Lillian Pack, 90 of Pana formerly of Jacksonville passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10:48 a.m. at Prarie Rose Health Care Center in Pana. She was born on February 28, 1926 in Ricks TWP in Christian County, IL the Daughter of Ira and Lela (Waddel) Fleming. She worked as a clerk for the State of Illinois.

Surviving are her Daughters: Vickie (Bob) McGee of Woodson, IL; Candy (Dan) Byers of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Gitana Wallace of Springfield, IL; Chad Byers of Springfield, IL; Tyler Byers of Springfield, IL; Blake Byers of Chicago, IL; Niece Brenda Henning of Taylorville and Nephew Jack Ahlberg of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sister Irma Ahlberg and Grandson Shaun Wallace.

A private family graveside service will be held at Anderson Cemetery in rural Palmer, IL.

Gerald Jerry Durbin

 

Gerald “Jerry” Durbin, 74 of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at his home in Decatur. He was born on February 21, 1942 in Christian County, IL the Son of Harold A. and Helen (Dexheimer) Durbin. He married Judy Simmons on June 17, 1978 in Kentucky and she preceded her in death in 1999. He worked as a Farmer.

Surviving are his Son: Troy Durbin of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Pamela Welge and companion Scott Wilson of Taylorville, IL; Karen (Vale) Apolinar of Tennessee, Leah (Jose) Avila of Taylorville, IL; Lena Newby of Hartsburg, IL, Rebecca (Doug) Malone of Taylorville, IL; Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; Companion: Jolene Fahnestock of Decatur, IL and her children: Michael, James, and Sue Ann Fahnestock. He was also survived by his Sisters: Carmeline Skinner of Hillsboro, IL; Nadine Waterman of Taylorville, IL; Rosemary Albright of Springfield, IL; Brothers: Bruce Durbin of Morrisonville, IL; Mark Durbin of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son: Rodd Durbin, Sisters: Corinne Powers, Karen Brown; Brothers: Laverne, Richard and Henry Durbin.

Robert E. Butcher

 

Robert E. Butcher, 81, of Springfield, IL formerly of Mt. Auburn, IL passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Home in Springfield, IL. Robert “Bob” was born on May 22, 1935 in Taylorville, IL the son of Leroy and Ilah (White) Butcher. He graduated from Mt. Auburn High School in 1953. He married Lois M. Yeaman of Edinburg on July 26, 1953 at the Christian Church parsonage in Taylorville. They were married for 61 years. Lois passed away on September 25, 2015 after a brief illness. Bob farmed all his life in the Mt. Auburn area before retiring in 2008. He served in the U.S. Army and then he served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Mt. Auburn Christian Church and a life time member of Kedron Lodge in Mt. Auburn. He served on the boards of the Mt. Auburn Fire District and First National Bank of Mt. Auburn. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed going to livestock shows. He was on the committee that was instrumental in renewing the 4-H Livestock Auction at the Christian County Fair.

Bob is survived by his children; Mark (Stephanie), Greg (Jane), Wade and, Karen (Travis) Wood, 12 grandchildren Klayton (Amanda) Butcher, Emily (Jacob) Krause, Sarah (Daniel) Welch, Katie (Danny) Stierwalt, Savannah, Riley, Chloe, Madeline, Hunter, and Grace Butcher, Carson and Cade Day, six great grandchildren, a twin brother, William “Bill” (Mary Sue) Butcher, and Several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, His parents and one grandson Kyle Butcher.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Dan Armstrong officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Mt. Clifton E. Gene Black

 

Clifton E. “Gene” Black, 85, of Taylorville died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 3:47 A.M. in his home. He was born August 25, 1931 in Haleyville, AL to William Isaac and Grace (West) Black. He married Carol Mathon on June 5, 1955 in Taylorville, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. As a young man, he was a broadcast engineer for WTIM in Taylorville and WMAY in Springfield and a television repairman at Higgason TV and Appliance. Gene and his wife spent many hours remodeling houses for his children and grandchildren which taught them the value of hard work and dedication. In the later years, “The Chief” became the project manager of the house remodels and new construction builds, watching his family follow in his footsteps. He was a loyal Cubs fan for many years and enjoyed watching them win their 100th game this season. “Poppa” as many knew him loved his family and was always greeting his grandchildren and great grandchildren with treats when they came over to play.

