Bertha Genevieve (Jenny) Hart of Taylorville

Bertha Genevieve (Jenny) Hart 98, of Taylorville passed away Tuesday May 29, 2012 at 9:25 P.M. in Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylorville, IL. She was born on December 26, 1913 in Shelby County the daughter of Floyd P. and Sophie Camfield Parr. She married Ralph C. Hart on December 25, 1935 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Taylorville he preceded her December 15, 2002. She was a retired homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville. She was a Farmers wife that helped her husband for forty years, and loved the Lord and family.

She is survived by Daughter: Ellen (Mel) Masters of Taylorville, IL, Grandchildren: Susan (Randell) Wyatt of Dallas, TX, Ann (David) Hollo of Litchfield, IL, Great-Grandchildren: Clint, Brett, and Brittany Wyatt, several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by Parents, Husban Ralph C. Hart, Brothers: George Parr, Roy Parr, Nephew: Harold G. Hart.

Visitation will be Friday June 1, 2012 from 9-11 A.M. at Sutton Memorial Home. Funeral services will be on Friday June 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Sutton Memorial Home with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Harry W. Landers of Taylorville

Harry W. Landers, 90, of Taylorville, passed away May 18, 2012 at 2:30pm at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Taylorville.  He was born September 22, 1921 in Morrisonville, the son of Omar and Louise (Dorst) Landers.  he married Stella P. (Walker) Reber in November, 1952 in Peoria, IL.  She preceded him in death in October, 1996.  He was retired from the Taylorville Park District; a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving in both WWII and Korean Conflict. 

He is survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Shirley Landers of Taylorville and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Harry "Sonny" Landers, brother, Challie Landers, sisters, Captola Walker, Myrtle Hadley and Ruth Adomitis and grandson, Donald J. Garmon. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Chad Foster officiating.  Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. with full military rites.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

William L. McDermith of Mechanicsburg

William L. McDermith 65, of Mechanicsburg passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 5:58p.m. in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. He was born in Pawnee the son of Carl and Lucille (Sample) McDermith. He married Regina S. markley in Breckenridge, IL on april 18, 1992. He was a Farmer and Promoter. He enjoyed promoting Demo Derbies. He was the owner and operator of Shaner Power Sports and enjoyed working in the shop. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

He is survived by wife: Regina S. (Markley) McDermith, sons: Shane McDermith of Springfield and Carl McDermith of Taylorville, IL, daughters: Shala markley of Edinburg, IL and Courntey (Vince) Reid of Langleyville, IL, grandchildren: Shana McDermith, sister: Wanda Houk of Edinburg, IL, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorvilee. Funeral Services will be at 11:00a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Edingburg Park District, Edinburg. Burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery, Edingburg, IL with Pastor Scott Brindley officiating.

Bernard A. Scott of Taylorville

Bernard A. Scott 81, of Taylorville passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 9:15a.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. He was born November 13, 1930 in Taylorville, IL the son of William A. and Margaret C. (Young) Scott. He married Barbara Ann Mason on October 20, 1951. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1978. He then married Betty A. (Niesman) Jackson on May 1, 1982 in Springfield, IL. He was a retired School Teacher for Taylorville Junior and Senior High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville. He was also a member of VFW Post #4495 of Taylorville, the American Legion #257 in Stonington and Moose Club #1516 in Taylorville. He was also a Past Commander of the Catholic War Veterans of Springfield, IL

He is survived by Wife: Betty, Son: Andrew S. (Beverly) Jackson of Sterling, IL, Daughters: Debbie Wright of Pittsfield, IL, Patti Wheeler of Normal, IL and Jeanie Burtschi of Decatur, IL, Grandchildren: Faith, Cathy Jo, Seth, Alex, Morgan, Stephan and Mary Beth, Great-Grandchildren: Drake, Lauren, Emma, Luke, Madelyn, Brothers: Donald Scott, Russel (Nancy) Scott and Leon (Beverly) Scott all of Taylorville, IL, Sisters: Mary Lou Clayton of Mt. Auburn, Nide Grundy of Morrisonville and Shirley Conaway of Taylorville, IL, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins who loved him very much. He was preceded by Parents, sister Catherine Bailey and four brother-in-laws.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL with Military Graveside Rites.

Addasyn Nicole Kuhns of Taylorville

Addasyn Nicole Kuhns passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11:32pm at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  She was born Monday, May 7, 2012 in St. John's Hospital in Springfield the daughter of Matt Kuhns and Danielle Lunsford. 

