Dennis D. White of Owaneco

Dennis D. White, 57 of Owaneco passed away at 2:20 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on February 25, 1958 in Taylorville the son of Norman Dean and Marilyn Joyce (Millburg) White. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bernard “Doc” Millburg and paternal grandparents, Carl and Bonnie White.

Dennis worked most all of his life as a contractor, owning and operating Dennis White Construction, Inc. for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid hunter.

Survivors include: Sons, Russell D. (wife, Jenny) White of Highlands Ranch, CO and Benjamin D. (wife, Shelly) White of Morrisonville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Jazmyn June White, Brady Benjamin White, Maxim Dean White, Grace Marie White and 1 on the way; Mother, M. Joyce White of Morrisonville, IL; Father, N. Dean White of Springfield, IL; Grandmother, Merle-Ree Millburg of Taylorville, IL; Sisters, Bonnie (husband, Kevin) Wood of Raymond, IL, Karen (husband, Pat) Millburg of Springfield, IL and Sandra (husband, Dale) Himstedt of Morrisonville, IL; Brothers, Daniel (wife, Angie) White and Darren (wife, Marla) White both of Bluffton, SC; Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Deacon Patrick O’Toole officiating. Burial will be at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville.

Donna Lee Walters of Taylorville

Donna Lee Walters, 66, of Taylorville, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 7:40 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born October 18, 1949 in Desloge, MO, the Daughter of Marvin and Marie (Burt) Henson. She married Bob Walters on July 22, 1989 in Taylorville, IL. She worked as a beautician since 1975. 

She is survived by her Husband: Bob of Taylorville, IL; Daughter: Hollie (Jeffrey) Reckers of Morrisonville, IL; Son: Lee Coke of Taylorville, IL; Step-Son: Randy Walters of Prescott, AZ; Daughter-in-Law: Laura Walters of Phoenix, AZ; Grandchildren: Tawny Thomas, Lee Swisher, Chloe Coke, Zoeie Coke, Steven Reckers, Lydia Reckers, River Walters, Nick, Nate and Kendra Walters; Brothers: Mike Henson and Garry Henson of Missouri; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded  in death by her Parents and Step-Son Rob Walters.

Irene C. Althoff of Taylorville

Irene C. Althoff, 86, of Taylorville, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at 2:55 a.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville.

She was born May 6, 1929 in Montrose, IL the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Pruemer) Flach.  She married Lester Althoff on April 30, 1952 in Effingham, IL and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2015.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. Irene worked as a homemaker and a realtor for Craggs & Curvey reality.

She is survived by her Children: Daniel (Betty) Althoff of Ft. Myers. Leonard Leo Sassatelli of Taylorville

Leonard “Leo” Sassatelli, 88, of Taylorville passed away peacefully at 1:23pm, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Taylorville Care Center.  He was born on July 31, 1927 in Tovey, the son of Alfonse and Margherite Vitali Sassatelli.  He married Elaine Forsythe on May 5, 1951 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville.  Leo served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was the owner of Sassatelli Distributing, Inc. in Taylorville.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, Taylorville Eagles, and Sertoma.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children and their families; sister: Angelina White of Taylorville, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Reno Sassatelli.

The Sassatelli family will gather for a private graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Capital Campaign, c/o St. Mary’s School, 422 S. Mary D. Ginoli of Taylorville

Mary D. Ginoli, 89, of Taylorville, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at 12:23 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born September 8, 1926 in Taylorville, IL,  the Daughter of William and Juanita (Dilbeck) Greenan. She married Bonafazio “Bonnie” M. Ginoli on February 10, 1947 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL and he later preceded her in death on February 16, 2015. She was employed at the Sangamon Card Company for many years. She and her husband were volunteers for Meals on Wheels, she was a member of the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America and the Knights of Columbus. Mary was a champion bowler in Taylorville and also liked to play on a horseshoe pitching league with her husband. She was also a Christian County election judge for many years and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL.