 He is survived by his wife of 61 years Carol Black of Taylorville; his children, Susan (George) Calvert of Taylorville, Jane Griffith of Taylorville, Doug (Carla) Black of Taylorville, Lisa (Dan) Nieves of Rochester and Lori Smothers of Taylorville; Grandchildren, Amy (Ben) Winans, Aaron (fiancé Malissa) Calvert, Keri (Lee) Mateer, Kati Griffith, Ryne Griffith, Blake Thomas, Connor Black, Jodi (Aaron) Acree, Cassidy Nieves, Reagan Nieves, Adan Nieves, Livia Nieves, Jesse (Kayla) Smothers, and Jacob Smothers. Great Grandchildren: Eric, Travis, and Lilly Winans, Ellee, Emlyn, Eileen, and Eloise Mateer, Carter Thomas, Jayden, Adalyn and Amelia Acree, and Ryker and Hadley Smothers; Sisters, Marie Marbutt of Russelville, AL, Faye (Leon) Patterson of Moulton, AL, and Joan (Jerry) Pinta of Orland Park, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and 1 sister.

 A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2 P.M. at the Community of Christ Church with Cheryl Croft officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Yvonne Messmore

 

Yvonne Messmore, 64, of Nokomis, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 11:35 p.m. at Nokomis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Nokomis. She was born May 26, 1952 in Colorado Springs, CO, the Daughter of Harry and Wilma (Wittnam) Joyce. She married James Messmore on March 24, 1973 in Witt, IL. She worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Montgomery County Health Department.

She is survived by her Husband: James Messmore of Nokomis, IL; Son: James Henry Messmore of Witt, IL; Daughters: Michelle Fegler and Companion Chad of Nokomis, IL; Lucy Messmore of Nokomis, IL; Grandchildren: Jamie Fegler of Lyman, Nebraska; Christopher and Cody Norine of Nokomis, IL; Brothers: Dale (Rhonda) Joyce of Witt, IL; Tom (Kathy) Joyce of Irving, IL; Lee (Tami) Joyce of Irving, IL; Hal (Kristy) of Witt, IL; Sisters: Melba (Kenneth) German of Nokomis, IL; Mary Jo (Phil) Moore of Witt, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Sister: Delores Golitko.

Jean Piercy

Jean Piercy, 77 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 8:20 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on October 31, 1938 in Assumption, IL the Daughter of Kenneth and Fern (Swiney) Long. She married Wilbur Piercy on July 13, 1957 and they later divorced. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Education, she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she sang in the Church Choir.

Surviving are her Son: Alan (Kathleen) Piercy of North Tustin, CA; Daughter: Mary Piercy of Normal, IL; Grandchildren: Jeremy Durbin of New Orleans, LA, Shawn Durbin of Decatur, IL; Matthew Durbin of Glen Ellyn, IL; Elizabeth Piercy of North Tustin, CA; Great-Grandchildren: Ashley Durbin of Mt. Brenda Huddlestun

 
Brenda Huddlestun, 64 of Moweaqua passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:45 p.m. at her residence in Moweaqua. She was born on September 11, 1952 in Mt. Vernon, IL the Daughter of Harold and Jessie (Miner) Chapman. She married Gary Huddlestun on December 1, 1973 in Moweaqua, IL. She worked as a homemaker. Brenda was very compassionate about her family, friends, church and children. Brenda enjoyed all types of crafts especially plastic canvas and crocheting Afghans. Brenda will be missed but not forgotten.
 
Surviving are her Husband: Gary Huddlestun of Moweaqua, IL; Brothers: Melvin (Cheryl) Chapman of Emily, MN; David Bruce (Diana) Chapman of Moweaqua, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Great- Nieces and Nephews. Martin E. Wilson

 

Martin E. Wilson, 57, of Taylorville, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 7, 1959 in Harlingen, Texas, the son of Willie D. and Helen L. (Shadowens) Wilson. He married Donna G. Smith (Marsaglia) on May 29, 1993 in Taylorville. Martin truly enjoyed coaching JFL football, and did so for several years. He loved riding his Harley and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Martin was dedicated to his work at GSI as a commodity manager.

 

Along with his wife Donna of Taylorville, Martin leaves behind his children: Rhiann Martynowski (John) of Chatham, and Zachary Wilson and Tyler Wilson, both of Taylorville; grandchildren: Taylor Martynowski and Macy Martynowski; siblings: Sharon (David) Newell of Harlingen, Texas, Ruby Gooldy of Washington State, Mary Bailie (Chuck) of Ashland, Willie Pope of Taylorville, Rita Oldakowski (John) of Taylorville, and Willie D. Wilson II (Teri) of Taylorville; uncle: Andrew Marucco of Stonington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and nephew: Staff Sgt. Robert J Wilson.

