Douglas Scott Warcup

Douglas Scott Warcup, 52 of Pana passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:50 p.m. as the result of a motor vehicle accident in rural Edinburg, IL. He was born on July 30, 1969 in Jacksonville, IL the son of Danny and Connie (Fanning) Warcup. He married Edie Stout on August 8, 2009 in Pana, IL. Douglas worked as an Audio Engineer at Mason Sound. He loved his guns, music and his grandbabies.


He is survived by his Wife: Edie Warcup of Pana, IL; Daughters: Danielle Warcup of Taylorville, IL ; Kaley (John) Rhoades-Vo of Belleville, IL; Carleigh Warcup of Springfield, IL; Sons: Colin Warcup of Springfield, IL; Devin Rhoades of Pana, IL; Mother: Connie Warcup of Jacksonville, IL; Grandchildren: Julia Vo, Harrison Vo, Liam Warcup; Sisters: Cheri McGuire (Bob Peak) of Jacksonville, IL; Cathy (Larry) Reichert of Jacksonville, IL; Cindy Stuckey of Chatham, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. 


Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Mary Ann Waters

Mary Ann Waters, 90 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 3:01 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on April 25, 1931 in Chicago, IL the daughter of George and Frances (Yazumb) Lewiski. She married Marvin Sanders on May 24, 1950 in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1978. She then married Eugene Waters on July 14, 1979 and he also preceded her in death. Mary Ann retired as a waitress at Roots Café and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. 


She is survived by her Son: Gary (Candy) Sanders of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Shane Sanders of Pawnee, IL; Dusty Sanders of Taylorville, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Sanders of Taylorville, IL; Zoe Sanders of Rochester, IL; Neissa Sanders of Taylorville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sisters: Frances Hazdra, Cecilia Porter and Mary Cole and brothers: Albert Lewiski and Joe Lewiski. 


Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with Father Mike Daag Celebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.

Melvin Walter Schweizer

Melvin Walter Schweizer, 95, of rural Witt died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:50 pm. Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Nokomis on Friday, December 3rd from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday morning, December 4th at 10 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am at the church.


Mr. Schweizer was born April 21, 1926, the son of Walter and Edna (Engelhart) Schweizer. He married Delores Weber on August 27, 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and she survives.


Melvin was a devout Christian and a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he and his wife, Delores, were baptized and attended parochial school. They were married in the same country church. He was an active participant in many church activities and held various offices at the church. Schweizer was an Army veteran, serving two years in the Korean Conflict. The son of a dairy farmer, Melvin farmed his entire life. He served on the Prairie Farms Board from 1963 to 2003 and held the title of President and Board Chairman from 1972 to 1999. He had been involved with Farm Bureau, various community boards and was an advocate for the dairy industry. He received recognition as a Master Farmer in 1998.


In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Cheryl (Jim) Stanton of Taylorville, Kathie (Marc) Easterday of Nokomis, Steven (Jana) Schweizer of Edwardsville, Mark (Lisa) Schweizer of Nokomis and Julie (Kurt) Johnson of Edwardsville; sister, Alberta Quattlander; brother, Charles Schweizer; 15 grandchildren: Jeremy, Megan, Darla, Joni, Michael, Kari, Greg, Jeff, Kyle, Kassie, Krista, Kyra, Erik, Johanna and Jason; and 23 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Hagemeier.


Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Unity Lutheran Christian Elementary School in East St. Louis.
 

Linda R. Jones

Linda R. Jones, 64 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:45 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on December 3, 1956 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Marvin and Helen (Ruplaukis) Robinson. She married Reed Michaud in 1972 and they were divorced in 1980, she then married Daniel M. Kelley in 1982 and they were divorced in 1984. Linda worked as a home care provider and was a member of Way of Life Church in Taylorville.  


She is survived by her Sons: John Michaud of Texas, Mike Michaud of Joliet, Steve Michaud of Joliet, IL and Daniel Kelley of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Alyssa Michaud of Taylorville, IL; Mike Michaud Jr. of Joliet, IL; Kaytlyn Michaud of Joliet, IL; Gabriel Michaud of Joliet, IL; Barrett Kelley of Springfield, IL; Sister: Mary E. Hayden of Springfield, IL; Brother: Jim Robinson of Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Janice Robinson. 


Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Way of Life Church in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. at Way of Life Church in Taylorville with Pastor Stan Pratt officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.

Jon Aaron Hergett

Jon Aaron Hergett, 53 of Taylorville, passed away with his family by his side and his children holding his hands, at 12:29a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri following a courageous battle with complications of COVID.  He was born on January 24, 1968 in Springfield, the son of David C. Hergett Sr. and Katherine G. (Schenkel) Hergett.  He graduated from Springfield High School in 1986. Jon married Michelle R. Patton on May 12, 2001 in Taylorville.

He worked for AT&T as a fiber optic cable splicing technician. Jon was raised in the Catholic Church and was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church. He was a member of IBEW Local 21 in Springfield and previously served on the Sangamon County Rescue Squad. He was music-lover, especially rock from the ‘70s and ‘80s and also enjoyed dancing with his wife when they went out. Jon will be remembered as a hard worker who was humble, light-hearted, and quickly loved by all who met him. He was an animal lover and had a special place in his heart for those living with disabilities. Above all, he was dedicated to his family who loved him more than anything.  

 

He is survived by his wife: Michelle R Hergett; children: Drake Hergett and Marli Hergett all of Taylorville; mother: Katherine Hergett of Springfield; brother: David Hergett Jr. (Kimberly) of Springfield; brother-in-law: Matt Burdick (Rachel) of Springfield; father-in-law: Terry Patton of Taylorville; mother-in-law: Lynn Yeaman (Milo); and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father; step-mother-in-law: Paula Patton; and grandparents.

 

The funeral service for Jon will be held at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz and Rev. Chad Foster officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Memorials may be made to Christian County Animal Control. Clarence "Sonny" Isaac Schroader

Clarence “Sonny” Isaac Schroader, 87 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:04 a.m. He was born on June 16, 1934 in Cook County, IL the son of Lon and Connie (Patton) Schroader. He married Francie L. Schroeder on December 24, 1986 in Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on November 11, 2021. He worked as a Type setter for Ohio County News and Owensboro Messenger Inquirer, he was a coal miner for Peabody Coal in Kentucky and Illinois and he worked as a Security guard at the Kincaid Power plant. Clarence was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Taylorville, IL, Masonic Lodge, Ansar Shrine, the Order of the Easter Star and he was a graduate of Hartford High School.

 

He is survived by his daughters: Kimberly (Tommy) Drake of Morgantown, KY; Lollie Alvey of Hartford, KY; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; Brothers: Hugh (Janice) Schroader of Jacksonville, FL; Gene (Sybie) Schroader of Daytona Beach, FL and Five Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Barry Kent Schroader and Son-in-Law Mike Alvey.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Richard McKirahan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Mary Rosser

Mary Rosser, 80 of Kincaid, passed on to a better place on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. 


Born on November 18, 1941 in Volusia County, Florida, Mary was the daughter of Matthew and Onie (Powers) Hickox. She married Ralph Rosser on March 7, 1958 and he survives. Mrs. Rosser’s Baptist faith was very important to her, and she read her bible daily. When living in Florida, Mrs. Rosser worked for the Volusia County School System as a cook, reportedly the best cook in the entire county. She enjoyed garage sales, and she and her husband worked as Flea Market dealers for over a decade. Mrs. Rosser loved her family, especially her grandchildren. 


Along with her husband of over 63 years, Mrs. Rosser is survived by her daughter: Susan Rosser of Eustis, FL; grandchildren: Brianna Rosser, Jacob Hokaszewski, Amanda Nelson, Jaclyn Bajrami, Robert Rose; great grandchildren: Aaliyah, Alivia, Max, Ethan, and Elijah; siblings: Franklin Hickox, Frances Coffey, and Ruby Cooper; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Rosser was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Martha Louise Desantis in March of 2020; siblings: Raleah Hickox, Edwin Hickox, J.R. Hickox, James Hickox, and Sadie Bell. 


Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday November 27, 2021 at McClure Funeral Home, with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Following the service, Mrs. Rosser will be cremated, and she will go back home to be with her husband. Louis "Jay" Meads

Louis “Jay” Joseph Meads, 64, of Taylorville passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 6:53 a.m. at his residence in rural Taylorville, IL. He was born on May 11, 1957 in Taylorville, IL the son of Donald and Eleanor (Kalka) Meads. He married Margie Wallace on September 17, 1982 in Taylorville, IL.