She is survived by her Daughters: Bonita Brewer of Bloomington, IL and Ft. Myers Beach, FL and Vicki Ginoli of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Shannon Brewer Simmons of Springfield, IL, Brian (Julie) Brewer of Joliet, IL, Joe (Angie) Brewer of Bloomington, IL and David Brewer of Bloomington, IL; Great Grandchildren: Derek Simmons, Gracie Brewer, Adalyn Brewer, Emma Brewer and Owen Brewer;  Sister: Shirley Day of Chico, CA; Sheila Durham of Taylorville, IL; Brother: John (Jack) Greenan of Springfield, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews. Buelah Agnes Aunt Boo Buesinger of Taylorville

Beulah Agnes “Aunt Boo” Buesinger, 102, of Taylorville passed away at 7:55pm, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Taylorville.  She was born on April 3, 1913 in Prairieton Township, the daughter of John Elmer and Sally Jennie Hayes Traughber.  On December 20, 1949 she married William Earl Buesinger at the Old Stonington Baptist Church.  He preceded her in death on May 18, 1967.  She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm.  When her nieces and nephews were young they had a hard time pronouncing her name so they called her “Aunt Boo” and the name stuck from then on for anyone that knew her.  Aunt Boo was a member of Old Stonington Baptist Church for 91 years.

She is survived by her nieces: Janet Waite, husband David, of Blue Mound, Beverly Scott, husband Leon, of Taylorville, and Sally Walsh of Taylorville; nephews: Lane Traughber, wife Viki, of Fenton, MO, and Ronald Traughber, wife Cathy, of Chester, NJ; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Halden, Grant, and Chester Traughber. 

Funeral services for Beulah will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at McClure Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly J. Beeson of Langleyville

Kelly J. Beeson, 54 of Langleyville passed away at 6:50 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on February 25, 1961 at Decatur the daughter of Glenn and Dolores (Lake) Beeson. She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother, Timothy Beeson; Sister, Monica Hughes; Niece, Stephanie DisPennett.

Kelly was a homemaker.

Lynda L. McKinney of Lake Whales, Florida

Lynda L. McKinney, 74, of Lake Wales, FL formerly of Morrisonville, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 9:45 PM in her home with her family and relatives at her side.

She was born on October 24, 1940 in Taylorville, IL to John J. Gaynor and Eunice Shanks Gaynor. She married Joe McKinney in Taylorville on November 27th, 1963.

Lynda retired from Walmart in Taylorville in 2003. She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1958. She got to travel all over the world.

She is survived by her husband Joe of Lake Wales, FL; Daughter Lori (Michael) Breslin of Dresher, PA; Daughter Michelle Patterson of Decatur, IL; Son Michael McKinney of Bethalto, IL; 7 grand children, 4 Great Grandchildren; Twin Sister Synda Massett of Springfield, Sister Julie Emerson of Springfield and Nancy Lawrence of Edwardsville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Merle Sims and step mother Ruth Gaynor and sister Joann Girard, brother John Gaynor and great grandson Malaki Simmons.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Rev. Gerald Bunse officiating. Margaret R. “Maggie” Boarman, 76 of Taylorville formerly of Nokomis passed away at 12:45 AM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Life’s Journey in Taylorville.

She was born on February 22, 1939 at Taylorville the daughter of Darrell D. and Anna C. (Hoover) Hamell. Maggie married Ed Boarman on June 9, 1962 at Taylorville; he preceded her in death on February 13, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Brothers, Bill Hamell, Robert Hamell, Darrell Hamell and Allen Hamell; Sisters, Susie Hamell, Louverda Cavatorta and Patty Hamell.

Maggie was a homemaker.

John Hamilton Vidmar Sr., 82, of Taylorville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born January 9, 1933 in Taylorville, IL, the Son of William and Nellie (Brown) Vidmar. He married Judith A. Souders on June 9, 1956 in Taylorville, IL and she later preceded him in death on April 27, 2014. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local.

He is survived by his Daughter: Karen Vidmar of Taylorville, IL; Son: John (Pam Zuber) Vidmar Jr. of Assumption, IL; Grandchildren: Joseph Mercer, Christopher Mercer, Taylor Annamarie Vidmar, John Hamilton Vidmar III, Abigail Ashley Vidmar; Five Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Wanda Blount of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Lester Althoff, 90, of Taylorville, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 7:38 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born April 30, 1925 in Effingham, IL, the Son of Aloysius and Helena (Swingler) Althoff. He married Irene Flach on April 30, 1952 in Effingham, IL. He was a retired insurance salesman for Country Companies. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and a member of the Taylorville Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.

John Lewis Forbes, 90, of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2015 at 10:53 a.m. at his residence in Edinburg. He was born June 14, 1925 in Peoria, IL, the Son of Lewis and Yvonne (Leveque) Forbes. He married Marion McMillan on December 22, 1949 in Springfield. worked as an educational administrator and a property manager.John was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, IL; Rotary International Club (founding member of Springfield Sunrise Rotary Club); NRA; IREM/BOMA; American Kennel Club, Missouri Hunting Spaniel Club, Gateway Upland Hunt Club.