She is survived by her parents Matt Kuhns and Danielle Lunsford; grandparents, Greg and Tanya (Durbin) Reber; Ron Cooper, Donald Lunsford and Cindy Bentley; aunts and uncles:  Jaclyn Lunsford, Brittany Kuhns, Rachel Robison, Kayla Kuhns, Steph Cisco and Josh Cisco.  She was preceded by Angie Kuhns and Richard Kuhns.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1:00pm in Babyland at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Rev. Randy Meyers officiating.

David Stephen Rightnowar Sr. of Stonington

David Stephen Rightnowar Sr., 70, of Stonington, passed away May 7, 2012 at 7:35am at his residence in Stonington.  He was born August 17, 1941 in Springfield, the son of Clifford and Patricia (Cresswell) Rightnowar.  He married Barbara (Bishop) Moomey in 1959, they divorced, then married Winnona "Winnie" Stain in June, 1990 in Sullivan.  He was retired From Wagner's Casting as a Sample Processer after 40 years of service.  He was a member of Local #728 and was a committeeman and steward.

He is survived by his wife; sons, David Rightnowar Jr. of Owaneco and John (Linda) Rightnowas of Stonington; step-sons, Bradley (Vickie) Stain of New Bern, NC., Brian Stain of Sullivan, Billie (Kaye) Stain of Grand Prairie, TX. and Jimmy (Teri) Wicker of Taylorville; daughters, Linda (Brent) Moomey of Owaneco and Dawn (Donnie) Swiney of Millersville; brother, Michael Rightnowar of Scottsdale, AZ; brother-in-law, Richard (Eva) Reed of Sullivan; sister, Rebecca Rightnowar of Springfield; sister-in-law, Linda (Rick) Parker of College Station, TX.; 10 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 2 half-uncles, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Larry Reed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Joe Sanders officiating.  Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington.  Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5-7pm in Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Juanita Mae Rhodes of Taylorville

Juanita Mae Rhodes, 98 of Taylorville, IL died Friday, May 4, 2012 at 8:38am at Taylorville Care center. She was born October 21, 1913 in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of Nick and Louise Stanley Ruppert. She married Michael Pavolka, and then Verdic Rhodes. They both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Nokomis.

She is survived by sons; Michael (Betty) Pavolka of Nokomis, IL; and Robert Pavolka of Florida, her daughter; Debbie (Matt) Harris of Tovey, IL, daughters-in-law; Christine Pavolka of Arizona; Dorothy Crowe of Nokomis, IL, sister; Dorothy Noyes of Pana, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both her husbands, daughter Carol Leach, brother Maurice (Bud) Pavolka, Marvin Pavolka: Harold Ruppert, Alvin Ruppert, and sisters; Elda; Ruby; Viola and 1 step daughter.

Visitation will be held Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville from 9:00am until the time of service.  Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Sutton Memorial Homes in Taylorville at 10:00am with Pastor Rodney Bloomquist officiating.

Donald E. Diedrich of Taylorville

Donald E. Diedrich, 62 of Edinburg, IL died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 12:42pm at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1949 in Edinburg. He was the son of Noble and Gloria (Lederbrand) Diedrich. He married Sallie Seaton on June 22, 1968 in Taylorville, IL. He was a barber. He loved animals and blues music and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica.

He is survived by his wife; Sallie, his son; Andre (Bethany) Diedrich of Betterdorf, IA, his daughters; Christina Diedrich of Springfield, IL, and Desaree O’Hara of Gulf Port, MS, his grandchildren; Dova, Robbie Anne, Zachary, and Elena Juliette, his sister; Emily (John) Lain of Auxvasse, MO, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Joshaben Diedrich, and his brother Henry Pele.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. There will be a dinner following the graveside service at the Edinburg Community Building. Please bring your musical instruments for a jam session after dinner. Everyone is invited to attend.

Glenn Emil Burdinsky of Taylorville, IL

Glenn E. Burdinsky, 81, of Taylorville, IL died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 1:00pm at his residence. He was born April 20, 1931 the son of Emil and Frances (Rhoades) Burdinsky. He married Shirley Friend in Raymond at Pleasant Hill Christian Church on September 7, 1957. He was retired from Bell Telephone Company in 1987, and is also a U.S. Air Force Veteran and former member of Sangamon Valley Wood Carvers. He spent a lot of his time carving.

