in Benton, IL the son of William and Hallie (Moore) Semon. He married Ruth Day on January 22, 1972 in Jellico, TN. He worked as a coal miner as a young man, then he later worked as a manager at several drug stores. August retired from the state of Illinois EPA. August served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954, and he loved camping, fishing, feeding his birds, gardening, family reunions, and playing the lottery.

Walter Robert “Bob” Hornbuckle, 90, of Taylorville, IL, formerly of Morrilton, AR passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, surrounded by his family in Taylorville.

Bob was born on June 6, 1930 in Fort Worth, TX, the son of William and Helen (DeSpain) Hornbuckle.  He married Fern Scroggins on November 29, 1958 in Bee Branch, AR.  She preceded him in death on September 7, 2019.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1954 as a 2nd Lieutenant.  He graduated from North Dallas High School, as well as Southern Methodist University with a degree in electrical engineering.  Bob retired from AT&T in 1991.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Clinton J. Hornbuckle; and brothers:  John, William, and James Hornbuckle.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Greg (wife, Patty) Hornbuckle of Taylorville, IL, and Bruce Hornbuckle of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Cynthia (Jason Handegan) Woods of Taylorville, IL, Kate Graham of Taylorville, IL, and Chad (wife, Nena) Hornbuckle of Edwardsville, IL; great grandchildren, Kyle and Cole Woods of Taylorville, IL, Katie & Erik Hornbuckle of Walnut Creek, CA, Lucas Hornbuckle of Taylorville, IL, Michael and Monroe Graham of Taylorville, IL, and Brynn, Grant and Brock Hornbuckle of Edwardsville, IL.

Linda Loyd, 57 of Illiopolis passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 6:40 p.m. at her home in Illiopolis, IL. She was born on February 14, 1963 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Earl and Alice (Wright) Simmons. She married David Loyd on March 7, 1981 in Springfield, IL. She worked as an information Specialist for the State of Illinois. Linda loved to renovate homes, building projects, to travel, but most of all she loved her family.

Robin Roe Martinez, 69, of Taylorville, passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Robin was born October 18, 1951 in Anna, the daughter of Howard and Maxine (Forsythe) Roe.  She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1969, and over the years was employed by New Specialized Products, Georgia Pacific, Firestone, and All-Star Liquor.  Robin married David Martinez in September of 2000 in Taylorville.  In her youth, she coached youth soccer, and was a lifeguard and Red Cross swimming lesson instructor.  Robin also loved to play golf and softball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Norma Roe.
Robin is survived by her husband, David Martinez of Springfield; daughter, Heather Obil of Taylorville; grandchildren, Nicholas (wife, Crystal) Turner of Shelbyville, Noah Mills of Taylorville, and Paislie Obil of Taylorville; step-son, Gabriel Martinez of Coos Bay, OR; 4 step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation will be provided, and the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

James Henry Starks, 95, of Taylorville, passed away at 5:47pm on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on September 28, 1925 in Taylorville, the son of Roy Manville and Garnetta Marie (Kuntzman) Starks. On September 28, 1949, he married Margaret Sharon Rhodes in Taylorville. She preceded him in death on April 3, 1986. Jim was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Celeno. Jim proudly boarded the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in May 2013 with his granddaughter, Jordan. After getting married, Jim and Sharon moved to California where he was in the construction industry. After moving back to Illinois, he worked and retired from Peabody Mine #10. In retirement, he drove cars across the U.S. for Trinity Motors and others, as well as worked for the Fair Board every spring and fall taking in boats and RVs. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the V.F.W., all in Taylorville. Jim was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs. He also loved to fish, especially fly fishing, having gone to Canada on numerous occasions. He will be remembered by many for his passion for woodworking. Jim was a talented craftsman that completed countless projects including clocks, jewelry boxes, cutting boards, curio cabinets, and cribs, among many other projects. Jim loved visiting and talking with people. Most of all he loved his family, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by his daughter: Laura Marie “Molly” Durham of Taylorville; granddaughter Jordan Marie Durham (fiancé Nick Geary) of Columbia, Missouri; brothers: Roy Starks Jr. (Dottie) of South Carolina and Robert Starks of Oregon; former son-in-law: Mark Durham of Taylorville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son: James M Starks; sister: Virginia Blanchetti; brother: Thomas Starks; and nephew: Tom Blanchetti.  
Mr. Starks will be cremated, and a memorial service will take place at 11am on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home with Monsignor David Lantz officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Inurnment, with military honors, will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  CDC guidelines will be followed including the use of masks and social distancing.  Memorials in Jim’s honor may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or V.F.W. Rick “Rambo” Strunk, 62, of Taylorville, passed away at 7:37 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