Glenn Haines of Taylorville

Glenn Haines, 87 of Taylorville passed away in his home at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 10, 2015.  He was born on March 27, 1928 in Bulpitt, Illinois, the son of Glenn K. and Elsie F. Wanack Haines.  Glenn attended Tovey Grade School and Kincaid High School.  He was united in marriage to Fern L Welch on April 12, 1947 at the Edinburg Methodist Church Parsonage.  Glenn and Fern celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year. 

Glenn was a farmer and a mechanic.  He operated Glenn Haines Garege in rural Palmer and Pawnee.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville.  He enjoyed traveling and Switzerland was his favorite trip.  He also liked car racing and was the owner and mechanic of three race cars, both stock and sprint. 

He is survived by his wife: Fern Haines of Taylorville; nephew: Jan K Haines, wife Donna, of Springfield; great nieces: Gayla Matjowski, husband Don, of Champaign, Dana Taylor, husband Brad, of Mahomet, and Annette Flood, husband Rich, of Mahomet; brother-in-law: Merl L. Welch, wife Eileen, of Urbana MO; and Sister-in-law: Beverly J Welch of Canton, MO.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Laverne Haines, a sister in infancy, and a brother-in-law: Glenn E. Welch.

Glenn bravely fought four types of cancer in the past 22 years.  He won the battles over the first 2 cancers- colon and prostate.  He lost the battle of the last 2- intestinal and bladder cancer. 

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10am until noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. James Stanberry of Nokomis

James Stanberry, 58, of Nokomis, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 12:15 a.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1957 in Jacksonville, IL, the Son of Forrest Wayne and Nancy (McClure) Stanberry. He married Kimberly Gibbs on February 14, 2003 in Hillsboro, IL. He worked as an LPN at Aperion Nursing Home in Decatur, IL. 

He is survived by his Wife: Kimberly of Nokomis; Son: Kevin Gibbs of Nokomis; Daughters: Kristina Gibbs of Nokomis, Kara Kay Gibbs of Nokomis, IL; Mother: Nancy Stanberry of Arkansas; Sisters: Susan Wilson of Arkansas; Nephew: Charles (Windi) Wilson of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father.

There will be no services or visitation. Inurnment will be held at a later date

John A. Peterson of Taylorville

John A. Peterson, 84 of Taylorville, IL went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 12:35 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. He was the Son of Elmer and Eva (Stone) Peterson. John Married Donna Jean, the love of his life on September 2, 1988. He is survived by Donna Jean and several children, particularly Reidd, wife Patti and Granddaughters, Rylee and Ripley of Neoga, who were a very special part of his life. Other children live in Massachusetts, Hawaii and Menard County, IL.

John had a full Christian life, having accomplishments every goal he set for himself including sharing numerous local and state boards of directors and was a published author. He was the Manager at the Christian County Farm Bureau, he raced cars, flew airplanes, hot air balloons, skied in the Alps and was a shooter and reloader. As a volunteer, John chaired the State Heart Association Board, the Illinois Coalition against Tobacco Board, NRA affiliate board and the Rifle-Pistol Club Board. He maintained a membership in the association of former Intelligence officers, (Air force) and was an active Gideon.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Taylorville Christian Church in Taylorville, IL and a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Taylorville Christian Church in Taylorville, IL

Terry Robert Hogge of Taylorville

Terry Robert Hogge, 63, of Taylorville, passed away at 4:18 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.  He was born on June 7, 1952, in Salem, the son of William and Ethel (Newcomb) Hogge.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Pamela “PJ” Hogge of Stonington; one granddaughter: Chloe Diane Hogge; his mother, Ethel Bailey of Beardstown; his sister, Karen Whitlow of Beardstown; three nieces: Megan, Shelly, and Margaret Anne; one great-niece, Anna; and his beloved dog, Billy Bob. Terry began his working career at GSI in Assumption. He then worked for McLeod Express as a truck driver, both nationwide and local, loving the countryside view as he traveled. He later enjoyed working for Siemans Phone Company, which allowed him to travel and utilize his passion and knowledge for computers. He loved being outside and playing with his dog. Terry was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

John Louis Katcher of Jeisyville

Mr. John Louis Katcher, 91, of Jeisyville passed away at 6:25 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylorville.