 

Jay was a shift manager at the Kincaid Power Plant for many years.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with and spoiling his grandbabies. One of his favorite past times was cooking and sharing his food with others and Jay never let the truth get in the way of a good story.  He was a giving person who was always willing to help anyone.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Jay will be missed by the family and friends who knew and loved him.

 


He is survived by his Wife: Margie Meads of Taylorville, IL,  Daughters: Christina Meads of Springfield, IL Abbie (Blake) Reuter of Missoula, MT and Angela (Joey) Gonzales of Nashville, TN, Sons: Matthew (Diane) Meads of Peoria, IL; David (Krissie) Meads of Taylorville, IL, Grandchildren: Camille Meads, Greyson Murray, Maximilian Meads, and Chiara Meads, Sisters: Dureen Peck of Coulterville, IL; Donna Hampton of Athens, IL; Betty Saulsbery of Illiopolis, IL and  several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Son: Daniel Meads, Sisters Debbie Meads and Jeanne Meads.

 


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery with military graveside rites.

 


The family plans to distribute any memorial donations that they receive to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Marcia Downs Brockelsby

Marcia Downs Brockelsby of Taylorville passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. Marcia was born November 9, 1952 in Decatur, Illinois to Merle and Roberta (Ryan) Pray. She graduated from Stonington High School in 1970 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She married David Downs on February 18, 1973. He preceded her in death in 1991. Marcia later married Steve Brockelsby on August 5, 2000. She was employed as an administrative assistant for the Illinois State Board of Education and retired after 30 years of service. Marcia was an active member of Taylorville Christian Church, Christian County HCEA and served as a volunteer for several community organizations.

 

Surviving are her husband, Steve Brockelsby; children: Michelle Downs of Decatur, IL and Eric Downs of Green Bay, WI; step-son: Scott Brockelsby (wife Elizabeth), and step-daughter, Sandy Brockelsby, all of Taylorville; step-grandchildren: Reece, Ryan, and Rhyten; sisters- in-law: Linda Pray of Geneseo, IL, Marsha  (husband Mike) Lanham of Taylorville, Judy (husband Gary) McKinnie of Morrisonville, Janet (husband Scott) Haines of Edinburg, Delores (husband Bob) Carls of Stonington, Dianna (husband Harold) Meyers of Litchfield, and Sharon Nation of Taylorville; brothers-in-law: Bruce Brockelsby of Edinburg, Dwane (wife Sharon) Downs of Stonington; mother-in-law: Margaret Brockelsby of Edinburg; several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and many special friends and neighbors. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; parents-in-law: Robert and Ina Downs, and Gayle Brockelsby; brother, Roger Pray; brothers-in-law: Dale Downs, Gerald Chausse; sisters-in-law: Donna (husband Henry) Spengler, Barbara Downs, and Cathy Brockelsby.

Ramona Adams-Pladziewicz

Ramona Adams-Pladziewicz, 52 of Rockford, died at 6:11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. 

 

She was born on February 7, 1969 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and adopted into the family of James and Bridget Adams. She married Dr. Paul Pladziewicz (Dr. Paul the Dentist) on New Year’s Eve in 2007 in Las Vegas. Ramona worked as a receptionist for her husband in his dental office, and later owned and operated Dev & Dan’s Arcade on the square in Taylorville before moving it to Rockford. She was a writer, a published poet, and she enjoyed narrating children’s books on YouTube. Ramona had a kind, giving heart and always helped anyone whenever she could. She will be dearly missed. 

 

Along with her husband, Ramona is survived by her two sons: Devin Adams-Barton and Daniel Adams-Pladziewicz. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Terry "Tob" Leon Borkhardt

Terry “Tob” Leon Borkhardt, 66 of Taylorville, died at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Terry was born on May 12, 1955, the son of Louis & Gertrude (Parish) Borkhardt. Most of Terry’s working life was in construction of all kinds. He worked hard and played hard. Terry enjoyed mudding, demolition derby’s, taking part in judging, being a flag man, and even driving. Terry was a member of ABATE for a short time, volunteered with the Shriners, and was a member of Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Taylorville. Above all, Terry cherished his family, countless friends, and especially his grandchildren. He loved riding his Harley and loved taking rides with his grandkids on his golf cart around town even more. Terry had a huge heart, and he will be dearly missed by many. 