Rick was born June 21, 1958 in Taylorville, the son of Walter F. and Evelyn J. (Charles) Strunk. He married Heather Beshears on September 4, 2018 in Taylorville.

Rick was a 1976 graduate of Taylorville High School, and went on to farm for Hershey Farms for 41 years. He also drove trucks for MBM, and worked for the Howden Fan plant in Springfield until it closed. Rick was heavily involved in and promoted several Archery shops, and enjoyed working on people’s bows and teaching them the sport. He competed in field, and 3-D Archery competitions. Rick was a devoted member of the Taylorville Gun Club for decades, where he helped build and maintain many of the shooting benches, as well as assisting with the overall maintenance of the property. In addition, he competed in trap shooting and numerous other shooting competitions. Rick enjoyed gunsmithing and building various firearms. He was known for helping people sight in a new gun, and promoted all things outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ira L. “Peanut” Grafton; and lifelong friend, Fuzzy Davis.

Rick is survived by his wife, Heather Strunk of Taylorville; children, Aron Strunk of Morrisonville, Adam Strunk of Decatur, and Amanda (Kevin) Strunk of Taylorville; 3 step-daughters, Stephanie, Ashleigh, and Danielle; brothers, Jim “Moe” (Peggy Games) Strunk of Decatur, and Walter “Dino” Strunk of Branson, MO; several cousins; and many lifelong friends, that Rick considered his family.

Bunny Darlene Hendricks, 56 of Taylorville, passed away in her home on Saturday, February 6, 2021.  She was born on February 13, 1964 in Decatur, the daughter of James and Barbara (Manley) Hinds.  Bunny graduated from Taylorville High School and earned a degree in radiology from Lincoln Land Community College.  She worked several jobs throughout the years including the Crowne Plaza and Farmer’s Market in Springfield, and Round Table and Casey’s in Taylorville.  Bunny will be remembered for her bubbly personality.  She had an artistic ability that she enjoyed expressing through painting, cooking, and even her fashion sense.  She enjoyed gardening, collecting fairies and butterflies, and loved animals. 
She is survived by her parents: Jim and Barb Hinds of Taylorville; daughter: Jayme Hardin (Matt) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Mercedes Kennedy and Olivia, Jack, and Carter Hardin; Brother: James Lee Hinds (Marie) of Knoxville, Tennessee; nephew: Aaron Hinds (Elizabeth) of Knoxville, Tennessee; and grandmother: Wilma Long of Taylorville.  She was preceded in death by her son: Drew William Hendricks; and grandparents.

James “Sonny” Crabtree, 71 of Taylorville, formerly of Quincy, died at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Taylorville Skilled Nursing & Rehab. Jim was born in Quincy on February 20, 1949, the son of Harvey & Marjorie (Drummond) Crabtree. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church. For most of his career, he worked on bridge construction for the railroad, which led to an endless love for trains. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed politics. He was a fan of all kinds of sports. Jim was a generous man with a big heart, and he would have done anything for anybody. He loved his family deeply and he will be greatly missed. 

Jim is survived by his four daughters: Misty (Jimmy) Titus of Flagstaff, AZ; Angie Bruce of Chatham; Leah (John) Dunbar of Carmel, IN; Brooke (Jim) Foose of Quincy; nine grandchildren; siblings: Daniel Crabtree, Stephen Crabtree, Elizabeth Akers; Christine Foster, Harvey “Bubby” Crabtree, Mark Crabtree; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Terry Crabtree.