He was born in Kincaid, IL October 18, 1923 the son of Gusty P. and Agnes S. (Truhlik) Katcher.  Mr. Katcher married Anna Louise Cook August 9, 1946 in Divernon, IL and she preceded him in death March 14, 2001.

Mr. Katcher was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Kincaid where he once served as an Alter Boy.  Johnny, as he was affectionately known by many, served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II.  He worked 30 years at Allis Chalmers in Springfield retiring in 1978 as a foreman.  Johnny is a former member of the American Legion in Kincaid, IL and was known locally as a Small Engine Repair Expert. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are a son John D. (Pamela) Katcher of Jeisyville, IL 2 daughters Alyce Andrighetti of Jeisyville and Susan (Charles) Prince of Kincaid, IL 7 grandchildren Jeannette Barlow, Jennifer Goeschel, Jarod Katcher, Alysha Goeschel, Johnny Lee Katcher, James Katcher, Carley Prince, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Joseph (Beverly) Katcher of Alburquerque, NM and August Katcher of New Berry Springs, CA. along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Anna Louise.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid, IL.  Visitation will be held for one hour before his services.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee, IL.

Marcella R. Jordan of Mt. Auburn

Marcella R. Jordan, 94 of Mt. Auburn passed away at 5:25pm on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Life’s Journey in Taylorville.  She was born on October 19, 1920 in Taylorville, the daughter of Homer L. and Mildred Kirk Morgret.  On January 18, 1941 Marcella married James D. Jordan in her parent’s home.  He preceded her in death on July 12, 1991.  Mrs. Jordan ran Jordan’s Market in Mt. Auburn and assisted her husband in his role as Christian County Treasurer.  She was a member of the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star #536 in Mt. Auburn, Christian County Democrat Women, and enjoyed spending time at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center. 

Marcella is survived by her daughter: Pam Hemingway of Mt. Auburn; grandsons: James Hemingway, fiancée Peggy Morgan, of Edinburg, and Jarred Hemingway of Springfield; great grandsons: Austin Hemingway and Colton Hemingway; sister: Donna Beerup of Springfield; sister-in-law: Marguerite Ryan, husband Richard, of Loveland, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters in infancy, and son-in-law: Austin Hemingway.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Friday, October 9th at the Mt. Clara A. Young of Moberly, Missouri

Clara A. Young, 104, of Moberly, MO formerly of Taylorville, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at Moberly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moberly, MO. She was born on June 26, 1911 in Taylorville, IL, the Daughter of Henry and Mayme (Trapp) Longden. She married Earl G. Cook on June 22, 1929. Three children were born in this union. She married Harold A. Young on July 5, 1956 and he later preceded her in death on December 18, 1997. Mrs. Young worked many years in production and management in the Simplicity Garment Factory in Kincaid and Taylorville, retiring in 1956. In 1958, she and Mr. Young moved to Paris, MO, where they farmed for 25 years. After retiring in 1983, they returned to Taylorville residing until Mr. Young’s Passing. She then made her home in Moberly, MO, where she could be near her family and lived there until her death.

She is survived by Five Grandchildren, Michelle (Clark) Wetzel, Blaine Clark of Moberly, Duane Cook, Brenda (Cook) Clark, and David Cook of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Irene Cook of Indiana; step-daughters, Barbara (Young) Zeter of Springfield, IL and Judy (Young) Rench of Tenneessee; step-daughter-in-law, Rita Young of Arizona; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and friend, Linden Eitel. She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother, Arthur Longden; both husbands; her sons, Robert LeRoy Cook and Orin Cook; daughter, Earlene Clark Boling; and step-sons, Dick and Bob Young.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 11:00-12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Catherine Char Charlene Johnson of Taylorville

Catherine “Char” Charlene Johnson, 71, of Taylorville, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at 9:45 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born March 27, 1944 in Taylorville, IL, the Daughter of Harold J. and Eula (Stewart) Johnson Sr. She worked as a Floral designer at Ann’s Flowers, the Garden Center and Betty and Bobs.  