 

He is survived by his daughters: Tracy (Craig) Soerensen of Illiopolis; Trina (Billie) Sims of Decatur; stepsons: Tim (Richard) Ward of Tampa, FL; Troy (Debbie) Ward of Waverly; Todd (Connie) Ward of Springfield; and he was a father figure to many others. He is also survived by: nine grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings: Dianna Sims of Taylorville; Kay Mendenhall of Cedar City, UT; Lorna Biscontone of AZ; Jerry Borkhardt of Moline; Stanley Borkhardt of Moline; and many cousins, nieces, nephews; and countless friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild: Jadleann Sims; and brothers: Gary Borkhardt, Louis Borkhardt and Fred Borkhardt.

 

In accordance with his wish, Terry will be cremated, and his family will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 11, 2021, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Terry’s house. Sharon "Tootie" Fleigle

Sharon “Tootie” Fleigle, 65, of Morrisonville passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  


Tootie was born October 24, 1956 in Taylorville, the daughter of James Bruce and Barbara “Babe” (Grundy) Todt.  She married John Fleigle on January 20, 1978 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.


Tootie graduated from Morrisonville High School with the Class of 1974.  She worked as a secretary for Dr. Del Valle in Taylorville for 10 years, before working as a Special Education Teacher’s Aid for the past 23 years at the Morrisonville Jr. & Sr. High School.  Tootie was a caring volunteer, and family oriented.  She was there to help anyone in any way possible, and she lived for her grandkids.  Tootie was a dedicated member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.


She was preceded in death by her parents.


Tootie is survived by her husband, John Fleigle of Morrisonville; children, Nicolas (wife, Joni) Fleigle, Brett (wife, Stacia) Fleigle, Troy (wife, Amber) Fleigle, and Emily Fleigle, all of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Lily, Leah, Gracelyn, Stella, Jacob, Sadie, and Emmalin; brother, Brad (wife, Marci) Todt and their children, Madison, Cooper, and Braeden, all of Bluffton, SC.


Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Morrisonville High School Gymnasium, 301 School Street, Morrisonville, IL 62546.


Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at St. Maurice Catholic Church, 706 SE 4th Street, Morrisonville, IL 62546, with Rev. John Burnette as celebrant.  


Interment will follow the mass at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville.

John G. Carr

John “Bob” G. Carr, 78 of Decatur passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 6:09 p.m. at Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth, IL.

 

He was born on June 1, 1943 in Decatur, IL the son of John “Tim” and Erma (Fickes) Carr. John worked as a Medical Administrator for the State of Illinois and he was the owner and operator of Betty and Bobs Flower Shop and Abe and Bobs Flower Shop in Decatur, IL and Taylorville, IL. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam.

 


He is survived by his brother: Tim (Annette) Carr of Mt. Zion, IL; nieces: Sarah Carr and Kayla Carr, nephew: Timothy Carr Great- Niece: Lailah Carr and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and brother-in-law.

 


Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Long Point Cemetery in Niantic, IL with military graveside honors and Pastor Brian Canaday officiating.

Francie L. Schroader

Francie L. Schroader, 63 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 8:40 a.m. at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on December 24, 1957 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of John Henry and Wanda (Hughes) Dixon. She married Clarence “Sonny” Schroader on December 24, 1986 in Oklahoma. She worked as a home care nurse for 24 years with Addus Health Care out of Litchfield, IL. She is a member of the Taylorville Southern Baptist Church in Taylorville, IL. Francie loved to listen to country music and she loved to cook.

 

She is survived by her Husband: Clarence “Sonny” Schroader of Taylorville, IL; Step-Daughters: Kimberly (Tommy) Drake of Morgantown, KY; Lollie Alvey of Hartford, KY; Seven Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Step-Son: Barry Kent, Step-Son-in-Law: Mike Alvey, Brother: Tommy Clayton and Sister: Mary.

Patricia Ann Patton

Patricia Ann Patton, 69 of Taylorville, formerly of Mt. Auburn, passed away at 10:18p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in her home.