Following through with his wish, Jim will be cremated and there will be no service. Doris Irene Castagno, 95 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her children.  She was born on October 2, 1925 in Taylorville, the daughter of Henry Albert “H.A.” and Marie (Spresser) Curtin.  Doris attended St. Mary’s School, graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Springfield, and went on to attend College of St. Francis in Joliet.  She married Joe Castagno on June 22, 1946 in Taylorville.  Doris and Joe were engaged in farming in rural Morrisonville until they moved to Taylorville in 1986. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1988.  She also worked for 18 years as a bookkeeper for Farmer’s Grain Co. in Palmer.  
Doris was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.  For several years she served as a volunteer at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.  Doris enjoyed taking part in activities at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center and tap danced for 13 years with “Charlie and His Angels”.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching British comedies.  Travel was always a joy for Doris, especially the trip she took at the age of 70, with her granddaughter, to Italy.  She made many life-long friends and had many wonderful neighbors during her life.  
She is survived by her children: Cathy Waterman of Dunedin, Florida, Joe (Monica) Castagno, of Ellisville, Missouri, John (Amy) of Glendale, Missouri, Linda (Gary) Rinaldi, of Pekin, and Don Castagno of New York, New York; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings: Robert Curtin, James Curtin, Alberta Sage, Bruce Curtin, and Sr. Mary Bernice Curtin.  
A private family funeral for Doris will be held with Monsignor David Lantz officiating.  Burial will take place along side her husband in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s School, 422 S. Tommy Gale Stein, 54 of Pana, died 8:25 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Tom was born in Shelbyville on June 12, 1966, the son of Eugene and Mary Lou (Dempsey) Stein. Tom’s true passion was motorcycles, specifically the Harley Davidson’s he owned throughout the years. He had a love for classic cars and was especially proud of one that he personally restored and showed off in the Pana Labor Day parade. Tom will be fondly remembered by his family for his love of orange-flavored foods such as Orange Crush soda and orange Tootsie Rolls. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. He loved dogs, especially his dear Pitbull Angie who preceded him in death.

Tom is survived by his son: Trent Jones (fiancée Ashley Basil) of Pana; four grandchildren: Thomas, Hannah, Hailey, and Hope; his companion: Cheryl Jones; two sisters: Mary Ann (Bob) Cilley of Monson, Massachusetts, and Linda (Ed) Trudeau of Holyoke, Massachusetts; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews spread out across the country. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother: Robert Stein.

Tom will be cremated, and a memorial visitation will be held from 5 until 7pm on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home. Ted Lee Durham, 68, of Taylorville, took his final breaths surrounded by his girls and Three Dog Night in the background on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in his home.
 Ted was born on November 11, 1952 to Betty and Clay Durham of Taylorville.  He graduated Taylorville High School in 1970 where he was a trumpet player in the band and was a member of the first ever Taylorville High School Wrestling Team, a title of which he was extremely proud. On October 14, 1972 he married Bev Beard of Taylorville and they shared a beautiful 48 years of marriage.  Together they raised two daughters, Anji and Lisa and were super fans to their 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and 2 bonus grandsons.
Ted worked at American Fixture Company (AF-CO) for over 20 years, creating custom kitchens for homes all over Illinois. His beautiful mind and endless talent also brought to life numerous swing sets, Pinewood Derby cars, and science projects.  He retired from Nudo Products in Springfield as a supervisor on the night shift, a career which prompted his poem “Ode to ‘C’ and ‘D’ Shifts”.
With Ted’s numerous accomplishments in life, his favorite was his daughters and grandchildren. He was the epitome of a hands-on dad and Papa. He loved cheering on all of his girls and boys usually front row for basketball, cheerleading, soccer, and dance recitals and competitions. He amazed them all daily with his knowledge of trivia, random facts, music back stories, and home made candy. He instilled early to Anji and Lisa that classic rock is the best and they spent these last few years attending concerts of his favorite bands, Three Dog Night and Chicago. 
A die-hard lifelong Raiders fan, if Ted was not wearing purple and gold for his grandkids, he was wearing black and silver for his Raiders. 
The king of dad jokes, the human GPS and his ‘never met a stranger’ mentality, the world will be a little lost for more than one reason for a while.  
Ted is survived by his wife, Bev; his daughters Anji Durham of Springfield, IL and Lisa (Adam) Reeter of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Bayleigh Durham of Mascoutah, IL, Darbi Durham of Jacksonville, IL, and Alyviah Durham of Laverne, CA; Preston & Mylie Sims of Taylorville, IL  great-grandson Treyton Durham of Mascoutah, IL; and bonus grandsons Ethan and Ty Reeter of Sherman, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Clay Durham and his brother, Tom.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Dora Jean (Reed-Shadis) Linnean, 73 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at her home in Taylorville, IL. She was born on November 17, 1947 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Robert Reed and Dorothy Alice (Cormeny). She married John Shadis in Springfield, IL and she later married Varlan “Linn” Linnean in Boise, ID and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters: Pamela Shadis-Barghoorn of Illinois (Estranged), Michelle (David) Jenkins of Waynesboro, VA, Charity (Bret) Spencer of Owaneco, IL; Verdeana (Kevin) Grant; Grandchildren: Adam (Mary) Shadis, Brittany (James) Duncan; Nicholas Shadis, Natasha Erdmann, Matthew (Whitney) Shadis, Caitlyn McVey, Hannah McVey, Miaja Grant, Jasmine (Corey) Welty, Caleb Seybold, Hannah Hudson, Jordan Linnean and Alexus Linnean; Brother: Donald (Pat) Reed and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Brothers: Kenneth and Robert Reed; Step-daughter: Verlea Hudson and granddaughter: Jadienne Linnean.