 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund had been set up in Martin’s memory at the First National Bank of Taylorville. Albert Olin Oller

 

Albert Olin Oller, 72, of Taylorville, died at 7:55 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

Albert was born on May 6, 1944 in Irving, Illinois, the son of Jesse and Alberta (Kessler) Oller. He married Teresa Lynn Snook on July 1, 1967, and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2014. Albert served his country proudly, and retired from the United States Army. He later worked as a custodian for the Argenta School district for many years. Albert was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Taylorville. He was saved at and attended Kincaid Church of God. He truly loved helping others and working with his hands, especially on cars. He enjoyed a good day of fishing, and he collected Snoopy mementos. Most of all, Albert cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. His presence will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his children: Patti Lynn Habib of Quincy, Amy Sue (Troy) Mathis of Arnold, MO, and David Raymond (Terri) Oller of Kincaid. Grandchildren: Jake Tucker of Taylorville, Emily Mathis of Suwanee, GA, Ben Tucker of Taylorville, Sydni Oller of Kincaid, Bailee Tucker of Versailles, Zach Mathis of Arnold, MO, Peighton Oller of Kincaid, Carly Mathis of Arnold, MO, and Raylee Oller of Kincaid; sisters: Barbara (Robert) McKinnon, Doris Buck, Linda (Bill) Moma, and Donna Travelstead; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his wife Teresa, Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Charles Oller, Keith Oller, Juanita Lawrence, Joyce Dees, Earl Oller, and son-in-law: Fred Habib.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 24, from 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. at McClure Funeral Home. A memorial service and inurnment for both Albert and his wife Teresa will be held at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors performed by the Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Detail. Ruth J. Coleman

 

Ruth J. Coleman, 82 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 8:50 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born on January 1, 1934 in Taylorville, IL the Daughter of Walter and Fannie (Nixon) Braughton. She married Lorton Bruce in September of 1953 in Pana, IL and he later preceded her in death in 1996. She worked as a Telephone operator for Illinois Consolidated.

Surviving are her Daughter: Brenda (Mark) Sarver of Herrick, IL; Grandchildren: Cody (Mallory) Coleman, Erin (Ryan) Beaulieu of St. Augustine, FL, Heather Smart of Findlay, IL, Waylon Smart of Chicago, IL; Great Grandchildren: Sebastian and Henry Lincoln Beaulieu of Palm Coast, FL, Alexia Taylor of Findlay, IL, Madalyn Smart of Chicago, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son Michael Coleman, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

David R. Stroh

David R. Stroh, 67, of Taylorville passed away at 12:38pm on Monday, September 19, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on February 22, 1949 in Springfield, the son of John E. and Doris (Phares) Stroh. David enjoyed playing guitar and saxophone, and when he was younger traveled to Europe with the American Youth Band. He worked at GSI as a machine operator and in his free time enjoyed golf, fishing, and bowling.

He is survived by his mother: Doris Stroh; daughter: Holly Lomprez; grandchildren: Travis Lomprez and Kimberly Lomprez; great grandson: Treyton Donaldson, all of Taylorville; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 23, 2016 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Becky Lembke officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11am on Friday. Casual dress is requested. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Ruth Ann Sinnard

 

Ruth Ann Sinnard, 73 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on July 28, 1943 in Taylorville, IL the Daughter of John and Gladys Marcella (Walker) Evrley. She married Sam Sinnard in 1964 and they later divorced in 1974. Ruth worked in the Envelope line at Sangamon Card Company.

 

Surviving are her Son: Sam Sinnard Jr. and companion Marsha Mosley of Taylorville, IL; Daughter: Juanita Sinnard of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Annette (Bill) Wilson of Taylorville, IL, Justin Mosley of Taylorville, IL, Amanda Mosley of Kincaid, IL; Kaylie Mosley of Kincaid, IL; Mary (Randal) Durbin of Fort Mitchell, AL; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Brothers: Keith (Sandra) Evrley of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Brother: James Evrley.

Cecelia Sutton

 
Cecelia “Celi” Sutton, 85 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at her home in Taylorville after her short battle with cancer. Celi was born on March 22, 1931 in Assumption, IL the daughter of John and Mary (Adams) DeClerck. She married Myron Wayne Sutton on July 4, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2007. They had nearly 58 wonderful years together. She was the supervisor of the South School cafeteria for over 20 years. We remember celi for her socializing with family, friends, and for her many cookies and meals she shared with loved ones. 
 