 

She was born on May 18, 1952 in Decatur, the daughter of Donald and Mary (McMillan) Long.  She married Bradley Dale Patton on April 5, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2007.  

 

She received her bachelor’s degree from SIU Carbondale. She began her working career at J.C. Penny in Springfield. Her time in retail work always stuck with her, she couldn’t walk through a store without refolding and organizing clothing displays.  She worked for many years at the manager of Long’s Tavern in Mt. Auburn where she was known for the famous chili she cooked.  

 

She enjoyed playing cards and bowling and competed in leagues in Illiopolis and playing shuffleboard. Patricia enjoyed spending time on the water, both on the lake and paddling on the river.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children.

 

She is survived by her children: Ryan Patton (Meghan) of Palmer, and Maridon Patton of Taylorville; granddaughter: Addison Cole of Taylorville; and brother: James “Jim” Long (Pam); brother-in-law: Bryan Patton (Karen); and sister-in-law: Brenda Patton all of Mt. Auburn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Andrew Dale Patton; and several aunts and uncles including special uncle: John Shaw McMillan.

 

Mrs. Patton will be cremated, and a memorial graveside service will be held at 3:00p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery with Michael St. Louis officiating.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements. Betty Geraldine "Jerry" Grauer

Mrs. Betty Geraldine "Jerry" Grauer, 95, of Kincaid, IL died Sunday, November 7, 2021 at The Loft Rehabilitation Center in Decatur, IL.

 

She was born in Logan, IL May 22, 1926 the daughter of William J. and Cecile A. (Price) Meacham.

 

Jerry married Don Grauer March 21, 1944 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death June 15, 1998.

 

Mrs. Grauer worked as an O.R. Technician at Taylorville Memorial Hospital retiring in January of 1976.  She was a member of Midland United Methodist Church where she was quite active in her younger years.

 

Surviving are a son Gregory (Patricia) Grauer of Franklin, KY., 4 grandchildren Tisha (John) Palmer of Tovey, IL Marcy (John) Hutchinson of Watseka, IL Jason (Tammy) Grauer of Decatur, IL and Ryan (Diana) Grauer of Belleville, IL 6 great grandchildren Trenton Higgason, Jack, Ellie and Alex Hutchinson, Daniel and Jacob Grauer along with nieces and nephews. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don and a son William “Billy Don” Grauer.
Visitation for Mrs. Grauer will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Funeral Services begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Masterson’s with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. 

Linda Rae (Friend) Prosperini

Linda Rae (Friend) Prosperini, 73, of Taylorville passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:32 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born on January 4, 1948 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Harold and Eva (Gilbert) Friend.

 

She is survived by her daughter: Michelle (Adam) Harden of Taylorville; Grandchildren: Adam (Tori) Harden, Eden Harden, and Evie Rae Harden, all of Taylorville; Sisters: Colleen (Hank) Starling of Chatham, IL, Terri (Maurice) Walker of Taylorville; Brother: Harold L Friend of Owaneco; nieces: Amelia & Lucy Friend, nephews: Isaiah & Caleb Walker and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter: Melissa Marie Prosperini. 

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 09:30-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Inurnment will be held at the Owaneco cemetery later.

Leo "Wayne" Voudrie

Leo “Wayne” Voudrie, 65, of Herrick, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family and friends.

 

Wayne was born on March 12, 1956, in Pana, the son of Cyril and Verla (Smith) Voudrie.  He was a graduate of Pana High School in the Class of 1974.  Wayne and Connie Sue Hadley were married on July 1, 1978 and celebrated 43 years of marriage.  They were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Miranda, Krystal and Brandi.  Wayne worked for Borg-Warner for ten years followed by 35 years at International Paper, now Graphic Packaging, in Shelbyville, retiring in 2017.  He also farmed all his life, the last 22 years with his dear friend, John Kirkbride.  

 

Wayne’s life revolved around farming and his grandchildren.  He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting events and riding rangers with his family.  Wayne was a quiet man with a huge heart and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

 

He is survived by his mother, Verla Voudrie; wife, Connie Voudrie; daughters:  Miranda Voudrie and Brandi (Jason) Brummet; acquired son, Chris Pope; grandchildren:  Brynlie and Hadley Pope, Tayte, Hayden and Hunter Voudrie, Beau and Bryon Brummet; sister, Jean (Randy) Nicholas; brother, Jim Voudrie; father-in-law, Merrill Hadley; brother-in-law, Kent Hadley; sister-in-law, Tina Voudrie and many nieces and one nephew.  