She is survived by her Sisters: Janet (Faron) Brown of Taylorville, IL; Anna (Jerry) Chance of Taylorville, IL; Brother: Harold “Butch” (Suzie) Johnson Jr. of Taylorville, IL; Aunts: Pat Price of Colorado Springs, CO; Ida (Bernard) Declerck of Stonington, IL; Dorothy Peters of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Grandparents: Charles and Mae Stewart; Dewey Johnson and Anna Matthews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Tiney Walker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Charles J. Surratt of Industry

Charles J. Surratt, 89, formerly of Palmer, Illinois, passed away at 12:37 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015, at his home in Industry, Illinois. He was born May 29, 1926, in Sheldon’s Grove, IL, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Miller Surratt. He married Cecilia Stockton on March 28, 1952, in Lewiston, IL, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2012. Charles served his country proudly in the US Navy for 4 years during WWII, then in the US Army for 8 years during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Machinist for Caterpillar, in farming at his own service station in Morrisonville for 14 years, then at Wal-Mart in Taylorville. He was a member of the UAW, and the VFW Post #4495. Charles was a great husband, father, and provider, and he will be missed by everyone who had the chance to know him.

Charles is survived by five children: Diana DeLong of Macomb; Donna Willey, husband Steve, of Industry; Charles M. Surratt of Industry; Devonna Golsbey, husband Mike, of Camdenton, MO; Dawn Tarrant of Industry; sister: Eloise Carlock, husband Robert, of Gainsville, TX; brothers: Phillip Surratt of Sandwich; Bobby Joe Surratt of Aurora; Ernie Surratt, wife Donna, of Plano; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, nine brothers and sisters, and three grandchildren.

A memorial service for Charles will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. Pastor Chad Foster will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Anderson Cemetery, with military honors. James E. Corbett of Kincaid

James E. Corbett, 88, of Kincaid, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015, at Taylorville Care Center. He was born July 13, 1927, in Kincaid, the son of Emmett and Grace Clinton Corbett. He married Louise H. Hinman on November 24, 1951, and she preceded him in death on August 21, 2009. He served as a US Marine in World War II.  Mr. Corbett was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. He worked as a coal miner for Peabody Mine #10. He was a member of UMWA, a Past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Kincaid City Council where he was also a Trustee. Mr. Corbett was a huge Notre Dame fan.

He is survived by his daughters: Patricia Moses of Springfield, and Pamela Strell, husband Gary, of Springfield; son, Mike Corbett, wife Kim, of Chatham; four grandchildren: Brent Moses, (Stephanie), Jamie Dial, husband Aaron, Chelsey Corbett, and Stacey Strell Cardona, husband Rich; seven great grandchildren; and one sister: Patricia A. Warren of Kincaid. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one great grandson: Solomon Dial.

The family will host a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, to be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, October 9, 2015, at St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid. Fr. Mariadas Chatla will officiate. Virginia M. Dowdy of Palmer

Virginia M. Dowdy, 100, of Palmer, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville. She was born on July 12, 1915 in rural Palmer, IL, the Daughter of Walter and Sara (Odell) Stockon. She married Guy Ballard and they later divorced, then she married Roy Bransford Dowdy on February 26, 1955 in Taylorville, IL and he later preceded her in death on August 14, 2008. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrisonville, IL. 

She is survived by her Daughters: Barbara Stafford of Eureka, IL; Marlene Dunn of Blue Mound, IL; Marcia Smith of Palmer and Patricia Huddleston of Palmer, IL; Rose Marie Crowder of Springfield, IL; Son: David (Marcella) Ballard of Tovey, IL; Sixteen Grandchildren; Thirty Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Donald Stockon of Arizona; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and three grandchildren Doug Stafford, Tom Stafford and Laura Huddleston. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Chad Foster officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in rural Palmer. Joleta L. Judy Campbell of Taylorville

Joleta L. “Jody” Campbell, 63 of Taylorville passed away at 5:00PM on Friday, October 2, 2015 at her home.  She was born on June 6, 1952 in Taylorville, the daughter of Dallas Ray and Beverly Joan Waterman Sims.  She married Charles E. Campbell on February 2, 1979 in Springfield.  Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and a member of Moose Lodge #1516 in Taylorville.  Jody enjoyed fishing. 

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Campbell of Taylorville; son: Scott E. Campbell of Stonington; brothers and sisters: Alice Boensel, husband Rod of Taylorville, Myrna Seiler, husband Ron, of Owaneco, Myron Sims, wife Tammy, of Taylorville, and David Sims, wife Jamye, of Taylorville; grandchildren: Addison Welge and Zachary Welge.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Joseph Lewis Welge; and brother: Alan Sims.

A graveside inurnment service for Jody will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Rev.