 Celi is survived by one daughter Myra Sue McChristy of Dublin, OH; three sons Jerry (Beth) Sutton of Edinburg, IL; Terry (Rhonda) Sutton of Richland Center, WI; Tim (Debbie) Sutton of Taylorville, IL; four sisters, her twin sister Agnes Meyer of Taylorville, Mary Margaret Morrison of Pueblo West, CO; Nora (Byron) Peters and Fran (Fred) McKinnon of Taylorville; Two brothers Charles Declerck of Taylorville; Bernard (Ida) DeClerck of Stonington. Celi Cherished the love, laughs and hugs from her grandchildren: Scott(Christina), Ben and Kelley McChristy; Chad (Heather) Sutton; Cody (Donna) Sutton; Aimee Sutton; Nick (Lacey) Hodge; Great-Grandchildren: Alex, Lydia, Zach, Vaughn, Varick, Lorelai and Claire. Seymour “Alice” Burkhart, 91 of Springfield formerly of Stonington passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 2:50 p.m. at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center  in Auburn, IL. She was born on June 7, 1925 in New Bedford, MA the Daughter of Joseph and Maria Silva. She married Robert “Bob” Burkhart on April 8, 1960 in Boston, MA and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1994. She worked as a homemaker.

 

Surviving are her Daughters: Pam (Vel) Kovacevich of Sherman, IL; Laura Burgo of Los Angeles, CA; Anne Brent of Rockville, MD; Grandchildren: Taylor and Ben Kovacevich of Sherman, IL; Kim (Candida) Burkhart of North Hollywood, CA; Theresa Edmonds, Dominque and Christina Robertson all of Rockville, MD; Eight Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Mae and Brother John.

Thomas N. Bollinger

 
Thomas N. Bollinger, 74, of Taylorville, passed away at 5:05am on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born November 25, 1941 in Taylorville the son of Albert L. “Jack” and Helen E. (Young) Bollinger. He married Wilma Jean “Beannie” Buzan on February 26, 1962 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington, and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2006. Mr. Bollinger was a lifelong farmer in the Stonington area He enjoyed watching his sons compete in tractor pulls and was a member of the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association. In his free time, Tom enjoyed going to the lake, Cardinals games, and skiing in Colorado. Tom loved attending any activities that his grandchildren were involved in.  
 
Mr. Bollinger is survived by his children: Stephanie (Mark) Ramsey, of Moweaqua; Tom A. (Kelly) Bollinger of Stonington; Steve H. (Lori) Bollinger of Stonington; grandchildren: Ross (Brea) Ramsey, Holly (Nate) Herkert, Curtis Ramsey, Connor Bollinger, Sydney Bollinger, Grace Bollinger, Bailee Bollinger, and Lane Bollinger. He is also survived by one sister, Joanne May of Decatur, and his companion and dear friend, Janet DeClerck. 
 
Along with his wife Jean, Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the service at noon on Saturday in the church. Virginia R. Spalding

 
Virginia R. Spalding, 96, of Taylorville, died Tuesday, September 13, at 6:30 p.m., at Taylorville Care Center.   
 
Virginia was born on May 14, 1920 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Jay Betts and Mary Etta (Brown) Pehlman. She moved to Taylorville in 1930 and attended Taylorville Elementary and High Schools.She married Lloyd A. Spalding on August 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1999.
 
She is survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen (William) Chernisky, Pana, IL and Darlean (Joseph Richard) Allen, St. Petersburg, Fl. She is also survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.
 
Virginia was employed originally at First Trust & Savings Bank for 17 years, and then began working at the First National Bank in Taylorville the day it opened, retiring after 28 years as Vice President.  
 
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Taylorville and was very active in their annual Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon.
 
To honor Virginia’s wishes, no visitation will be held.  A graveside service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. with pastor Michael Evanchak officiating.

Dennis Kemp

 
Dennis Kemp, 61, of Taylorville, died at 10:54 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, in his home. He was born on June 15, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Cloyce and Joyce (Hess) Kemp.
 
Dennis grew up in the St. Louis area and then later moved to Taylorville. He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1973. Dennis held numerous jobs over the years, most known to locals would be as a union brick layer and concrete worker for both Boyd Redi Mix and Kevin Hamel, and a custodian for the Taylorville School District. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved showing his knowledge of these sports with others. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his “big white dogs”.  
 