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Cyril Voudrie; daughter, Krystal Voudrie; brothers:  Allen and Terry Voudrie; nephew, Marcus Voudrie and mother-in-law, Shirley Hadley.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, in the First Christian Church in Cowden.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021, in the First Christian Church of Cowden with Pastor Jay Huddleston officiating.  Burial will take place in Pleasant Union (Dog Prairie) Cemetery near Herrick.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden is assisting the family.

Hiram "Butch" Arthur

Hiram “Butch” Arthur, 74, of Kincaid, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

 

Butch was born July 23, 1947 in Rice County, MN, the son of Vincent C. and Eileen A. (Piper) Arthur.  He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, Butch worked for the Taylorville Park District.  While there he painted the cartoon mural at Manner’s Park, which is still enjoyed by many today.  Butch loved drawing cartoons, fishing, and was an avid arrowhead hunter.  He was a longtime member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid.

 

Butch is survived by his siblings, Gloria Hunt of Chicago, Sharon Durbin of Taylorville, Robert (wife, Linda) Arthur of Oklahoma, Patricia Gordon of Macomb, and Katherine (husband, Mike) Lozier of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Arthur; and sister, Carol Ann Workman.

 

A private graveside ceremony will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Cheryl L. Blaesing, 74 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville, IL. She was born on January 24, 1947 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Allen and Juanita (Meredith) Westbrook.

 

She is survived by her son: Richard (Christine) Blaesing; daughter: Jennifer (Eric) Zola; grandchildren: Alexis Zola, Jacob Zola, Austin (Kaylynn) Blaesing, Elizabeth Blaesing; brother: John (Pat) Westbrook; sisters: Mona (Gary) Foreman, Mary (Dennis) Walker, Retta Loreth and companion Kenneth Wirey; sisters-in-law: Jan Westbrook, Judy Westbrook; numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Stuie Westbrook, Keith Westbrook.

Ayden Cecil Delahunt

Ayden Cecil Delahunt, infant son of Robert Chance and Katie Renee (Koons) Delahunt of Taylorville, was still born on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Carol Jo Vecchie Women’s and Children’s Center in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

 

Surviving are his Parents: Robert Chance and Katie Renee Delahunt of Taylorville, IL; Maternal Grandparents: Jim and Carol Koons of Tower Hill, IL; Paternal Grandparents: Robert and Kalene Delahunt of Taylorville, IL; great-grandparents: Faye Maisch of Tower Hill, IL, Harry and Diana Durbin of Kiln, MS; uncles: Seth Koons of Tower Hill, IL, Dan (Tiffany) Koons; aunts: Onna Delahunt of Taylorville, IL, Kiley (Brett) Stewardson of Tower Hill, IL; cousins: Naomi and Liam Stewardson of Tower Hill, IL. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Max Maisch, Lloyd and Jane Koons, Robert Eugene and Marlene Delahunt.

Frances E. Moore

Mrs. Frances E. Moore, 89, of Taylorville, IL formerly of Jeisyville and Tovey, IL passed from this life at 5:36 a.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Springfield IL.

 

She was born in Rochester, IL May 15, 1932, the daughter of Cecil and Ora (Miller) Campbell.  Frances married Rolly E. Moore, Sr. February 14, 1951, in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death September 4, 1985.

 

Mrs. Moore enjoyed reading, Wheel of Fortune and spending time with her family.

 

Surviving are: 2 daughters Robin (Michael) Wicker of Taylorville, IL Ellen (Paul) Waschevski of Buffalo, IL a son Rolly E. (Diane) Moore, Jr., of Palmer, IL 4 grandchildren Nicholas Morehead, Dennis Moore, Darlene Mills, Marybeth Smith 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters Cecile (Richard) Risby and Helen Boose all of Decatur, IL Polly Thomas of MO., 2 brothers Robert and Carl (Bonnie) Campbell of Mt. Auburn, IL, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Rev. Larry Hanson will officiate.   Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Moore will be held for 1 hour before her service at Masterson’s.