He is survived by his Wife; Shirley, Sons; Michael A. (Penny) Budinsky of Springfield, IL, Darrin L. (Adora) Burdinsky of Chatham, IL Daughter; Cheryl A. (Jeff) Mahan of Graniteville, SC, Sister; Nancy (Jim) Montgomery of Chatham, IL, Grandchildren; Tera & Husband Erik, Jessie & Husband Bobby, Mandy & Husband Shane and Adam; 4 Great-Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded by his parents and sister Janet Hill.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 7, 2012 at Taylorville Christian Church in Taylorville, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Elaine Fletcher of Taylorville

Carolyn Elaine Fletcher, 84 of Taylorville, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2013 at 4:30pm at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  Elaine was born August 20, 1927 in Canton, IL. the daughter of Harvey and Ella Burrows Clark.  She married Lester J. Fletcher and he preceded her in death in February, 1970.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and had been employed at Liberty Mutual in Taylorville.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Fletcher of Taylorville; son, Mike Fletcher and wife Linda of Marietta, GA. and 3 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William L. Fletcher, and a sister Shirley Masstrodi.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00pm at McClure Funeral Home with Rev. Becky Lembke officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Snicarte, IL.  Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until time of service at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.

Donald Earl Deal of Taylorville

Donald Earl Deal, 65 of Taylorville passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 4:08pm at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born December 26, 1946 at Taylorville the son of Robert and Ella Louise (Cole) Wilson Deal. He married Judy Fuchs on May 30, 1970 at Taylorville. He was Food Supervisor at Taylorville Correctional Center, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Trinity Luteran Church of Taylorville and Moose Lodge 1516. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, traveling and especially his family and friends. He was a veteran of the Navy.

He is survived by his wife; Judy Deal of Taylorville, IL; Daughter, Wendy (David) Fleming of Taylorville, IL; Son, Brent (Stephanie) Deal of Champaign, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kiley, Braden, and Kourtni Fleming and Brooke Deal; 2 step grandchildren, Alex and Adam Pillischafske; step father, Howard Wilson of Taylorville, IL; step brother, William Wilson of Taylorville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jane Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 6 at 2:00pm at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 6 from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following services.

Donald L. Snyder of Taylorville

Donald L. Snyder, 75, of Taylorville, IL died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 5:58am at his residence. He was born December 25, 1936 at his residence the son of Leo and Lela (Lewandowski) Snyder. He married Carolyn Long in 1960 in Assumption, IL. He worked at Warehams Dairy for 26 years and prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville, Il for 25 years where he retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was an avid fisherman, and hunter and loved the outdoors. He fought a courageous battle with emphysema and cancer.

He is survived by his Wife; Carolyn, Daughters; Deborah (Robert) Burgener of Taylorville and Tamara (John) Perona of Taylorville, Brother; Dennis (Sandra) Snyder of Taylorville, Sister in Law; Jean Piercy of Taylorville, Brothers in Law; Dale (Donna) Long of Decatur, IL, Dewey (Connie) Long of Pana, IL and Steven (Kristi) Long of Webster Groves, MO, several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. He is preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 7, 2012 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Cremation rites were accorded.

Walter LeRoy Pud Lawyer of Taylorville

Walter LeRoy "Pud" Lawyer, 67, of Taylorville, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:04am in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.  He was born February 22, 1945 in Taylorville, IL. the son of Melvin LeRoy and Helen Virginia (Zaic) Lawyer. He married Helen Irene McKinney on August 1, 1970 in Taylorville.  He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Springfield Local #965, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, former member of the Early Idlers Street Rod Club of Decatur, Kids R Kids Car Club, A.S.R.A, N.S.R.A. and the 40 MPH Club.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Melvin LeROy (Kara) Lawyer of Taylorville; daughter, Heather Renee (Luke) McLeod of Taylorville; 3 grandchildren; special uncle Robert Zaic of GA. and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with military honors.  Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5-8pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.

Robert Lyle Mahan of Taylorville

Robert Lyle Mahan, 83, of Taylorville, passed away April 30, 2012 at 10:00am at his residence.  He was born July 14, 1928 in Owaneco the son of Dessie Elbert and Effie (Stephens) Mahan.  He married Kathryn J. Schwab on September 18, 1950 in Decatur, IL. and she preceded him in death in November, 2011.  He was a line repairman and installer for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in France, a member of the NRA and Turkey Unlimited.

He is survived by step-sons John Hill of Bellevue, NE and David Hill of Taylorville; brothers, Kenneth Ray (Freda) Mahan of Taylorville, Ronald Gene (Gerry) Mahan of Edinburg and Richard (Jean) Mahan of Afton, OK; and sister, Shirley (LaVonne) Clark of Taylorville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-daughter Patty Dishons, brother Dale Mahan and sister Helen Mahan. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, may 2, 2012 at 11:00am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Matthew Olson officiating.  Burial will be in Fraley Cemetery in Taylorville.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 10-11am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