He is survived by his companion: Joanna Griffiths of Taylorville; father: Cloyce “Papa Joe” Kemp of Naples, Florida; sisters: Nancy (Terry) Harbert and Kathy (Dave) Moore, both of Taylorville; brother Joe Kemp (companion: Cindy) of Eminence, Missouri; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother: Joyce Kemp and grandmothers: Evalee Cravens and Nellie Hess.
 
Mr. Kemp will be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.  There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

Ewing Seaton

 

Ewing Seaton, 82 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 7:06 a.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born on October 17, 1933 in Buckhart Township, IL the Son of J. Everett and Marjorie (Stogdel) Seaton. He married Patsy Louise Hagan on January 1, 1956 in Edinburg Christian Church in Edinburg, IL and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2009. He worked as a farmer and served in the U.S. Army. He loved Fishing, Hunting and Farming. Ewing was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Rural Sharpsburg, IL.

 

Surviving are his Sons: David (Debbie) Seaton of Edinburg, IL; Gary (Alice) Seaton of Rochester, IL; Kenny Seaton of Edinburg, IL; Darren (Tracey) Seaton of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Josh, Blake, Suzanne, Ryann, Wil, and Elysse Seaton, T.J. (Amee) Bates, Trent Bates and Companion Nicole Thomas. Great Grandchildren: Mason and Ryan Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joesphine McKinney

 

Josephine “China” McKinney, 93, of Taylorville passed away at 9:45pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Taylorville Care Center.  She was born on April 6, 1923 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dominic and Amalia Dalpoas.  She graduated from Kincaid High School and worked for the Pepsi Cola Company in Springfield.  On May 15, 1943 she married Laverne H McKinney in St. Louis, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on February 11, 1981.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  Josephine loved being with friends and going to dances with them.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her granddaughter: Amy Juhlin (Jeff) of Springfield; grandson: A.J. McKinney (Melinda) of Taylorville; great grandchildren: Abigail, Margaret, and Katherine; daughter-in-laws: Jenny McKinney of Taylorville and Patti McKinney of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons: Donald McKinney and Alan McKinney; siblings: Lucy Chiotti, Louis Dalpoas, Taxi Dalpoas, Margie Chalacoff, Jose Dalpoas, and Katherine Gherardini

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Taylorville with Msgr. Robert James Wagner

 

Robert James Wagner, 79, of Taylorville passed away at 10:30am on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Christopher, Illinois, the son of James E. and Helen J. (Porvaznik) Wagner. Robert graduated from Taylorville High School in 1954. He was a US Air Force Veteran with the Strategic Air Command.  He married Linda Larimore on August 7, 1965 in Bement and they recently celebrated 51 years together.  

 

He retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a member of the Christian County Sherriff’s Auxiliary, American Legion, and United Mine Workers of America.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, especially in Missouri. 

 

He is survived by his wife Linda Wagner; sons: Mark Wagner (Cindy) and David Wagner (Shanon), all of Taylorville; grandchildren: Cassie Rush (Brandon), Savanah Dunn, Sidney Wagner, Sarah Wagner, and Samuel Wagner; great grandchildren: Ryleigh Rush and Kaden Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. David Lantz officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 7pm at McClure Funeral Home. He was born on September 5, 1960 in Litchfield, IL the Son of Leonard and Freida (Young) Nail. He married Myra Stephens on October 6, 1989 in Taylorville. He worked as a Laborer. He loved to camp and go fishing.

Dina Moran, 86 of Taylorville passed away at 9:07 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

 

Dina was born on December 17, 1929 at Taylorville the daughter of Augusto and Maria (Castellani) Pelati. She married Richard P. Moran on February 4, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother, Dante Pelati, Grandson, Christopher P. Venters, Great Grandson, Samuel Egizii and Daughter in law, Michelle Ward.

 

Dina was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a graduate of Taylorville High School. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dina was a big fan of John Wayne and loved her flowers.

 

Survivors: Her husband of 65 years, Richard P. Moran of Taylorville, IL; Daughters, Kathy Moran (husband, David) Coplea of Springfield, IL and Janine Moran Fabian of Taylorville, IL; Sons, Steve (wife, Renee) Moran and Bill Moran both of Taylorville, IL, Mark (wife, Lisa) Moran of Normal, IL and David (wife, Marcie) Moran of Edinburg, IL; 14 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister in law, Barbara Pelati of Taylorville, IL; Her beloved canine companion, Barney.