Steven M. Mitsdarffer, 69, of Assumption, died February 1, 2021 at his home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Assumption.

Steven was born on February 24, 1951 in Pana, IL, the son of Roman L “Shorty” and Mary (Rever) Mitsdarffer.  He married Shelia Ann Bough on November 20, 1971 in Assumption, IL.  She preceded him in death in 2000.

Steven was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Assumption and was retired from Christian County FS, after 35 years of service.  He served in the Illinois National Guard and was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Pittsburg Steelers fan.  He loved his grandkids and enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving are his children: son, John (Joannie) Mitsdarffer and daughter, Heather (Steven) Durbin all of Assumption, IL; grandchildren: Grace (Adam) Snively, Brace DeClerck, Shania Stockdale, Briona Durbin, Maygan Durbin, Abbigail Durbin and Rainey Mitsdarffer; great-grandchildren: Pierce Snively and Katelyn Boulware; sister, Beverly Weakly of Moweaqua, IL; sisters-in-law: Pam (Bill) Roseberry and Shelly (Steve) Dennis of Taylorville, IL; and four nephews.

Preceding him in death is his wife, Shelia, parents and one niece.

Robert Christopher “Chris” Flaherty, 49, of Taylorville, passed away on January 27, 2021. 

Chris was born on April 10, 1971 in Hillsboro, the son of Robert E. and Constance (Sides) Flaherty. He graduated from Taylorville Senior High in 1989, and married Jacki Marion on January 23, 1993.  They later divorced. Chris, then, met Barbara L. Miller in 1999, and they remained together thereafter. She was the love of his life.

Chris enjoyed sports, especially watching the Cubs and Bears games! He played baseball in his youth, and was known for being quick on his feet. Chris enjoyed singing, and had a beautiful voice. He had a smile and laugh that lit up the room instantly. Chris loved spending time with friends and family, playing with his grandkids, and cleaning his jeep. He was very well known and loved by those who knew him best. For the last decade or so of his life, Chris lived in North Dakota, where he made several great friends while working for PSS Pipeline Supply.

He was preceded in death by his fiancée, Barbara L. Miller, just 47 days prior to his passing, and they now share eternal life; his maternal grandparents, John and Teresa Sides of Nokomis; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Laverna Flaherty of Morrisonville; uncle, Butch Sides; and aunt, Kathy Clay and her husband, Ronnie.

Chris is survived by his parents, Robert E. and Constance (Sides) Flaherty of Taylorville; daughters, Sydney Miller of Taylorville, Madison Miller of Morrisonville, and Gabrielle Flaherty of Kincaid; son Brayden Flaherty of Kincaid; 5 grandchildren Ayva "The Bug", Luna, Leo, Myah and Major; brothers, Don (wife, Kim) Pembroke of Taylorville, and Arland Pembroke of Rochester; nieces and nephews, Gavin, Delanie, Karrick, and Kason Pembroke; aunts, Debbie (husband, Steve) Zueck, Debra Loveless, Gerlinda (husband, Jerry) Johnson, Sally Sides, Sheila Crowder, and Patty Enlow; uncles, Barry Sides; several cousins.  