Diane Manuell Lynch

 

Diane Manuell Lynch, 88, died at 12:30p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family.  

 

She was born on March 18, 1928, in Coffeen, Illinois, the daughter of George and Lula (Redding) Manuell. She graduated from Taylorville High School, and Springfield Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a supervisor at Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Diane married Robert L. Lynch on June 3, 1951, at Taylorville United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2002.

 

Diane is survived by her 3 sons: James (Marsha) Lynch, Michael Lynch, William (Ann) Lynch; grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew, and Collin Lynch, Lyndsey (Matt) McLaughlin, Jamie Lynch, Heidi (Travis) Boeser, Nicki Alexander; and 10 great grandchildren.

 

Along with her husband Robert, Diane was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Debbie Jean Durbin-Silva, 60 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 8:25 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on May 19, 1956 in Taylorville, IL the Daughter of Vere and Lela (Norris) Durbin. She married Mell Anthoney Silva on November 16, 1974 in Taylorville. She worked as an LPN at several area hospitals and nursing homes throughout her career.

Berniece McMillan

 

Berniece McMillan, 100 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:52 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born on October 1, 1915 in Stonington, IL the Daughter of Lewis and Stella (Foutch) Shanks. She married Jesse McMillan many years ago and he preceded her in death in December of 1973. She worked as a seamstress and a homemaker. Berniece was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, the order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Medinah #98 of Taylorville and the Royal Neighbors camp 678.

Dorothy May Allen, 85 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:05 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on October 10, 1930 in Taylorville, IL the Daughter of Roy M. and Flora Viola (Forrest) Tyler. She married Eugene Fay Allen on June 4, 1948 in Taylorville and he later preceded her in death. She worked as an inspector at Rothley Sewing factory.

Dorothy E. Wozniak, 82 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on October 5, 1933 in Chicago, IL the Daughter of Fred and Edith (Cooper) Vollmer. She married Russell Elias and they were later divorced and then she later married Walter Wozniak on June 23, 1972 in Addison, IL. She worked as a homemaker and she was a member of the Arch Diocese. 

 

Surviving are her Sons: Michael (Cathy) Elias of Fishers, IN, Richard Elias of Menasha, WI, Michael (Tamara) Wozniak of Bloomingdale, IL; Daughter: Debby (Scott) Single of Taylorville, IL, Karen (Tony) Mendoza of Elburn, IL; Fourteen Grandchildren; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Anita Goldberg of Arizona; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, brother: Donald Vollmer.

Anna Louise Haywood

 

Anna Louise Haywood, 86, of Taylorville, IL passed away at 4:45 a.m. Thursday, September 1st in her home.  She was born in Hewittsville, IL on March 26, 1930 the daughter of Otis Wayne “Handsome” and Alma M. (Schmelzer) Wells. She married Arthur M. Haywood in 1952 and they divorced in 1962. 

 

Anna was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Taylorville, IL.  She owned and operated Ann’s Flower Shop from 1972 until her retirement in 2015.  She was a former member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary in Taylorville.  Ann loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids. 

Surviving are 2 daughters Alice Neuman of Sacramento, CA, and Amy (Eric) Eberding of Springfield, IL.  One son Scott (Kitty Biggs) Haywood of Taylorville, IL.  2 sisters Gloria Gruen and Joyce (Don) Kelley both of Taylorville, 10 grandchildren, Trevor, Serena, Holly, Mindy, Kevin, Matthew, Aaron, Amber, Alex, and Alan along with 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Frances “Eloise” Smith and one brother Robert “Bob” Wells.

Dr. Jerry Breuel DVM

Dr. Jerry Breuel DVM, 83 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. at his home in Taylorville surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 6, 1932 in Pleasanton, KS the Son of Fred and Carrie (Parks) Breuel. He married Wilma Delores “Dee” McKaufsky on April 26, 1958 in Dallas, TX. and she later preceded him in death on June 13, 2002.  He was a retired Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  Jerry graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.

 

Surviving are his Son: Dr. Kevin (Carol) Breuel of Johnson City, TN; Daughter: Dr. Kelly (Bill) Hartel of Potosi, MO; Grandchildren: Craig, Kari, John and Sagan (Dustin) Pluth, Parker and Alexis “Lexie” Breuel; Companion: Sandra Hafliger of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military graveside honors.