The family will host a celebration of life for both, Chris and Barb, beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Mity’s Pub, 400 S. Spresser Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.

Norman Dean White, 85, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Morrisonville, IL, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Dean, as he was known, was born April 18, 1935 in Taylorville, the son of Carl and Bonnie (Bethard) White.  He was a 1954 graduate of Morrisonville High School. Upon his graduation, he married Marilyn “Joyce” Millburg, and together they had six children.  They later divorced. Dean was the founder, owner, and operator of Dean White Construction & Redi-Mix in Morrisonville for over 30 years, and was well known for being a talented carpenter for over 50 years. Dean built and remodeled numerous homes and buildings in the Morrisonville and surrounding Central Illinois area, as well as in Texas where he spent several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dennis Dean White in 2015; his twin sister, Norma Jean (White) Allison; brother, Wayne White; and infant sister, Clara White.

Dean is survived by his dear companion, Shirley McGlassen of Springfield; three daughters, Bonnie (husband, Kevin) Wood of Raymond, Karen (husband, Patrick) Millburg of Venice, FL, and Sandy (husband, Dale) Himstedt of Morrisonville; two sons, Daniel (wife, Angie) White of Bluffton, SC, and Darren (wife, Marla) White of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Dana Wood Morris, Brian Wood, Russell White, Duane White, Jamie Himstedt Sample, Laura Himstedt Henry, Jeff Himstedt, Miles White, Seth White, Abigail White, and Mitchell White; 16 great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Joyce White of Morrisonville.

A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Morrisonville Cemetery at a later date.

Richard Dale Oller, 63, of Taylorville, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
Richard was born on April 8, 1957 in Taylorville, the son of James W. and Patsy (Bennett) Oller.  He worked as a lawncare provider in Taylorville for many years, helping care for Oak Hill Cemetery and many of the schools.  Richard loved competing in various pool leagues in Taylorville, as well as fishing, camping, and playing poker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dreagon Oller; twin brother, Robert G. Oller; and sister, Barb Oller.
Richard is survived by his children, James (fiancée, Chelsie) Oller of Ashland, and Cassie (husband, Joe) Hunter of Beardstown; grandson, Riley Oller of Ashland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation will be provided, and the family will host a celebration of life starting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Cork & Keg, 123 E. Main Cross Street, Taylorville, IL 62568.

Louie Farmer, 87 of Edinburg, passed away at 6:45pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  He was born on April 2, 1933 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of Monte and Gertrude (Applegate) Farmer.  He married Polly Ann Deck on November 26, 1960 in Stonington and she preceded him in death on September 8, 1983.  Louie was a graduate of Edinburg High School in 1950 and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.  He retired from Fiat Allis in Springfield.  Louie loved sports, especially football, Illini Basketball, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  Throughout the years he enjoyed bowling and throwing horseshoes.  He will be remembered by his family for the simple life he led.
He is survived by his children: Jackie Kendall (Don) of Edinburg, Karen Dulakis (Dennis) of Edinburg, Susan Squires (Coy) of Riverton, and Butch Farmer of Edinburg; son-in-law: Larry Vice of Riverton; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; stepmother: Carmon Farmer; daughter: Vicky Vice; great granddaughter: Gracelyn Lanham; and step-brother: Eddie Joe Jones.

Sandra Montgomery, 74 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 10:10 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She was born on December 26, 1946 in Bonne Terre, MO the daughter of Greg “Mannie” and Nadine (Resinger) Moyer. She married Kenneth E. Montgomery on December 31, 1964 in the first United Methodist Church in Illiopolis, IL. She worked in Social Services, and as an Acedemic Counselor at Richland Community College. Sandra was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville.
She is survived by her Husband: Kenneth E. Montgomery of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Candace (Ricki) Peters of Taylorville, IL; Cara Montgomery of Taylorville, IL; Son: Kevin (Rachel) Montgomery of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Aiden Montgomery, Brett Peters, and Blake Peters, Sister: Marilyn (Jerry) Moyer-Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 11:00-12:00 noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 12:00 noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Bill Kerns officiating. Burial will be held in Mt.
